Hi All My Toyota aqua 2013 occasionally has an issue where the engine will suddenly go dead. It shows Ready status but when I press the accelerator it doesn't respond. Before this happens the engine will sound like it's struggling to kick in. It will jerk heavily and then just goes dead. When I turn off and turn on after this, the car will show ready but there will be no response from the engine. After I pull the plug out and dona reset the car works normally again. I haven't been able to scan because it usually stops I difficult places and after the reset any codes get erased. Other than that. When driving the car will jerk sometimes when switching from EV to petrol engine. Any insights will truly help Thanks

Hello everyone, I am new to this forum and I'm about to purchase my first car for home use. Cars that I'm interested in are Toyota Corolla 121 and Toyota Aqua 2013 or higher. This may sound bizzare. I'll explain why these are the models that I am going back and forth. Reasons troubling me to make a decision are, - Kind of want to go for a newer hybrid car ( not a very logical reason. I know that but I just like that ☺️ ) - Aqua is a smaller car but space is limited compared to 121 - Aqua's milage is better since it is a hybrid - We have 5 members in the home, therefore it is easier to fit in a 121 than an Aqua, and with the ground clearance between the two 121 is better for that - 121 is more spacious than Aqua and can carry up to 6 people without any problem - Some are saying that Hybrid batteries and ABS systems are giving some issues and for replacement, it would cost high ( I know I should bear the costs that comes with any car ☹️ ) - I have driven a 121 for about a year and I know the comfort and the issues I could face with this car Usage * Car will be for home use * Most probably it will be parked during weekdays * For a single weekend there's a good chance I will cover around 250km * I am from Kandy, so mostly I'm going on hilly terrains * There is some luggage I'm carrying around, but not heavy and can fit into both cars * When traveling not always 5 of us are traveling. Mostly 2 or 4 of us will I know these two cars are completely different from one another for comparison. But, my liking is between these two. Can anyone help me to make the decision on which car should I go for? Mentioned reasons are the ones troubling me. Thank You!!

Hello there good people at AL, I'm a random 18 year old looking to buy my first car (this will the first car of our family also, we have never had cars xd) Talking about the purpose mostly this will be my weekly driver to the Capital and Galle and also the daily driver in the busiest roads in Colombo. Swift 2008 What you people think and another thing I really wanna consider is less hassel in the garages, just coz I will be extremely busy with studys and job and all. I saw an old Mini Cooper (2002) must be one of earliest BMW ones in this range. I really like that look, as I heard from the internet the new BMW generations of mini are not the very best built. Before this price bubble I was looking for an Audi A1 but they all are now priced in 9mil range

I recently purchase a Toyota Aqua 2013 model which has done 62000Km Couple of days later the 'Check hybrid system' and 'Check Engine' indicators were shown. After taking to Toyota Lanka, I got a system scan done and the error code was P0A80, which is for Replace Hybrid battery pack. They identified the issue to be a voltage drop in one of the battery cell. They recommended to do a battery service, but while removing the battery they found the battery has already been serviced as well. For the moment I have temporarily got the code deleted. This is temporary and the error will appear again (I got it twice). The recommended solution is to replace the battery pack. Agent price is extremely expensive, but few other places said it would cost around 200,000. I wanted to know if replacing the problematic cell would be a good option? has anyone done this? if so what are the good places which this can be done. I spent 4 Million for the car and don't have another 200K at the moment. Anyone got any solution?

I have toyota aqua 2013 grade car.recently it indicate following dahbord sign time to time.these indicator sign dissapears once i stop the engine and start.but these indicator pops up time to time 4 times ever since i bought the car.it has been 4 month since i bought my car. Brake system warning light Electric power steering system warning light Slip indicator warning light (comes on) when these indicator light pops up i experience my car abs break loss and steering wheel get tightened. and cant move it easily. i scan my car and shows following errors in scan report. I want to know the severity level of these issues and how much i will have to spend to resolve these issues.

Hi, I have a Toyota Aqua 2013 and it has been not moved for about 2 weeks now. However now the doors are not responding to the smart key. Replaced the key batteries but still did not work. The mechanical key is not able to open the door. the power shutters are also closed. i suspect that the car battery is also down but without opening the doors i cant get that fixed. please advise on what to do

My car is Toyota Aqua 2014. I need to replace the existing 175/65R15 dunlop tyres due to causes of tires wear out (specially outside edge). The tyre shop owner has tell me that there have a common issue related to aqua cars when using 175/65R15 tyres due to causes of tires wear on outside edge. Therefore, he has recommended to change to 185/60R15 (to increase tyre width to avoid the issue). Is it okay? Pls help.

Hi I am considering buying a second-hand Aqua 2012/ Yaris 2007 / Corolla 141 OR Honda fit GP1 as my second car.I 'd appreciate if any expert could tell me pros and cons of each and what would be the best and any alternatives to the above 4.(budget is around LKR 3 mln). I intend to use the vehicle mostly in the weekend.During the weekdays it will normally be in the garage.Occasionally I intend to use it for long trips. I am also concerned about the failures of hybrid batteries,the maintenance costs and the fuel efficiency. thanks!

