  1. I've noticed that the vehicles being inflated are the models that are still in production and were still being imported into the country before the ban, this includes minor facelift cars as well. (240s, A3s, Vezels, GP5 etc..) But the older models on the other hand are still at the same rate and in some cases, even cheaper..as people in the lower budgets (under 2.5 mil) have a higher possibility of confronting financial issues due to the aftermath of the pandemic, hence they are ready to sell as soon as possible. So people looking to buy decent mid range cars like the E46, FBs, AEs, GP1s, etc are safe. Just don't fall for the sellers baloney and statements like "import has stopped neh" don't apply to these models. This means, it's a good time for buyers in this category, as in one hand, loans are being given out at a good rate, and on the other, a considerable amount of people are desperate to sell. Latest model year Premio/allion/wagonR buyers on the other hand...well that's a whole different topic. Whoever thinks paying 12mil for a car riding a decade old platform with rear drum brakes is a good idea should be strangled, shot, hacked, burnt and thrown into meethotamulla along with the rest of the garbage this country doesn't have any use for anymore.
  2. By any chance @Luffytaro, do you have to contact details of Mr. Lalana? Do PM the details if possible, thanks in advance!
  3. My goodness that roller and its golden components did me good. Also I remember seeing a pic of the team of MG SVs in there. Such a sight.
  4. I second this. Unless it's worn out piston rings causing excessive blowby in the crankcase, the above minor things like soot buildup and PCV blockage can be the culprit. But oil coming out? You sure you haven't over filled your oil? Also how's the gasket?
  5. Guys.. What's the current 2020 situation with the galant sigmas? Seen a few rotten/scrapped cars. How's the parts availability now? Why don't these cool looking things get much recognition?

  6. This is what the borgward badge adorns now? Eeya
  7. It can be done. It's a common issue with Peugeot 406s where the display looks exactly like the above due to the lankan heat and conditions. Can order the film from ebay and replace I heard.
  8. Thanks bro! I get what they mean by the 70s reminiscence. The same things were said about the TW and VanVan. Barebones and raw and smelly riding experience lol. Nothing to go wrong and everything you need in one vehicle. Rear Tyre feels sluggish tbh as it's oversized. It's a Continental Twinduro 150/80R18 ? original Tyre size is supposed to be 120mm lol. I'm gonna sell it to put in a 130 diameter Tyre with smoother tread for road use. This one was for dad as he wanted a nice CB250/LA Custom ever since he rode them back during his youth years. She's at the garage now, having the carb cleaned and fixed. Also found a CD125T handlebar and original badges, need to get in a set of proper mirrors from a GN125/MD90 atleast as they were the same design lol and need to print the sticker set. Yeah bro, our Lankans need to be taught about class and taste in school. Yucky mods. Saw a GN125 the other day with the frame painted neon green? Podi podi touches are needed here and there. But overall, she is a beauty. Starting her up makes my heart beat smoother haha (no kidding). V-twins are nice but parallel twins have their own place won't you say?
  9. Just got a girl an hour back from Moratuwa! Meet our newest family member! She's a 1985 CB250T. Runs fine, new tyres, just having some cosmetics to deal with (tank sticker, handlebar, mirrors, polish) and there's a minor leak under the left side carb. Also about the grasstracker.. Does it feel like a very different beast compared to the Volty then?
  10. They do. But if you don't trust them it's fine. Theres also another place in Katugastota named "Chaminda Motors". His pricing is good but he doesn't do repairs. Mechs I trust are located in Mawanella so I'm not very sure about kandy mechs. @tiv knows a good fellow.
  11. I understand what you must be feeling now. It can't be that big of an issue. There's no way the wiring harness can give issues at this age unless it has had a horrible accident in its history. Did you inspect the vehicle professionally before purchase? Whats the situation with the gearbox? Are you sure it's in good shape? Because rolling back in a hill sounds like the gearbox slipping. Whatever it is, it's fixable. Dont lose your cool. If it is gearbox, I know a guy who is trustworthy to do repairs on it. But let's hope it's not the gearbox. @fiat fan what say you? Is ShiMotor a good call for the servo pump connection repair?
  12. @alpha17 you'll like this Very nice! Wishing you many trouble free and happy miles, filled with German robustness and precision
  13. ... why do people buy Koreans? To save money?
  14. And I thought D*MO were crooks. Just curious, would the Abans Hyundai dealership be able to undertake services on the Sorento? Do list out your problems more clearly and someone would be able to recommend you a good shop hopefully!
  15. I foget bra, fogive me. Pramiyo is laxary caa but Im pesent no? They r 2 gret 4 me
  16. Ahhh the Big Boy! Congrats on the purchase and for straying away from the crowd. Lemme know how she feels in the long run. Last I saw one of these was never! Have seen a VanVan 200 though. Funny and unique look! I think it's a fun little bugger! Why don't our people have good taste at all? With stickers and bars and stuff. Volty/GN250 heart no? How does it feel? In the market for a 250cc myself for dad's sake. I considered the Volty so many times but people change my mind away from it due to parts/reliability reason. I have no clue really. BTW about your carb issue, just day before yesterday he recommended me the Kolonnawa guy I mentioned beforehand but forgot to mention yesterday due to being busy. Apologies for that!
  17. Saw a black and white pic a while back. Good question iRage.. Now this question will hover over me everytime I see a 4 mil, Suzuki semi hybrid breadloaf with HUD, LEDs and "allow wheels"
  18. Very nice and Impressive! Have a go!
  19. Lots of starlet GT/glanza Vs have an improperly closing bonnet. Why?

@MaleCortana Cars don't come with spacers out of the factory. It is something that the moders do. It was first done in drag racing cars way back during the muscle car days. It was a quick and cheap way for the kids to make the car move faster by reducing air drag in the engine compartment as well as ram in extra air.

@iRage That's definitely something I didn't know, thought high performance versions of normal cars would come with them XD

Oh no...manufacturers do not put spacers even on their GT and Touring Car championships...they just mod the bonnet with additional vents and do up dampers and such...at least so far I have not seen manufacturers use bonnet spacers.

The only time I have seen manufacturers use anything to lift the back end of the bonnet is in pedestrian safety systems (they make the hinge end of the bonnet pop up to make the bonnet sit up straight so that it gently catches pedestrians in a collision)

  20. You could download PDF manuals online and even print them. I believe there are a few on the net. Or if you want the real deal, have to find one from someone. In that case, check around the Toyota Starlet Facebook group. Congrats on your first car, quite a simple machine and easy to understand and work on. Take good care of her!
  21. Nope sorry Again nope, keep trying! Yes they do and even I admire them! Chrome is nice as long as it isn't overdone and isn't put on every damn metallic part of the vehicle
