Dear friends, I'm going to buy my 1st car . My maximum budget is 1.6 Million. I have few options .1. brand new Alto, 2. Used Hyundai or KIA , 3.Used Toyota, Nissan Or MAZDA. When I asked from various people they give opinions in favor of all 3 options.Therefore I need your valuable advises to select best car out of these. I hope to use this car for about 5 years without much problems. I will not able to spend much money for expensive repairs and maintenance. I need considerable resale value, little bit of comfortable . manual or auto,(auto is more preferred). I would be much thankful to you if you can help me.

HI People, No this is not a thread about fuel or oil changes and crap... No Im not a hypermiller. I have been a member since 2012. Yet I post very rarely. But I read all em threads daily, I have had a lot of help from U guys in the past as well. Okay enough on that... Its like this, we got an Alto 2015 for my sister(not my choice as I personally like Italians,Euros and american vehicals).Reason we went for it was brand new, reliable and economical.Her money so I dint go against it... we paid and waited 6 months for it. That was also a month earlier than they promised. I even called Komi once bcos he was also going to sell an alto he ordered for his wife. Sadly I lost his number.. Now here is the real deal. Its economical to the core, BUT its bloody boring as hell.Only in bends in the hill country you can get some feeling. But if u keep doing that Im gonna fly off. Handling is horrid,tires are shitty. After 3rd gear it takes ages to speed. Max I've done is 120.U wet urself not cos its fun, it feels really unsafe. As if ur gonna lift off Into the sky and into Gods arms..(Not funny).. And the BREAKS, MY GOD THE BREAKS... A mountain bike stops faster.. so far the only thing added is a spoiler. Oh and got it tinted.. nope I dont want a neon or integra stickers on the windshield... I want to make it faster,more fun to drive and do something unique on the outside. Only tuks are more visible in roads than altos now.followed closely by vesis. I saw somebody has done a Turbo convo on a k10 alto. My God thats awesome.. I want help from all u experts to make the car a a (beast?) Roughly what I think It needs- Engine upgrade, break upgrade, suspention upgrade,interior and exterior upgrade..pls help me everybody No I dont care about resale value. Selling and buying something else is also not an option. I have a weird taste in cars. Hate common cars,this is very common.. But I like to make it a unique Alto. Thanx in advance. I Have search Autolanka forums regarding this and thanks for all valuable opinions. .. But most of those threads are very OLD. so don't blame me. Last 3 or 4 years sri lanka car prices changes very much.. at the moment as we know srilankan vehicle market is not doing well and car prices have gone down. EX - we can see AE110 are priced from 13lks to 21lks . So if you guys can reply with current market ..it will be very helpfull.. I'm looking for (exsept Indian maruti and Alto) 1.relible 2.fule efficent i have few cars in mind. which one will be the best? I will be travaling 40km per day 3days per week and once a month 450-500km . roughly 1000 -1200KM per month. Hi guys, I know there are loads of threads regarding queries and advises on choosing a new car, or choosing between an Indian new one or a used Japanese. These threads are quite old and my problems are a bit complicated, so thought of seeking expert opinion of you guys 1. I plan to buy the car with a leasing package and hope to use the car for at least 3 - 5 years.. 2. I have zero technical knowledge regarding cars/ vehicles as I have never driven one before. 3. Since I am going for leasing, I don't want to be spending much and frequently on the maintenance / repairs of the vehicle, hence I am reluctant to go for a car which is too old.. 4. Need to travel 25-30 km daily, hence fuel efficiency is also important. 5. Budget - 1.1 -1.3 million Please suggest a good option for me considering the above factors. I like the new Maruti Alto 800 too, though it is priced at 1.42 million, I can go for it since its a brand new vehicle ( lease rentals would also be a little low ) I also gave a thought about the Hyundai Accent - auto, which I heard from a friend is a decent car + the price is very good for an automatic car. Also, Kia Rio - Auto seems good for that price But complicated in selecting options above or some other option, which seems bleak at this stage Please suggest. Thanks in advance Cheers!

Dear All, I read the below text in the wiki site about the K series engines, Suzuki evolved a New Model "Alto K10". Powered by three-cylinder units displacing 998cc. The engine is one of the best units in it class and is the only 1.0 litre twin cam engine available. The engine produces 68PS at 6200rpm and a healthy torque rating of 90Nm at 3500rpm. Car has 5-speed transmissions and is smooth to operate. However the Alto's feels a tad better to use. The engine too is more refined and not as harsh as contemporaries. Hi all, I'm new here and expecting your help to make up my mind for this. I'm planning to buy a Japanese Suzuki Alto Eco 2012 model. I made this decision after reading some news articles which claims that this version of alto is an extremely fuel efficient car. I do not know anything other than that. All I want to know is how much will it cost in SL? If you guys think that this is not a good option, please help me find a good car which matches my criteria. The car should be 1. Economical to run and maintain (I do a lot of driving) 2. Unregistered or slightly used (I'm usually busy, so cannot afford to spend a lot of time in the garage.) 3. With dual air bags or more (expecting some safety) 4. Around 2.7 million. Appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

Dear All, i'm new to this forum, hope you would be helpful to me with my 1st car. I'm looking to my 1st car and my budget is around 1.8mn out of that hoping to get a leasing for 1.3mn. I'm still looking to choose a good car; following are in my mind, 1. Suzuki Alto KA24S (660CC) 2. Kelisa (2007 - 2008 model) 3. Suzuki Maruti Alto please advise me on the above and suggest any other cars which can be found within my budget. FYI, i'm bit concerned on the fuel efficiency also.
