  1. @Hyaenidae just saw your comment? that would indeed be cool! Saw some teamBHP guys have done it too. But of course the minister of home affairs is againsts such things and it would make the car a bit 'unsellable'. But leaving the prius way of thought aside, love the sport! Perfect hot hatch for our island.
  2. Yeah, I have heard of hose fabrication somewhere in Colombo, a buddy with a Glanza V did his hosing in silicon IIRC. Can you suggest a place davy? If so what is the cost I should expect for a full hose set fabrication? Also, are those 'universal/flexible chrome hoses' for like $25 in ebay reliable?? Or is it trash like those $500 ebay turbo kits? Tbh I find it hard to trust.
  3. So.. do you have a chance of being denied coverage in case of an accident?CB4 is just pure awesome though. Still looking around for a Volty 250. NS200 is awesome, and my friend had one before he bought a fireblade. I dont have that indians are shit idea. But of course the build quality is lacking and vibrations can be unbearable sometimes. Since the NS lacks torque, I had to rev it up like you said but damn it's fast! Even the prices are real cheap! FZ25 is good but right now, the depreciation is hitting bad so I don't want something that will lose like 50k to 100k an year. Waiting for prices to drop. Have been on one as a pillion, and almost fell off the bike twice when the bugger twisted it too hard, despite grabbing the rails firmly (PURE torque monster). Also since I ride an FZ V2 right now, I have no doubts that the 250 will be the same bike except rear disk, LED head & bigger engine! Also KTMs ? they sound like threewheelers and are painful to ride. Also, a classmate of mine crashed his 6 months old RC200 badly and DPMC is charging nearly 160k for repairs ?
  4. Hi, @Davy & @tiv...so I removed the hose and got a new one too. Clamps all right. The metal part has badly rusted like Davy said. Before I put on the new hose, what should I do?
  5. I'll inspect and see whats up. And it was a mix of coolant & water. But I forgot to inspect the coolant before buying the car (it was mostly water) so we changed that once we bought it. But it seems the damage has been done.
  6. I went out for a 10 minute drive, and by the time I park & switched off the engine, I hear the fan come on & a slight hiss. Opened the hood to find out coolant being sprayed from the hose, near the clamp... quickly switched off the car and the spraying/leaking stopped. Some google searches tells me the clamp might have deteriorated and that it's good to change to a screw-type clamp. But I just want to double check as I'm DIYing this one. Had changed a clamp in my bike's radiator before but this one sounds a bit different. So, new clamp or new hose??
  7. @Hyaenidae found 4 for $5.30! Thanks!!
  8. @LashNeo, searched AliExpress and couldnt find the Zuki ones but those caps aren't cheap. I guess same for ebay but I'll keep searching.
  9. Wasnt there a rumour that all this was created to help sales guys clear out their stocks quickly?
  10. Need a pair of silver caps for the Swift's 14 inch alloys. Where can I order them for cheap or does anyone have a spare pair lying around? I need some as soon as possible cause it's annoying me ? Diameter is about 5.2cm. Previous owner lost them during servicing. thanks in advance!
  11. Stopped by Link Lanka in Kandy & there was a beige E320 W140, a red Jag XJ6 & an under-restoration MG roadster. Owner claims the Benz & Jag used to belong to the late P.M.Chandrika & President J.R. Jayawardane respectively, and are both for sale! :0

Anyone going to Kandy can hardly miss it. On the right side, located in a left-hand bend near Peradeniya. Just awesome..

  12. Damn.. also nice to know about your cb4! what spec is yours?? One of my friends told me that if the CB4 is registered with an MC chassis number (hornet, cbr) then its a big issue, but if it's NC then its manageable. Is this true @kadsa98? Also cops these days are smarter than ever. There were a few zoomers, a CB4 & five illegal rover mini coopers in the impound lot. Also kadsa, what are your opinions on a Volty 250? I heard parts are a bit rare & expensive compared to hondas although engine is shared with the GN250. I want a reliable japanese 250cc with plenty of torque to replace my FZ.
  13. All these cars have been discussed before, use the search bar to search about each car. Also if you want an easy to maintain and very fuel efficient car, go for a 2014/15 wagonR.
  14. So I was right by saying maintaining a Ford for a non-car guy would be hard in SL? Having a 3rd party parts supply helps. These tech companies handling car companies is now a trend in SL it seems. Future Ferrari agent en route?
  15. Well said @matroska! In an age where we are forced to buy boring bread loaves & appliances with wheels on them, this may be our last chance to enjoy a bit of the motoring experience before the cars become unsellable, financial burdens. Also, is there a permanent solution for the GP1 oil issue? Be patient with your search and hope you find the perfect ride! @B@tman
  16. Briefly: is there nothing one can do about all those old CB400s running 250cc registration? Can't you re-register or maybe pay the extra taxes/fines and get legal 400cc documents for it?
  17. Good to know! But: DCT will be problematic to maintain nah in our conditions? Since Mazda's a part of the equation (suspension), it's safe to say that a bit of the 'driving matters' policy is there too?
  18. @Devinda_Z & @alpha17 all things you guys say are true! I'm not dissing fords but for someone who doesn't know his way around an 'uncommon' brand might have a hard time I guess. It's also a recommended first car for teenagers in europe & the US though. Heck even the looks have aged well! But honestly, I wonder how the resale is? Japs are out of the question. But how good is it by itself? Compared to the chevy beat, fiat punto, BMW 118i, Audi A1 & similar non-jap hatches. Also do we have both european & thai models here?
  19. Oh, that sucks for the swift. Such a handsome car with loads of options & tuning potential/reliability. Wish to see a review on your corolla! Also I think you meant 'clock'
  20. Wait..So what's the Macan's role now? Larger family hauler? Also a bit biased here, but I don't understand why no one is importing the new swift sport 1.4 turbo? It's a real quick grocery getter so it's a bit surprising there aren't any.. Or are there any in the island that I'm unaware of?
  21. Such a sweet (and cute) car, the looks are nice IMO and yeah, the attention part is true! Good to learn about the off-road capability & LED lights. Should have also seen the commercials they played in japan for this car. They even have anime-like ads for it! One question: can you emphasize on parts rarity? Like are headlights thaaat rare? Also does the wagonR share ALOT of mechanicals or is it just the hybrid system?
  22. @kush didn't know we had the newer corollas here, that too the sport version! Would like to see a review on that corolla and the Macan too!?
  23. You're right, it's their system (trick) and obviously it sucks. If not for the 3rd party vendors and suppliers, I guess the car culture in sri lanka would be pretty dim/reserved for richies hobby by now.
  24. Genuinely happy to hear you have sorted the issue out! Also how are these agents getting away with all these incompetencies and scams? A friend's swift had alot of white smoke emitting from the exhaust. Inspection by A*W concluded that an engine overhall was due (somewhere north of 150k), when in reality the problem was that it needed a new gasket & valve stem seals (which only cost him 15K) Same for my FZ, when my dad had an accident 6 months back. Our local Yamaha dealer (also supported by A*W) quoted 35K for total repairs. They were trying to sell us SETS of parts instead of the specific bits.(finally did it for 11K through a trustworthy mech)
