  1. Guys, After a long time. Hope you all are keeping well. As a change this time, I bought a NON-Peugeot car...? . Toyota Caldina diesel (CT190). I ran for a week and started developing cough and phlegm. The AC cooling was really poor. Also some burnt smell. So yesterday, I shutoff AC blower completely and lowered the front shutters and ran. Both side from the front bottom, heat air is coming very aggressively....?. But there are no any visible uncovered area near the carpet. What can be the problem? How we can fix it? When car is on neutral with AC the RPM is 1200. Is this high RPM causing this heat air? Guys I am getting giddiness symptom also after driving the car for approx 20 kms. How we can identify the root cause of this problem and sort this issue? Please help. The engine is 2C turbo engine. Thanks.

My GP1 (2011) AC was repaired by Stafford on a same day they changed the Air bags.they have done a service and replaced 8 "O"rings ( i was not there actually ,I admit to garage and collect it in afternoon) . charged me 13K. it was OK for 2 weeks and today suddenly AC stopped working in a middle of the hot day. before that, car was at the car park with the AC running around 10-15 min. then when i start the journey, with in 2, 3 min time I realized this issue. I checked the AC fans and compressor Click sound , nothing. I let the car to cool down for 30 min and tried. AC start working again. compressor and fans are fine now. What could be the issue? one AC man said it could be a fail safe mechanism has been switched on and stooped the total AC system due to some kind of issue. high pressure or temperature ..etc may be i have parked the car and let the AC running for 15 min and there will be less air circulation with condenser ..etc. has any on come across this kind of issue?
  3. Guys, I have a Prado 2005 petrol one. Problem is with air condition system. it seem that there is a gas leak and technician advise me to replace cool box since the issue is with it. My concern is that to replace this he needs to remove complete dashboard. Please let me know is there a other way to replace it with out removing the total dashboard ?

    i am using toyota axio 2008 and notice AC is not working when is accelerating 60-100 km /h with normal speed ac is working ac technician advice me to replace the compressor pls advice
  6. In my Jeep when ac is ON a crying noise is coming when going forward. But when it's OFF it's not coming. Some says it's coming from ac compressor and need to change. I have serviced also but they did not tell for any issue. Cool is ok but less in the noon with very hot times. Do you know what type of a compressor it has and whether I can put a passo compressor reconditioned to this. What is the cubic capacity of passo. Mine is Terios Cargo Volume13.4 cuFT OR 379 L
  7. I drive a Mazda Demio 2007 model and it gives a rattling noise when I turn on the AC. Is it a big issue or where can I get it fixed. I am fairly new to Mazda and your opinions on this are really valuable.
  8. I did a AC repair recently. After Now I get mist from AC vents when driving in high speeds. Is this normal or need to check. Water is coming out through the tube so seems no block in there.
  9. My car is toyota vitz 2008. Ac works perfectly well. But sometimes it doesn't switch on not even the AC bulb. I change the ac switch also. Did a vehicle scan and it shows no fault. Does anyone know a reason or place to check?

    AC not cooling

    I have Toyota Axio 141 made in 2012. Recently the AC is not cooling optimally in day time. When internal switch is on , cooling reduces further . But when it's off to get external air, it starts cooling again though it's not optimal. I showed it to local auto electrical Centre. There was no gas leak.Compressure was ok.The tubing cools nicely.They suspected a gas block. They replaced air and gas filters and replaces HFC 134a gas. Problem still persist. Please help me with advise.
  11. fixing Idle up vacuum relay (DIY) (This is only relevant for older vehicles which does not have ECU or can drive through an EMP Attack ) When the AC is turned on the engine RPM should raise a bit to cater for the load it gets. To do so a vacuum line coming from alternator is connected to a mechanical suction unit (idle up switch). It pulls the accelerator cable so that the RPM increases. When AC compressor turns off the electrical relay valve cut off the vacuum suction to get the engine back to it's normal idle RPM. The guy who fixed the Idle up switch to my jeep has forgotten the relay. So it always gave a high RPM at idle. I had to fix the cut off relay for that. Below is the pics of those two units.   13. Hi Experts Need advice on a small thing. Today on my way home I observed I get a vibration on my Steering wheel, seat and legs when A/C Fan kicks up, initially I thought it's something to do with A/C, but to trace the issue I drive few Kms without A/C and found that same happens when radiator fan start running. So what makes vibration is the radiator which both fans are fixed. Can I know how the radiator connects to the car body? is it nut/bolt or does that has rubber mounts like engine mounts? Whats the best approach to find the root cause? Anyone of you ever experienced similar situation? Thanks in advance.
  14. Recently my car's (Honda Civic 2010) developed an issue with AC. It wouldn't blow cold air when outside temp is very high. I only get cold air when the outside temp is low, and still it's weak. I checked cabin air filter which is new, and compressor clutch is engaging properly. If the AC refrigerant is too low,I believe compressor clutch shouldn't engage isn't it? (Not sure though). Couldn't check whether the condenser is clogged. However I couldn't isolate the issue. Is this probably because low refrigerant level? Or a leak? Anyways, What's the best place in Colombo for a honda to get this service done? Is Stafford motors any good , expensive? I recently saw bad reviews about them when it comes to repairs. Please share your ideas with a good place to get this fixed. Thanks in advance!

