As Factory/OEM as it can get. Not a single sticker. Original Clarion Cassette player and a 6-CD Changer in the boot. Has a very old Sony CD with old karaoke songs and Cassette in the glovebox for more 'period correct' feel. A rolling timecapsule from the 2000s.

So right! And the resulting conversion kits is the best part! Those are expensive abroad so trying one with Sri-lanka's cheap labour and potential talent can really be a game-changer! Hybrids & EVs will be the norm in the next decade or so and I'm betting it on these guys & other interesting start-ups to make them easier to own.

I do not believe in cheap labor...there should be no cheap labor. There should be fair and competitive labor rates that have a better value proposition than our competitors. As long as we keep our labor rates down we are forever going to have issues of brain drain and industries are going to suffer (especially knowledge based high tech jobs).

In fact Sri Lanka needs to get out of the whole cheap mentality.

      a. Because of cheap commodities everyone from the local bucket manufacturer to farmers are suffering (its a lot cheaper to import crap from China than to produce a decent local product).

      b. because of cheap parts we have to pay an arm and a leg for genuine parts from the agents (the local markets are filled with cheap parts which a majority go for...thus the agents have to charge a premium on the parts to stay a float because they cannot make ends meet by selling parts at reasonable rates. This applies to other sectors...

      c. Because of our cheap labor rates we always think SL products are sub-standard but our population is twisted enough to think any cheap **** is decent if it is imported.

In reality, with the advancement of the IT sector & other modern industries, I think 'this cheap labour' mentality might come to an end and it will happen soon. A few decades back, according to the elders, Sri Lankan economy was great and now things are super expensive while the wages are low and in light of the current situation, majority of the businesses are having a rough time. Such a beautiful island, truly hope we can save it someday.
