Heya, I have an automatic 2008 Suzuki Swift and recently it's been shaking/vibrating/juddering quite noticeably when the engine is turned on (whether it's cool or warm). I've always waited for the engine to warm up for a few minutes before driving it, so I really don't know what's going on. I've also noticed that when I put the windows down, the sound of the engine when accelerating is quite unsettling, sounds like a long and loud dry wheeze, I can't really describe it. It just sounds really unhealthy. I also remember one time when the accelerator just stopped working while I was driving (felt like it ran out of gas but I had just filled it) before any of this vibration stuff started, so I pulled over, waited, and then it started working as normal again. I literally have no clue what I'm talking about when it comes to mechanical terms and all that jazz, I just thought I'd come here to ask what's actually wrong with it before taking it to a mechanic. My dad knows quite a lot about cars but he isn't here at the moment so I thought I'd come here to get some helpful info to pass on to him. I read somewhere that it could be something to do with the cylinders; if it is I can give some more information later on, but for the moment I'm just looking for what this issue could possibly be. Dear All, My car is Toyota 121, 2003. It is good running Engine, but these days fuel consumption is very low in traffic, earlier 13 - 14 done. but now it s doing only 9 -10 can you tell me the reason. and I am going to service my car next week. tell me what is the recommending oil and filters. ( My car is Manual gears.) On the other hand i wont to know what is the recommended lube oil for Diesel heavy vehicles, DS 40 or SAE 40 and why?

I own an Eg8 and there is a burning smell coming from the engine when going at high revs is there any idea why it happens.

Hi everyone! This is my first question on this forum So I have a 2002 Ford Mondeo 2.0l and the issue with it doesn't go over 4000 rpm when accelerating. Engine starts to miss a bit at 4000 and hangs there. All I know is that the previous owner has changed the stock injectors to injectors from a different 1.5l Engine. (I know right ! ) So I was wondering whether this could affect the rpm. (That might sound like a no shit question but please do help me). All I've been doing after I bought the car was replacing what was messed up with genuine parts. Thanks in advance

Hello good people! We have a 1982 KE-72 wagon which have two main issues. 1) In first and second gears engine gets slowed with A/C on. This happens only with A/C powered on. Without A/C it works perfectly. And only in 1st and 2nd gears this slowness appears. In 3rd and 4th gears engine runs smoothly. This slowness wasn't there before. It was running okay even though it felt under powered with A/C. 2) In 4th gear around 80kmph engine makes a huge noise. That with A/C too. Without A/C doing around 100kmph is okayish but after that again that huge noise comes. I honestly was afraid if this thing will blow up. Is this due to engine degradation? It's got almost 300k in odo. Are there anything can be done to restore it to a better state if it's engine degradation? Or this might be some mechanical problem? What things can be done to solve this may be? Thank you

Hey guys, Need ur input in sorting this out. I have a carina AT 170 for 3 years and im happily running it H/E, the engine is close to under compression and I am thinking of replacing the engine instead of repairing it. Current Engine - 5AFE carb engine Problems with current engine - Blackish oil..Carb is okay but not at its best. - Does about 7-8 in city. Previously did about 9-10 but I run about 1500 kms per month, slowly has gone down and as per the mechanic ( who did a good job previously) says the carb and the engine is also UC. The car was running on gaas previously as well (previous owner mucked it. not me ) - Bit noisy - Doesnt leak oil, but there is a bit of oil on the top of the engine. I thought of plugging in a 5AFE EFI engine. and I need ur input on this on these factors; - Whats needed to be done? Replacement of engine/computer box/ and fuel pump? Anything I should be worried about? - I have got a good engine for a cheap price...Any clue if i can buy the computer box separately? and fuel pump separately? - Any good places where I can get a good engine? If its a very good carb engine I do not mind actually. Any places I should start looking from? - Last but deffa not the least, has anyone on this forum done this to AT 170 or any car similar? Thanks

I have a Mitsubishi L200 252-xxxx vehicle. K14TJUNSR model. In that there is a old and damaged heat insulator between dashboard side of the engine compartment. Is there a place to repair it or get a new one? Thanks!

