  2. Dear AL Friends I am in struggle with an issue on my Allion 240,hope expert AL members will give better solution to escape from this problem.... Here i list my scenario 1. Yesterday after few miles run i saw oil leakage on engine bay. after investigation it is near oil control valve then i saw it to mechanic and he remove OCV , and sealed with 999 sealant. And also inform me to use water pump and clean previous oil leak areas( not engine area) 2. Then i travel to home without any issue and cleaned oil leak area from water pump and paste 999 sealant near ocv value area thoroughly. 3. Then after few minutes travelling Check Engine bulb start blinking. then i removed battery wire(-) around 20 mins and start. Then Check Engine bulb goes off. Again i start driving another 20 mins it shows again. 4 . Then i went to mechanic again and scan. it shows VVT system malfunction error, then he erased it and after another 20 mins driving engine lights ON. I notice after 10-20 mins driving that light blink after i search forums i found two reasons. 1. OCV issue 2. VVT sensor issue My dear AL friends what will be the issue behind this..Hope u all help me Thanks
  3. Dear My AL Friends I post this question after search 1000 times in AL as well as internet. But not satisfactory answer yet. Hope AL expert can solve it. My car DVD/TV Setup (Chinese one that previous owner install) works fine up to month after purchased. But setup display( audio working) not it not working in cold start( it mean once after 1 or 2 after car stopped).when after i drove 20 mins, it's working again. I using car only on week ends. Because of that i sightly understand battery drain little bit ( Start also not soft as first). My Question is 1. For DVD player display problem is because of due battery issue.? Can it would be happen due battery drain or any other issue related to Display...? Your valuable answers are highly appreciate

  5. Hi Guys, I'm facing kind of a quandy here. So I'm coming to the experts. I'm going to buy a new car and have the following options. Brand New Geely Emgrand EC7, imported by Micro. 3.2 Mil LKR. Made for the european market, has a 4 star safety rating, so not really "chinese crap". 3 years warranty in Sri Lanka, 5 years in other countries, so probably reliable. Looks good. Micro however doesn't really has a good customer service record. A 2004 BMW E60 520i Milage around 50,000 KM, About 4 Mil LKR. Well it's a BMW. Always wanted to own one. It's a 2004 model though. 5 series has more electronics. Good rep. But I don't want to end up having to do a very expensive repair every two months or something. Toyota Allion or a Premio probably around 2010 or a nearby year. About 4 Mil LKR. Good market, after sale value. Cheap repairs. I'm not really concerned about fuel economy. I'm just looking for a car I won't have to repair every few months. What do you guys think I should buy? Thanks.
  6. I'm planning to buy a new car and my budget is around 2.7 Million (Max). So far I have checked the following models. Toyota allion 240- 2002 Toyota 121 G grade 2005 -1500cc Toyota Belta 2007 - 1300cc Toyota yaris 2008-1300cc Toyota Vios 2008-1500cc Toyota VITZ-1000cc 2010 Don't suggest other car models like Mazda Axela, lancer models or honda cos i'm a toyota fan I'm looking for a car which have good fuel economy, comfortable, good design and reliable car which wont give me troubles (engine and transmission) in the long run as I'm planning to use this car at-least for another 5 years. I plan to run 800km per month(500 km on highway and other 300km on colombo city limit) So, I really appropriate help from you guys to select one model from the above for me or any others you suggest, based on above details. Also if you can share your experiences (fuel consumption and reliability) of the above models that would be highly appreciated. Thank you and looking forward to see your comments.
  7. Hi, I want to upgrade my corolla 141 to a car with following features. 1. Good resale value. This is why I was thinking to go for Toyota. 2. Daily usage like 70-75Km. Travelling to Colombo daily for working 3. Good fuel consumption - 4. Least defects low maintenance. 4. Budget - 4million -2008-2010 premio/Allion, -Axio(non-hybrid). -Honda Civic(non-hybrid, like the car but again resale value is a problem) -Suggest me any car model Not so limited, but this is what comes to my mind. Axio is the least like, as similar to what I have now, but will be still consider as seems fuel consumption is quite good as what I heard. Not so fan of hybrid vehicles coz of second hand market, complexity. And real calculation seems suggest me non-hybrid is more value for money under these circumstances. Problem - When ever I talk to a owner they always giving me high hopes of what they own. And if Axio, Allion, Premio users can share there fuel consumption (real ones) highly appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Trying to decide between BMW 320D vs Allion 260 and I need your help. Been lurking over this forum for quite a while, did my own online research reading tons of past threads but if any of you can share some honest insight specifically on this, that's gonna be a huge help - for me and many others! Don't think this question/comparison has been done before. Aight, my goal is to figure out what'd be the better choice out of these two - BMW 320D vs Allion 260 (almost the same as Premio). If you need a manufacture year for the benchmark, let's use 2011. Not planning to get it down, looking at buying a car that's already been imported - so probably gonna be the 2nd/3rd owner. I'll be using this mainly in Colombo and suburbs. Not a family man, just a cool bloke here (family men can be cool too!). I'm not going to be a cheapo - I want to live my life to the fullest, but also not going to forget the fact that SL is one hellova peculiar market - thus wouldn't want to drift too much away from it and live in my own world either. Neither I'm a fanboy of any brand and a pretty much newbie when it comes to vehicles - thus here I am on a public forum asking for expert advice! My observation/thoughts - Roughly a 2011 Allion 260 would be around 55-60 lks whereas a 2011 BMW 320D would be around 65-70 lks. The difference is one million; now I'd love to go for a BMW but my main concern is if BMW offers the same/more features as an Allion (probably a "stupid" question already but heck, I'm here to learn and grow). In my own comparison, here's what I know so far. I should also note that I did some intensive research and chose these two cars are two great contenders overall. Resale value - Both (tho Allion, bearing a Toyota badge seem to have a more stable market value; less depreciating.) Fuel Efficiency - Allion Parts - Allion Prestige (common, let's be honest ) - BMW Features/Specs (my main concern) - Allion? (Again probably another stupid remark but on almost all Allions, and their specs I did see tons of "bells and whistles") Driving pleasure - BMW? (Assuming BMW has less features, can it exceed the overall experience we get in an Allion?) Build quality - Both? Requires less maintenances (comparatively) - Allion Probably for those who are well versed with the subject this might not even be a worthy comparison - as you'll know what's the best right off the bat, but just sharing your honest opinion without trolling/going with the wave would be of immense help. Please feel free to ask if you need any of my inputs, to craft a better response.
  9. Normally we have only one button on the meter panel to reset trip counter and to switch between trip counters and ODO meter. I saw in Allion 240 there are two buttons on the meter panel. Can someone explain me the task of this second button? Further i noticed that this is not available in the Allion 240 standard package.
  10. Dear All, Recently I bought Allion 2005 model (G grade). Despite all nice things come with it I noticed the chassis touching the ground when other cars i.e corolla 121 pass without an incident. Right in the middle of the car hits the ground even when there a small hump. When I checked with my garage they advised that I have fix alloy wheel to solve the matter, since alloy wheels lift the car few inches. I need your guys valuable advice on this. First of all tell me whether this a normal for Allions or something with my car? If I'm to fix alloy wheels is there any particular type/brand that I should look for, and the cost if you can. Thanks in Advance.
