  1. Look mate..For all I know you could be a brilliant scientist or a Burger king employee. I dont care either way and it doesnt make you a higher man or a lesser man. What you do for a living is not what defines you as a person. But do be objective in your analysis. Ever growing prices , closed roads , moronic behaviour of the politicians adds to our daily woes and anybody who comes and preach that country is doing well would be piled upon. Rural people might not know any better. But we need to fight the ignorance. Admit that regradless of our brilliant kings and civilization we are a failed state economically and to an extent morally. ( Just check daily sinhala news papers to see the number of multiple murders/rapes etc) I reckon admitting our faults would be the first step to correcting them rather than just following glorified govt. propaganda.
  2. Man...apart from a brilliant analytical mind , you got an amazing memory as well...we were real mates werent we ? ...I make tea , you go and serve them to people...remember how we used to log in to net and read stupid polls and judge how well our mother country is doing? Thank god my working visa expired ...are you still hiding from the INS?
  3. BTW I participate in International Space Station program and once in a while go there to fix some really high tech , sophisticated , out of this world stuff. As soon as Sri Lankan deep space missions starts , I will come back and start the Sri Lankan Space Agency here. I looked in the sunday observer for Astronaut vacancies , but didnt find any... But from 26,000 miles up from Sea , I see Sri Lanka doing very well..As soon as tigers are finished and we start human habitation on Jupiter , SL economy will prosper and the common people will come out of the doldrums there are in.. till then, I will be in some developed country slaving away and doing over the internet situation analysis...
  4. I am not a car expert by any means, hence I mightn't be able to give you the level of technical details you require...But I will list the pros and cons from a laymans view. Pros ---- 1. Absolute pleasure to drive 2. Ample accelaration to drive in colombo roads 3. In 3 years I have been using no engine troubles at all 4. Lancer CB2 spares can be used 5. 4G15 engine, afaik has enough spares in the market 6. UM got all most anything, albeit expencive price 7. I certainly think engine is upgradeable. I have seen some websites dedicated to upgrade mirages. http://tech.mirage-performance.com/MirageG...generations.htm 8. 8-10 km/l depending on your driving style within city Cons ----- 1. Low ground clearance, gives me heart attacks on rainy days when roads get flooded. 2. Not enough space in the back seat 3. Carb model 4. Some garage ppl dont know the car model well. 5. Normal issues 14 year old car would have. eg. Waterjacket rusted etc Hope this helps. In my opinion its a great little car.
  5. No worries...Thanks for the info..
  6. I was looking for a Distributor cap the other day for my 93 Mirage CA2. UM quoted 4500 for the distributor cap and I didnt buy it cause I thought it was bit steep for that. Luckily some other mechanic checked the car later and deduced that problem was not with cap rather with distributor wires. Don - Since you are pretty much familiarized with the 4G15 and Mirage cars, any particular place you recommend to check for spare parts? Sometimes I have a bitch of a time trying to find some spares like brake hoses from Delkanda area.I can see very small cracks in Distributor cap so I reckon I will have to replace that too sooner or later. Any particular shop in Panchikawatte?
