Interior Specialists? Every time I go over some bumps my seats squeak quite loudly and there is a massive rattle of a nail undone coming from inside the dashboard, anybody got any suggestions I could go to? My usual mechanic just said "turn the radio up"
-
@Hyaenidae Yeah that's the issue, but it is so loud dude, no point in me spending so much on the suspension and related tit bits if the car dashboard is just rattling like a jackhammer, so frustrating.

I woke up one day and I now want to buy a W140. The brain works in mysterious ways. It definitely doesn't understand the concept of money since I am nowhere near affording one.
-
@Gummybr yessir, I made a decent return on some crypto but then I saw some Omega Speedmasters on Chrono24 and hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

WRC is going to ditch the hybrid systems and go pure ICE to reduce costs. They will save on weight and save money building cars making it easier to get into racing. They will however look at full EV rally class later on.

Kinda want to buy an unreliable German, idk life seems to be too peaceful these days?
-
@AVANTE makes sense, just means it'll take a bit longer for the capital to come around but should be worth it

@matroska haha you bet, not sure if I want to sell the Camry, but I kinda want to see what the other side of reliability has to offer, regardless of any car I get its only going to be a weekend toy since my 9-5 is WFH

I drove a 2013 Premio for 400km recently. It was the full works. G Superior Badge, Doctor Badge and an owner who kept on claiming it was the ideal car.
0-80% of the Throttle amounts to 0-20% of power and the last bit is where the rest of the powerband lies (more like nopowerband), it had a hard time keeping speed at 140 on a highway, but i will say the suspension is very pudgy and comfortable. Features wise it had the same stuff (sans Cruise Control, Auto Wipers) to my 9 year older car. Good fuel consumption though?-
@fiat fan yep pearl white, car broke in Arugambay, the throttle sensor module got jammed for some reason and it refused to accelerate (would just idle).
@matroska tbh I like the Camry's insulation better, but I like the noises my engine gives when i give it the full beans so I'm not the best person to ask this. Also yeah, that car has not been maintained at all, we learnt there was no coolant in the radiator after we went to Arugambay. The mechanic we found also took one look at the throttle area and said "the owner of this car doesnt drive fast does he?", needless to say I gave it a good Italian tune (drive it like you stole it, much to its discomfort, and a weird belt noise that came from the front idk). Also lmao "calming" istg these guys will come up with the most absurd shit to justify a purchase.@iRage bingo, it was a 1.5, honestly if you could afford the fuel, I'd 100% choose a Mark X or a newer Camry over this everyday of the week and twice on Sunday. I remember going full throttle for a good 10 -15 seconds only to be like "wtf do you mean I'm only doing 60!?!" when the Camry would be in the triple digits, I guess just difference in needs and wants

After owning the Camry for 2 years I just realized I have never been driven in the backseat. The only other person who has driven the car other than myself as well is my Mechanic

What does everyone here think of the new locally assembled Hyundai Grand i10?
-
@iRage that is possible yes, I'm not complaining

@Gummybr Ferentinos are quite good, I put them on my car from Continentals and I still get comments on how the car feels like a cloud (although that may be also because I spent a shit ton on rebuilding the suspension when I got the car)

Gearbox seems to refuse to go into Drive without being warmed up now, it has gotten considerably worse in the past year, quick investigations suggest that it is time to rebuild the Gearbox, there's a place that offers 6 months warranty and has the repair kit for it. That's 75k (25k of it being the damn fluid) gone
-
@matroska looks like it!

@Hyaenidae haha thanks buddy, padinawa hadanawa, restaurent eke wathura order karanawa, that is the life!
@PerfMad haha! Yes that's where I got her fixed, took only a day :D, have to do a cold start to see if issue is fixed, they used the RAV4 Kit (2AZFE and Gearbox are the same)!

RIP Dietrich Mateschitz, what you did to the motor racing community is great with all the support that you have given in all kinds of motor racing.

I've checked close to 20 Rextons and out of those only one was in good condition (running, exterior and interior) rest were hacked in some sort of a way. And the best excuse they give is these are now old vehicles so you can't expect it to be brandnew.
I don't expect it to be brand new. But those can't be hacked like you drive a rented vehicleUnfortunately the one I like is not for sale anymore, so the hunt is still on..
-
@PerfMad yeah no point just nod and find for a better specimen.

-
I will never buy a Black Color car again, crow shit leaves stains on the paint if its literally only there for a day. Now gotten into waxing it everytime I wash it.

I wonder what will happen to the rather optimistic nissan leaf pricing now...
-
@GK_007 a 2014?!? If the battery wasn't replaced on that car its going to be a very expensive paper weight.

Soo, since I got the 20l today I thought of going to pump fuel since I've done 120km (Spirited Driving in Convoys often means I do about 6-6.5kmpl) and to my surprise car only took 14l after a lot of trying, suggesting 8.5-9kmpl average for city driving. I guess now we know how much 2.4 Liter Camry's do in City if you use the AirCon Sparingly
-
@Educated_Buyya bruddah DM me, 2.5 mil is too much, I will give for 2.0 mil also will throw G Superior Badge for you

@matroska definitely unheard of, people will laugh at me if I suggest that I got 9kmpl when I travel inside of inner Colombo in a 2400cc car

Thinking of selling my barge and downsizing to a beater.
Barely drive it now.
B211, Box Lancer etc-
@Hyaenidaeyeah that is true, I might keep it for a year more and get a beater on top of the Camry.
@matroska that is true, now is not the time to sell, especially with quota system and high fuel prices.
@Gummybr I've started to walk, anywhere that is 5km in range, I walk XD

The first victims of the fuel crisis are unsurprisingly the barges - everyone seems to be selling them and the classifieds and facebook groups are flooded with them. Prices are dropping rapidly and I really really hope a few enthusiasts get hold of them for a reasonable price else it would be really sad to see them rust away 😞
-
@iRage a 75 liter tank on the contrary XD

Guys I need to change my tires (Continental ContiComfort CC5s) as they are now really old and have started decaying and all that. My tire size if 205/65/15 but I cannot get a hold of them (unless Chinese tires) 195/65/15
-
Thanks @Hyaenidae I went and bought some 195s!

So the Starlet was finally taken in to get all the bodywork sorted out, including the paint - The actual color code of the car was the 80's Toyota white (040) - however some previous owner had painted it gold and updated the CR - I'm pondering to go with white or gold
