  3. Hello guys, Finally I’m happy to say that after many years, I’m going to sell my car and buy an Axio Luxel Alpha. So the car is owned by one of my father’s closest friends and he is the first owner. He personally imported and maintained the car well. At the moment the car has only two issues. One is the famous dashboard cracking problem. Other one is a bad Right side front shock absorber. I have driven the car previously and man that thing pulls hard.So I used my 121 during the same period of mileage but since this has a different engine and a gearbox, I have a doubt about maintaining it. So please give your advice. The car has done nearly 120k kms 1.Do I need to change the CVT gear oil? 2.Where can I get the dashboard problem sorted out and how much will it cost? Most of the advertisements in famous sites have quoted 20k.Is is for the repair or replacement?Which is the best option? 3.I previously used B/new KYB shocks for my 121 and I felt that they are pretty hard.So one of my friends said to use good reconditioned shock absorbers. He also uses them for his 110.If then where is the best and trusted place to buy them?Do I need to replace both right and left ones? 4.The car currently has rim cups.I plan to replace them with original alloys that came with it.Where can I find reconditioned original alloy wheels? 5.Other than that, what are the general maintainence stuff I have to do after purchasing? 6.Is there any known issues for this prticular model? -One more question.Does the Luxel handles better than the G and X versions?Someone has mentioned about a rear stabilizer bar previously in the forum. Is it true?I never had the chance to push it to the limits? So finally I have to let go my good old 121 baby.Since she gave me no troubles during her 6 1/2 year stay, I hope the next owner will have to worry about nothing.I also touched 180kmph twice and the car felt well planted and no stability issues came. Just a bit sad to let her go? Cheers???
  4. Hi Guys, I would like to buy Honda Grace for my Permit, Does any members recommend that? my friends suggest to go for Axio since Grace have some issues with Clutch system. Does any one faced? Thanks Selva
  5. I know this topic has been discussed some time ago. My budget is around 3.5 - 3.7Mil. Looking for a family vehicle. If there are maintenance records, (Toyota Lanka, Laugfs etc.) what will be the good choice considering the present market for reselling, as family is bit concerned about it too. Any other alternatives? Brand new? Hope this info will be useful to others too. Thanks in advance.
  6. My car is axio hybrid 2014,,I service it two days back in Ratmalana Toyota lanka.I went 80 km in highway & suddenly engine stop without prior indicators.I try to start but fail to do so.At that time engine malfunction bulb displayed.Ultimately I have to bring the vehicle by carrier. What may be the cause
  7. Hi I am currently thinking about buying a Mitsubishi Verada 2002 car. Is there anyone who knows about this vehicle? I want to know followings. It has a 3500cc engine a. How is the fuel consumption? b. any known issues with the engine? c. How is driving experience? d. Spareparts availability and cost. e. Any genuine advices are welcome Thank you dear experts
  8. Finally i’m ready to sell my good old 121 (budget is okay?) and move on to something new. A close friend of mine owns an Axio Luxel 2007 model, which was imported and used by himself. He also plans to sell it and go for Axio Hybrid. I have the idea to go for that Luxel because I have driven it a couple of times and car is in mint condition, except the dashboard which needs a replacement due to the cracking issue. Also the front suspension needs repairs. Other than that the car is in perfect condition. No dents.Body and interior are perfect. He maintained the car regularly and loves it. Luxel has a good option list like tiptronic, auto parking, pre crash safety and radar cruise control (not even available in 2017 premio/allion).And also I like the 1.8l engine. The only thing that keeps me pulling away is the mileage of 112k kms. What are the running repairs I might face if i bought this? Is it a risk to buy this car instead of going for an unknown civic fd1 with low mileage?(civic might be better in terms of handling, but power wise both might be equal) Please share your valuable ideas Cheers???
  9. Planning to buy a vehicle ASAP. I have narrowed down my selection to following (they are all Toyota..call me a racist) For now I'm swaying between Vitz and Axio. Your opinion is greatly appreciated. Most of the travelling will be on Highway and off roads nearly 1500 km per month in total. 1. Toyota Vitz 2016/2017 (1000CC) 2. Toyota Axio 2007/2008 3. Toyota Belta/Yaris 2011
  10. Submitted by Benjamin Yong on September 30th, 2016 Toyota's Hybrid Synergy Driver technology powers each one of the company's hybrid vehicles. We all know the Toyota Prius family of vehicles are fuel-efficient. Some may even know it’s because of the automaker’s Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD) system that powers every hybrid model. But how does it work? Find out below. At the core of HSD is a twin motor-engine setup. A gasoline engine acts as the primary means of propulsion and an electric motor provides backup power and recovers surplus energy. The computer automatically switches between the two to deliver maximum fuel efficiency and a comfortable driving feel. Let’s dive a little deeper into the technology. When the vehicle is initially started up and all the way up to the mid-speed range, engine efficiency is at its poorest. As a result, the gasoline powerplant is shut off and the car runs solely off the high-output electric motor. During normal cruising, the main power switches over to the warmed up engine running at high efficiency, which directly drives the wheels. A generator is also engaged — via a built-in device that splits and diverts engine output — to produce electricity for the motor. In scenarios calling for rapid acceleration like passing on the highway, power is supplied simultaneously from both sources to boost performance. As soon as it’s time to slow down, the process happens in reverse. While the driver lets off the accelerator and/or gets on the brakes, the wheels turn the motor, now operating as a generator, converting rotational and braking energy into additional electricity used to charge a high capacity battery. This is known as regenerative braking. When the battery level dips down to a low level, the engine switches on the generator to begin the recharge cycle, ensuring the system maintains a healthy charge for optimum operation

