Hi Guys, My EK3 has a problem of fluctuating RPM when Idle. When I start the car, RPM is near to 2000 and after few minutes it starts rapidly changing between 800- 2000. As I heard from internet, this kind of things happens due to bad IAC valve. In past also I had the same problem and I replaced the IAC senser with a used one and it only solved the problem for a year. Now Again I faced the same problem. Yesterday, I unplugged the IAC valve and cleaned it and fixed. Now, the RPM fluctuation seems to be solved. But I still feel the idle is not stable and I can now see the "Check Engine" is lighting. I just checked the prices of genuine IAC valve in panchikawaththa and they said it is around 27000/= . Can you please tell me above problem is due to the problematic IAC valve? Is recondition part a better option than buying the brand new one for above big price (Considering the price and the long lasting)? If so, what's the price of a recon one? Thanks

My car is honda ek3 1999 brand new model. when after the AC is started idle goes down to 400 when switch off its gets normal. Cleaned TB Checked Idle up valve Change petrol filter Done Injector clean Changed Air filter Done all things which have mentioned in Topic Ek3 idle fluctuating issue Is this can happen coz of Alternator Coz i had a issue with alternator and replaced it from dual carb engine alternator Battery Charging sytem is k but idle goes down when AC is started Help me ask me for clarification

My car is honda ek3 1999 brand new one i need to know the what is controlling by fuse No 15 ( Alternator , Sp Sensor ) Fuse. which is located in fuse box in inside.

Hi, My car is EK3 1996 EXI manual one. My car having an issue with the acceleration as below. When the accelerator is pressed and keep steady, I feel like car is not pulling forward properly and the car doesn’t get the speed as it supposed to do. (feel like car doesn't pickup well) This doesn't happen all the time and in such cases, what I do is release the accelerator and press it again. Then, it gives proper pulling power and car speed gets increased. (this also doesn't work some times ) I feel this issue mostly when going on higher gears (3 or 4) and also feel acceleration is jerky. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks Ruwan

Hi All. I’m having EK3 1996 which I bought recently. When going on cold whether (specially in night driving in hill country), I have noticed that the Engine temperature becomes very low. (Near to the bottom). As I read from the internet, similar issue can be occurred by a faulty thermostat or not having a thermostat at all. Can you please comments whether the thermostat could be the problem? If so, how much will it cost to install a new Thermostat valve? Thanks Ruwan

I have EK3 96 Manual Last week I had my first run on Highway (only upto second exit) and I did about 15km on 130kmh (it was dead night.. no police). at the later part of the journey I see the car getting heated. the indicator was alomost at the red bar. I switched off the AC and reduced the speed to around 90 and then the temp was back to normal middle position. After the journey I checked the water level and the extra tank was all empty (it was full at the beginning and I was using coolant, not water). Yesterday I did a test with driving on high rev (around 3.5-4) on 2nd a small time to see if i can recreate the situation, it was heating. This was not there until the first Highway run. I had some high rev drivings before that but no problem on heating that time. Under normal driving the heat is constantly at the mid level. Any idea on what may be the problem? And any good place to check the cooling system?

Dear All, I think my Car battery is completely dead. Even If I fully recharged, it won't hold a single day. Currently it has a Exide 60A battery. I'm not sure it is the correct battery amperage for my car. I don't have any high power consuming audio setup or lighting system attached to it. What are the battery amperage of your Civic Ek3 ? I'm going to buy new one this Saturday. Thank you !

guys i just bought a honda civic ek3 1997.um new to honda.so i dont actually know much about it.please help me with the following issues. 01.I need to put the rubber beeding which is in the front of the buffer. 02.the power antenna is broken.i prefer a recon japanese one rather than going for a chinese new one. 03.Um not a ricer but just thought of getting a spoiler and the mesh grill. 04.A small sticker to paste in the lower part of the front doors which says 1.5 v-tec (cuz i saw a car with this sticker.it was nice) 05.Need a good tune up ( I checked the forum alot people said Zackie is good but one of the honda club memeber told me he replaces the chips and hacks the car.so i really dont know um like lost) 06.Also i need a bit of advice.The car is with original honda alloys.they dont look so nice but it gives the car an original look.in two minds whether to trade it n go for better alloys. guys please help me with these issues since um totally new to handling vehicles.please tell me the places to do the relevant things done and how much would it cost me.Sorry if have re-posted something which is already there.but please be kind enough to help me out.Thanks a trillion in advance!

Is there any difference between vtec fuel consumption and non-vtec fuel consumption? If so which does better? I would also appreciate if anybody can tell me which is better? main differences in the price range and vehicle differences etc. would help me a lot. My budget is 1.5m P.S. I was going for a Lancer CK2 but after i test drove a civic ek3 i just fell in love with it! Thanks