Guys, I need a Toyota KR41 (Townace – Noah) carburetor engine (5K, 1500cc) and a manual gearbox (5 forward). [This engine is not using nowadays as I know. Almost all are converted to diesel.] Does any of you know a place I can look for..? I've heard that there is a place converting KR to CR in Wadduwa. Do you guys have a contact number..? I have a 2002 VW Bora 1.6 and I recently noticed a strange grinding sound when the engine exceeds 2000rpm.. This issue is not always there though..it comes and goes..This sound comes when the gear is neutral as well as when the car is moving.. I have recorded the sound..Can be viewed by following the link below.. I also noticed this ticking sound when the engine is on...Not sure if it's normal or not.. your expert advice is highly appreciated..

Hi Friends, I need your expert advice related an engine swap of a 4DR5 J44 jeep. Currently it has 4DR51 engine and modified with power steering and AC compressor. What possible engines will it be able to swap with? I mean considering the options it has, what newer engines that can be considered which support in built power steering and AC? Also please give the differences of 4DR55, 4DR6 and 4DR7 engines which I do not know any detail about those. (Did a Google search but couldn't find any). My EK3 is having a D15Z7 engine and I was perviously faced corrotions on my spark plugs. But now it became worse.... my tappet cover and injector system was cracked. :-( Mechanic said its due to over-heating and he said I need to replace engine. But cant I just replace this particular parts?? If it is possible, where can i find this whole unit??

Hi Guys, hope you all having a wonderful time out there getting ready for X mas and new year!!! This issue came to my brother's car which is a Mazda BJ5W triptronic. its mileage read 103K. issue was that the engine was subjected to sudden stop while its been running in few occasions. Every time, the engine stops suddenly, while the car is been running for few hours and not when it is starting after been parked or during cold starts. The issue comes up randomly. As a result, the mechanic asked to replace theair cleaner hose which was also damaged, but the problem doesnt seem to be solved.. Today he has gone to Colombo to get some work done and on the way home after 1 hours ride the same problem has occurred. engine had suddenly stopped and had to wait for 45 minutes to 1 hour to get the engine running again. when he had tried to start the engine in between that time a sound had come which is similar to one you get when you try to start a hand tractor as if the engine trying to start without fuel and backfiring. also the engine oil indicator had been on for the whole time. He had taken the car to the mechanic and he had told that it might be something wrong with the fuel pump. however he could not identify the problem properly as the engine was running properly when the car is taken to the mechanic. Can someone held me to determine the exact problem and whether replacing the fuel pump would solve the problem? Is there a place to run a diagnosis test on MAZDA BJ5W triptronic model as most of the places he had taken there are not programmed for BJ5W. I am not sure whether this information is enough for you to determine the problem but please help us to solve this issue. Thanking you guys and take care 11

Dear All, I read the below text in the wiki site about the K series engines, Suzuki evolved a New Model "Alto K10". Powered by three-cylinder units displacing 998cc. The engine is one of the best units in it class and is the only 1.0 litre twin cam engine available. The engine produces 68PS at 6200rpm and a healthy torque rating of 90Nm at 3500rpm. Car has 5-speed transmissions and is smooth to operate. However the Alto's feels a tad better to use. The engine too is more refined and not as harsh as contemporaries. After several Checking i found it happen due water leaking from small horse from engine to car dash board side.(there are two same type horses and i think it will use for heater) what are the best method to avoiding heat ***Shall i use sillicon gum(water proofing ) and sealed. ***or remove that horse and sealed with endcap Please give me proper solution please