Hi Experts, My car-Toyota aqua G 2013, has indicate airbag warning light in dashboard recently. but not showing every time,time to time its happening. As per the technicians in hy**d-h*b, i need to replace airbag ribbon & angle sensor in the multifuncional steering Weel. Guys, I am planning to upgrade from my manual EK3, and am looking at buying an aqua, as it suits my budget and other requirements. My biggest concern is the battery. There are some adds saying battery 100% and some saying battery has been replaced. How should I check the battery? Is it a big concern? Anything else to check when buying a used hybrid vehicle? I would value other recommendations as well. Although I would prefer a manual, I have to settle for an auto due to family concerns. Budget is 3 - 3.5M. Prefer a sedan, but a hatch with reasonable space is OK, but prefer to avoid very small ones like the wagonR, etc. Will be driving mostly on colombo city traffic, with occasional long trips. Something reliable as my wife will also be using it. I would also like to have some power under the hood and driving pleasure, but I know I might have to compromise on that due to other requirements and comittements. Fuel efficiency is not a big concern, but a good efficiency is most welcome. Resale value is also a minor concern as I will only be using it for 1.5yrs max. Appreciate if you guys could help me, as you always have!

First of all apologies for opening a new thread to show my new ride. This might be a regular car for autolankans. But thought of writing on it as it is slightly different from ones you see day-to day. First of all I would like to say that I'm typical car buyer who buy japanese cars though I love to ride a beemer or six cylinder jap car due to financial reasons. My last drive was a toyota vitz (2007) which became a pain due to very low fuel consumption (I drive about 70-90km daily), and vibration issue. It cost significant fraction of my salary for fuel. I was thinking about buying used F10 520D, but I dropped that idea due to the reason that spending 7-8 mil in 8 year old car was useless. Then I started hunting an aqua(2015 or up) mainly due to fuel economy. While on hunting suddenly I noticed this car which was in a sale at Kalutara n had a look. Other thing was I wanted to exchange car with my Vitz. (I couldn't go through that pain of selling a car with lot of time wasting). Finaly they agreed to exchange those two. So here I present my new Toyota Aqua Gs (2015)... This car had been imported by the same car sale in 2017. First owner of the car had been used it carefully. I got service records for the past 2 years as well and clocked at 46000km. Had original tyres on it, but threads were worn out. So I had to change tyres at 1st. Due to the cost factor I went for Chinese set. Will see how it goes.. Car had been modified in Japan by these guys http://www.autoworld-custom.com/. Headlights came with angle eyes and all the other lights had been changed. Side mirror glasses had been changed to ones with light blue tinge and signal LED arrow. Mirrors also have welcome lights. When I bought this right side mirror glass had been shattered due to some reason and I had to replace it with normal aqua glass. Indicator is still visible at dark but not visible with bright sun light. If any of you guys has an idea where to find this glass (right side) please let me know. She came with dual exhausts which are functional with nice beat. I dont have undercarriage photo at the moment. Bonnet is supported by gas struts/hood dampers on both sides This has stock 17 inch alloys with caliper covers in red. Caliper cover letters glow in white in the dark and inner side of all wheels glow in yellow (LED). That's about exterior. How is the interior? A pillars have tweeters and on right side there is RPM meter. Usually tweeters are on the doors in aqua. Steering has been replaced with modified version. Start/stop button covered with a sticker. Pedals had been customized. Seat covers has been applied. this is the gear shifter.. color changed to red when on reverse. This is the reading light on the hood which has something else as well. ? Air purifier? I have no idea. But it has a fan or some thing. Came with a throttle controller which has 3 modes. Eco, normal and sports. Yet to check sports mode... So that's it for now.. will update on new things..

What would be the best option. Below is my travel pattern. Monthly travel distance - 700km (maximum) - daily office route (10km up & down) - Colombo to Makola twice a month (90 km) - Misc. trips (short ones) - Once in 6 months (Kandy) Option 1 I know that all the Aquas 2014 our there is needing battery replacement in no time even if the reports indicate 95+ capacity. Let's say I planned to find a low mileage (40000-50000 km) one with a decent battery.... Option 2 Vitz 2015/16 is the other recommended option. I know that the fuel economy is not so great. But at least it's a from a recent year (2016) and I don't mind the compact look as it's a bit smaller compared to an Aqua. Suppose I can find a low mileage 2016 one with good maintenance. In any case I'll be selling whichever car in next 3.5 years. So considering the whole life time usage whatdo you guys think I should be looking at?? Hi, I would like to get an advice on whether buying a hybrid vehicle (Vezel 2014/15 Aqua 2013/14 and FIT 2014/15) which has been used in sl for a while. Many of my friends say that all of them will be required to change the battery(most used ones have done more than 50000km). This could cost from Rs. 300k -700k. The other issue is apparently vezel has a gearbox issue that would cost approx 700k. As I see alot of these vehicles being available to buy, I am seeking advice if it is a good choice to do so. If so which model. If not any alternative that would fall below 4.3m

Hello, Buying a new car with Govt. permit is a challenge this time. Would like opinions from you people whether to buy a Vitz or Prius C. Prius C starts at 3.6 B/New from Toyota. Vitz has a large range. Since my budget is below 4 million, I cannot go for anything larger. Prius C (or Aqua) has tight rear leg room, it seems. And ground clearance is also low. Hybrid resell value is also a challenge. Your views please....

hi Guys, i own a toyota aqua 2012 with milage neary 50,000 KM . so far no issues but since last month i face a strange issue when starting . this is push start converetd before 2 years back . the issue is when i push start button with break padel pushed as usual it doesnt come to ready mode but all the dash board switches on. it doesnt happen frequently but after that you need to 2, 3 attempts to come to ready mode . i face no issues with battery mode it runs as usual with minimul engine start ups . any one can advise ?
