So I got my gasket replaced and once the work was done, I look at the dashboard to see that now there is a permanent airbag light. Also, when I revved the engine the instrument cluster would switch off and on rapidly. So the mech tapped on some plugs & wires and although the rapid flickering stopped, it does feel slightly twitchy. The radio & climate control LCD screen are perfectly fine though. Also, when I reached home, I noticed a variation in the sound and saw that the engine is idling at less than 800rpm. Mech isn't an expert on wiring but he told me I might have some sort of a short circuit/loose connection somewhere. Nothing wrong with the battery terminals, infact the positive terminal is new. I'll take it to a technician tomorrow morning, I just wanted to know what to expect. This car has started to stab me in the back now

When the ignition switch is turned on, the airbag light blinks 6 times and switches off. Internet tells me I need to get it diagnosed. Is it something related to connection or sensors? It's a bit scary tbh. Thanks in advance!

Hi, It's being a while since my last post. But this isn't about an issue with my car . Two days back, I received a call from Unit#d Mot#rs (Mitsu Agent) on an air bag inflator unit upgrade which is FREE ! I contacted @trinity (the lancer geek) but he was unaware of this. When I Googled it then it was there/ It's a recall as per Mitsu site. http://www.mitsubishicars.com/recall I think the biggest problem agents have is that they don't have a database of Lancer owners. Since a very few take vehicles there for service etc. If someone owns a Lancer 2005 - 2007 better to talk to the agent and get it fixed. I'm going there tomorrow, so I will keep you posted... Cheers,

Steerign Wheel Srs Airbag Sensor Failure After Wheel Alignment
andunslg posted a question in Mechanical problems
Hi, When I did the regular service, service station did a OBD2 port based sensor scan. Then they showed me that SRS airbag sensor is failing in steering wheel. They assumption was this can happen due to wrong wheel alignment. I did a wheel alignment recently. Can that be true? Thanks