Dear Members, Feel my Toyota Starlet does not has enough power to climb hills, When I drive 4th gear in flat road and change gear when climbing hill to 3rd gear Car become very slow and need to go back 1st gear and accelerate, Sudden acceleration not properly happen. Hey guys! I am interested in buying this CK2 that I saw today. It is in really good condition, except for some minor bodywork. The engine is in immaculate condition and it runs perfectly, but I have a question about that. There is like a huge empty space on the upper right side under the hood. I did a test run and the vehicle runs very smoothly. Im not much of a mechanical minded guy...but that empty space is just driving me crazy. I don't know if i should buy the vehicle or not. Very confused. I wanna know if all CK2's come like that or if anything needs to be fixed. I've added a google pic and pointed out in red; the section that looks empty. Btw, im not sure if that air filter (if im right) was there...can an engine run smoothly without an air filter? (again, I suck at the auto mechanics, so please take it easy on me) Car specs: Lancer CK2, YOM - 2000, One owner (Company Maintained), 1500cc, Manual. Please explain in simple terms. Thanks

I came across this weird situation today which I did have a bit past experience with. On my way to work in the morning I overtook a few cars and bikes (going slowly) on a stretch of road and had to slow down after a few meters as there was a junction coming up and there was a bit of traffic. I was on the third gear and the car pulled to about 4000rpm, problem was when I slowed down and came to standstill at the junction my engine had died without giving any indication. A turn of the key and it was back on again. What do you guys think is the issue? Prior to this I had the same problem but it went away when I cleaned the plug chambers and put in new plugs. Been having a few problems for the past week where when the engine temperature goes to the quarter point the car seems to misfire when you let the engine slow down giving it a boxer engine sound. But if I let off the gas it will settle down again. I'm wondering whether both these incidents are related. I have checked on water being in the plug chambers as well as the aircleaner which is new. I've got new plugs and both plug wires and ignition coils are in good order. There is no check engine light or anything coming up.

Hi Guys, Am having a huge problem with my GDI. Rescently I changed the 4-Wheel actuator (vaccume valves as they call it) and did an injector cleaning. Since then my IO does ok on eco drive, but when I gun it down for quick acceleration, engine revs pass 5 but the vehicle never picks up. (The gear is not seems to be shifting) Before going for this repair, engine rev went down tremendously when the vehicle is idle (at traffic jams) to the point of almost stopping. The injector clean was supposed to clear it out according to the diagnosis performed. (But didn't had this problem of engine rev and no pickup. The pick up was fine.) The actuator was changed due to the constant blink of 4-WD light. The mechanic who changed it inserted the part from a pajero v6 and assured me IO and V6 has the same circuits. Also my ATF level seems to a good two three inches be above the maximum level. Any information regarding this problem? Is having a ATF level above max a problem? Can it cause any side effects? Can the new actuator cause this problem? I read in a post that "idle air control valve or your fact idle valve is not working properly, all two of these are housed in the throttle body.You can try cleaning the throttle body firet if it dont work you knpw what to do." Any comments on this? Plus if there are any similar probs post on this forum can you guys kindly share the link with me, I did a rough search but could not find a related post. Thanks.

Hi guys, Hope everyones keeping well. The reason for this post is, I got a two door Starlet NP90 diesel with an engine running slighlty under compression. I still should be able to use it sometime but if ever I decide on replacing the engine, is there a possiblity for me to go for a Turbo Diesel engine? Would you recommend this and has anyone of you done this before? what might be my best swap option and what might be the cost? Also, I've seen some starlets with ABS. My car doesn't have ABS but the wire harness which connects to the ABS unit under the bonnet is here. Is there any possiblity of enabling ABS? Thanks in advance!

I owned Toyota starlet ep91 MT and im very new to driving ( 3 wks) some times with my poor clutch balancing car engine switch off. but when this happen in hill (with high degree ) car rolling back and this situation it is hard to tackle. my problem is, when the situation of Engine switch off in high hill, im try to push break paddle but car not stop rolling back, and it is very hard to push the break paddle. (Some time this happen when switch of when reversing) But when im driving it is not happen and break work in good condition. cld you pls explain me is this is normal condition ( because some one say that with engine off, it is not support to breaking system ) thank you Amila