  18. Hello Experts, Excited to join Autolanka forums Waited almost for month for an admin to approve me ... anyway, whoever the admin that approved me, Last December, I sold my good old Maruti WagonR ( 2008 model, 5yrs old, driven for 30000+ Kms) For 1.6mil. I was searching for a good car to buy ever since. ( that's how I ended up on autolanka) So now that I finally got approved I thought it's time to get expert ideas on buying my new vehicle. My budget is 3.5mil - 4.0mil. I wanted to buy a japanese car and browsing the internet, Finally I decided that there are two contenders: 1. Toyota axio 161 1.3 X Grade (2013) 2. Mitsubishi Lancer EX 1.6 GLX (2013) Both the cars ( Brand New ) are being sold for 3.5 mil. for the permit. ( Lancer : 3,460,000 to be exact) My priorities are: -RELIABILITY -Fuel Economy -Spare Parts Availability -Safety And comfort -Handling -Looks - Resale value Axio Dealers are mainly bragging of TOYOTA Reliability and Spare parts availability. They assured me I'm in deep trouble if I choose a mitsubishi because there are no spare parts in local market and I would have to buy spare parts only from agent paying a huge amount of money and I have to wait till eternity for mitsubishi agents to import parts from japan. And they also mentioned that unlike axio, I won't be able to sell the mitsubishi for a decent price. (if I wanted to, of course) I called mitsu agents and they say they have spare parts for any vehicle they sell and I don't have to worry. However the sales guy said he have no idea on 3rd party parts availability. So as you all can see i'm in a dilemma here. If you were in my position which car would you buy? And please be kind enough to mention why.. This is my first post on autolanka, so please go easy on me if I have offended any rule. Thanks in advance.
  19. I've this Axio 161 A/T with 15k Milage Recently I noticed when I'm breaking (When it requires automatic transmission to downshift) I hear tick sound. I guess "ticks" are heard per downshifting gears. Is it an issue with my transmission or should I need to check this with a mechanic before next service?
  20. Hi experts, I have my eyes on a toyota NZE 144 with 60k milage (buyer told me it as a AXIO 2007). but people say its a waste since it is a 4W car. offer is 3.7 million. but i searched a bit and it is not 4W drive car but "all wheel drive car" built for good handling. any comments on whether to go for it. need to know your ideas on this
  21. 22. Hi, I owns an Axio Hybrid. In the display it show the distance that can go with the remaining amount of fuel. Is it accurate? When it becomes 0 km will the vehicle stop? or switch to the fuel reserve? How many litres of petrol in fuel reserve? Thanking you for your kind answers.

    Axio 2008 Issues

Hello friends, After using the CS3-2007 for almost 2 years, I sold it the last weak. I enjoyed the time with it, and many thanks to you guys for helping me with my CS3. A few days back I bought a Toyota Axio 2008-X. It clocks 86000Km and transmission oil changed at 50000Km. A tech guy said that he hears a faint hum from the gear box. But on climbing an elevation it can be brought to 80+ Km/H easily and on a avg drive it can reach 100+Km/H with the Econ bulb on. Two days back we went on a outstation trip and believe it when I say it has done 20.3Km/L on Oct95. It has a very good emission report. So I doubt the tech guy's comment. What is your opinion? It has PRNDSB gear possitions. What is "S" ? Is it for sudden accelleration or is it to gain more power when needed (eg: for a climb) - kindly explain.
  24. Did a bit of a quick draw analysis on cars prices advertised on a popular local classifieds, maybe it can be of some sort of numerical substance for the many of the arguments here It's work in progress, hopefully we can discover something interesting. https://medium.com/@crunch/galle-road-wars-part-1-c9b3e534a5a
  25. I own a 2007 Corolla axio and about six months ago when I stopped the car at a junction for signal lights, car stalled and when I cranked again it started without any problem but some time later I found that the check engine lamp was on. Then I took the car to the garrage where I got all the services and they scanned the system and said that the crank position sensor was faulty and replaced it. But when I got back home the same fault occured and I managed to take the car back to the garrage and they cheked again and said the faulty may be with the air/fuel sensor and they disconnected it and gave me the car and ask me to run for sometime. Thereafter I ran the car for about two weeks and I connected the A/F sensor and managed to run the car without any fault for about a month. Thereafter I went back to the mechanic and got the old crank position sensor installed replacing the new one and managed to run the car about three months without any problem. However about a month ago the same fault happed and I could not start the car even after disconnecting the A/F sensor and I had to tow the car to the garrage and they scanned again and replaced the A/F sensor. Thereafter I ran the car about a month and the same fault happed again and I managed to get the car started after few attempts. I took the car to toyota lanka and they also can't identify any problem. Can anyone help me solve this issue..