In my previous thread I showed videos of my VW Bora engine giving a grinding sound above 2000rpm..apperently it's coming from the A/C (no sound when AC is turned off) , Guys at Vishwa motors told me sound is coming from the condenser..Sometimes it becomes way too noisy (when the outside temperature is very hot , like around 2pm with lots of sunlight) , and it slows the vehicle down (like engine is slowed down suddenly) once every 10 seconds or so.. Since this is a German car , can normal AC repair shops do this? or do I have to take it to Vishwa Motors or Senok? How much will it cost? an approximate figure will do...thank you in advance..
  16. Hi everyone, Hope you all are doing good. I'm writing this after standing many hours in AC garages during the past year many a time. Almost every 2 - 3 months. Before that for an year or so I used to keep on adding refrigerant, only twice for the year then. But now the leak has gotten worst. Last time I repaired it was not more than 1.5 months ago and still the problem is there. Car AC system leaks refrigerant. Then I stick to a single place to do every repair but still the leak is there. However they managed to find some tiny leak every time. And last time it was nitrogen pressurized and checked for leaks and it did not expose any leaks to the mechanics. And I ended up spending a lot for AC repairs thinking it will be fixed but now I'm disappointed. Its an old car, 1996 Lancer, but this is the only major problem I got. Is there anyplace you know where they will analyze the system with UV ink for checking the leaks? Or do you suspect anything, can it be the compressor? Please help.   17. Need help from experts & owners who experienced same situation before. My car is Kia Rio(2003 model) Continuous rattling noise came from engine bay from compressor and it was compressor clutch plate. As suggested by A/C technician I replaced, 1.Compressor clutch plate 2.Pulley assembly 3.Bearing 4.A/C hose (since there was a leak-confirmed by dye test) 5.Filled gas Now I've noticed that the AC will no longer blow cold air if I've been idling too long (either parked, sitting in traffic, at a long traffic light, etc.) Once I start driving again, it cools back down like normal. Now technician is suggesting me to replace compressor which will cost me 17,500/- (reconditioned), 34,000/- (brand new) Already I've spent 12,000/- regarding this issue. Now i'm bit confused and seeking some advice on 'what to do' ?
  18. Dear Friends, My car is Toyota Corolla AE110 (1998 / Auto / Petrol) My car's radiator fan working continuously. Today I checked the car and found the fault. There is a problem on AC pressure switch. The switching terminals are always open, so the relay of radiator fan is always switched on (The relay is "Normally-Closed type 4pin) So I tried to short circuit the AC pressure switch terminals by a tweezers. It was successful and radiator fan was turned off. Then I pointed the problem is on AC pressure switch. I have to replace it. But If I removed it, I will have to refill the AC gas. So I have to go for a professional auto Electrical workshop. But it is not the main problem, When I do the AC pressure switch short-circuit, by mistake I have short circuited wrong terminals. Now there is no voltage on AC pressure switch. AC is not working, AC light indicator and AC Fan is not working. I checked all fuses, but I couldn't find AC fuse in my car. I need to check it and repair by a qualified technician. Please advice me to, what is the best place to solve this problem. What about "Pala auto electricals"? I am planning to go there tomorrow.
  19. Hi All, I'm having an issue with my A/C. Sometimes it goes to "Auto" mode without me doing anything and no A/C at all. I have tried to turn the A/C off. Then the text call "Auto" start to blink in the display. After 10-15 mins A/C is on again. Seems like something wrong with the sensor, but I'm not an expert so I thought someone in the forum might have come across a situation like this and will be able to help me out. Thanks
  20. I'm having a Toyota Corolla NZE121 G Grade 2004 (This model has reverse lights in the dickey) and when I start the car and press the AC button on the AC starts but blows normal hot air. Then after 2-5 mins cold air starts to come out. Once the cold air starts to come out the AC continues working fine without failing again. The only issue is that there is a delay of few minutes for the cold air to blow. I've checked the fuse box and this model doesn't have a MG-CLT relay installed. And when I check the AC compressor I can't see the magnatic clutch from out side. I checked with the AC technician and he said this model doesn't have magnatic clutch and has a belt type unit. And also he said there might be issues with control valves. He said the solution is to replace the compressor with a unit with a magnatic clutch. Does anyone have an idea about this problem and how it can be fixed.

  22. Hai brothers, So I got my first car, a vw bug 1960 And I was wondering where can I add AC to this? Ive seen 5 or 6 with AC in srilanka but I donno where to find them anymore. Ive already asked VW motor works, and im waiting for a quotation Any place you guys know of? And wot disk break kits would you guys recommend? Thanks in advance
  23. Hi All, has anyone happened to rewind the compressor coil. can you recommand some places (PM me) which does good repair work. my car AC suddenly stopped working and the technician who inspected told me compressor does not engage because the coil is burnt. did anyone experience the same issue?
  24. Dear Expert. there is a sound on when start AC on my FB 15. It not seems like regular sound that AC belt faulty ( Not such huge noise). When i drop water in to the AC belt when it is working that sound stop. after some time later again it came. Some time it may be belt issue. ( according to my point of view it happen due " Belt Eka Kara weema or Rough of the belt) , Is anyone have solution for this issue or will i have to replace AC belt. ? your answers are valuable
  25. Hi All, I'm a newbie to this forum and I have a small issue to be clarified from you guys. I have a 1994 Lancer CB2A and it has a two way AC knob (I guess some other cars also have). When i press it once the AC turns on and the backlight turns amber. when I press it deep again the backlight changes to Green. Is it the former one (Amber position) related to AC economy mode or something? can u guys explain the difference between these two modes (Amber and Green)? Thanks in advance.
