  1. Hello everyone , I am currently looking for an Alfa Romeo 155 (2.0 TS). I have owned a Euro Car (VW) before and have driven and know up to an extent about other Euro cars (BMW , Mercs , Peugeots etc) . But never driven or been in an Alfa. I don't even have a friend who owns one so this forum is my only place of information..I have a few questions. and I apologize in advance if there are any existing threads about this car..I couldn't find one. Here are the questions I want answers to, 1. I know parts are hard to find , but are they available? (since this is a rare and old car) 2. I know fuel economy isn't great but can someone give me a rough figure? 3.Are there Alfa specialists who can handle this kind of car except ITMC? 4. How reliable is this car? I can live with lack of parts and bad fuel economy , but reliability is important to me..Is this a good car to use as a daily runner? 5. Are there any known problems? common issues with this car? 6.How much should I pay for this? I have no idea about the market value of Alfas. Thank you in advance!
  2. Hi Automobiles or cars as we used call them, has long become a commodity and are now mass produced trade items that aims to fulfill the automotive requirements of contemporary human beings, whose day to day routines IMHO, are much more sophisticated now and reflect the chaotic and busy social, economic aspects of modern societies. Due to such scenario, most of us has lost certain feel good factor and innocence that we had when we were growing up (applies more to people who have grown up in 80's and 90's). IMHO, the cars themselves too, whilst become state-of-the-art and technologically revolutionary by every passing year, has lost a certain character and enthusiasts who love cars manufactured in 90's or early 00's, may agree that, their cars has such personality and character, that most modern cars (even the current models of their favorite make) lacks and thus continues to TLC their cars with great dedication and soul. IMHO, For example, a BMW car manufactured in 90's (or early 00's) has such a timeless design aesthetics and driving a well maintained car will give the impression that, people who made that car has such attention to detail, workmanship, passion and are mostly assembled in original factory of the maker. Now a modern BMW for example is mostly put together by robots and are mass-produced items in countries like India or china (no offense to the countries) and during recent ride in a 2015 5 series, I got the impression that, whilst the Car is modern looking and dripping with latest technologies, it lacked that certain character that old ones had and I got the impression that some of the materials used in the new car may not be durable as the ones in older cars. No I cannot afford a 2015 BMW for the time being I do not intent to discourage anyone from buying one. Also I do not intent to undervalue the brilliant tech or modern aspects of new cars, However, my heart always races when i see a mint condition older car (exclusively euro car as I am an euro car enthusiast) on the roads and I don't get the same excitement when I see modern cars. It may be just me or do you also happens to have same feelings for 90's cars. Sound off in comments below Cheers,
  3. Dear Experts I'm going to change the suspension of my Alfa 159 due to some rattles coming from front right and rear. Issues only lies with the front arms and the 4 top mounts. However, after a discussion with ITMC, I decided to change the dampers also to ensure the new parts will not suffer by old parts (the mounts are quite expensive). The choices I have for dampers are as follows; 1. Koni yellow sport adjustable 2. Koni FSD 3. Bilstein B4 4. Bilstein B6 I have been using Koni yellow adjustables in my Alfa 156 and they were quite good. But they were a bit stiffer for the comfort needed for a daily drive. Bilstein B4 is the OEM replacement but it is twin tube whereas others are mono tube. Now it's not everyday we drive like maniacs and only once a year we have a track day. So day to day comfort is also an important factor. Can you enlighten me with your experience with above choices? Thanks a lot in advance
