The brand, type and viscosity of the oil you currently use sounds fine but i'd be more concerned about the oil level decreasing....

Any noticeable leaks? Any residue under the car when parked overnight?

How much oil do you top up and how often (in terms of km's run between top ups?)

still no leak founded,  oil level is between High and low ( half level), top ups in nearly 3 months ago.

    Thanks for your support.

I replied to you on the other thread.....That seems fine for a vehicle with that much high mileage....why do you not like the oil you are using ?

Finally...please do not go around asking the same question on multiple threads....

one of my friend told me recommended viscosity is 10W-30. actually i have no idea of current engine oils brands. that why i'm searching this on AL to get an idea for me. also i think this will helpful for others too.

I'm New to AL and thank for your support...

My Car is TOYOTA Corolla AE110 (1998 / Petrol / Auto)

When I start and shift the gear to "D" position, the car is moving forward smoothly.

When in "R" position, the car is moving backward smoothly.

But after travel few kilometers (After heat up the engine), above functions not working smoothly.

In this situation, when I shift the gear to "D" position or "R" position car not moves and engine shakes little hardly.

Needs to press the accelerator to move the vehicle.

When in high speed (I mean more than 30kmph) it's moving very smoothly.

Recently I have done a tuneup by a person who lives in Cotta road.

He checked and said all are working properly. (Actually I can't satisfied about his service)

I have cleaned the fuel injectors by ultrasound 3 months ago.

And, replaced engine mounts, silencer mount, air filter, fuel filter, spark plugs and all belts (including timing belt) 3 days ago.

But the problem is still same. Please help me to solve this problem.

    Thanks.

    Dear Sampath,

Could you please share idea of your car engine oil type and brand?  that's help me lot

The Corolla never came in a EX Saloon (i.e. no model AE110, or any other Corolla model came in a EX Saloon).

There is no way I can tell you whether the SE Saloon or "EX Saloon" <which never existed> you are looking at is newer.

The E110 Corolla was manufactured between 1995 and 2000.

    From 1995 - 1997 : E110 Corolla was called the Taxi model

    From 1997 - 2000 : E110 Corolla was the Crystal light model

All E110 Corolla (from 1995 - 1997) had the following base grades

    1. SE Saloon (highest)

    2. XE Saloon

    3.LX

    4. DX (lowest)

With the crystal light Corolla there was an additional grade called GT.

Sometimes these grades got limited packages...like G package, Reviere, L Limited, etc....

When it comes to cars (i.e. any car); 80% of the time you CANNOT determine if one car is newer than another car just by looking at the grade.

If you are looking at a EX Saloon Corolla....you are looking at something fake. Corolla never had a EX Saloon. It was XE Saloon.

If you are trying to figure out if a SE Saloon is newer or a XE Saloon is newer. Don't. You can't fiure it out just by looking at the grades That is like asking if a kolikottuwa is newer than a seeni kesel. To find out which car is newer. Ask the owner and check the documents of the car.

    Dear iRage,

Could you please share the experience of your 110 car engine oil. it will more helpful for me.

My car is a 1998 corolla AE110 and from last month, having small oil leak from distributor. For last two three days there is a strange sound coming when accelerating and it’s only comes in 2nd gear onwards.

if anyone have idea about the issue and appreciate your recommendations on good mechanic/garage  to fix this issue.

    Dear Wijever,

What is your engine oil brand and viscosity? this is for my information

The oil leak and noise are probably two different things. Get the distriburor o-ring replaced to fix the oil leak. It's an easy repair.

As for the noise, it's hard to say based on what you've said. Take it to a good garage and have a mechanic test drive the car to find out what the actual issue is.

    Dear Davy,

Could you please suggest good branded engine oil for AE110?
