  1. Hello everyone, I have a Daihatsu Move Conte (2015) (Toyota Pixis Space) kei car. I'm in need of replacing front shocks. After going through few web sites, it seems both Mira (Toyota Pixis Epoch) (1st gen) and this one share the same part number. Pixis Space : https://toyota.epc-data.com/pixis_space/l575a/112948/chassis/4803/ Pixis Epoch : https://toyota.epc-data.com/pixis_epoch/la300a/113020/chassis/4803/ But, people at the spare part shop told me that Mira ones are not compatible and they cannot find matching KYB part for mine. (I took the shock as a sample and I checked in spare parts shops in Kandy. I'm unable to travel to Colombo and check them due to various reasons) Any advise from experts where can I get them? Also, I heard that Mareena guys have shocks for any vehicle. How good are they?
  2. Hey, thanks for the reply. Can you recommend me a good place? Daihatsu agents are MIA and their web site is not working. Softlogic guys needs an appointment and they don't even work on weekends which I'm only free. I feel it's better I can reach a solution before this weekend as I'm afraid that my transmission system goes wrong.
  3. Can you recommend a few? If cannot post here, please Dm me. I want to check this ASAP.
  4. Gear don't shift in the sense it won't take up the speed as it should be when accelerating. I was gone nuts while trying to go incline when traveling Kandy and I saw many Wagon Rs and Hijets storm passing me. How much I tried to accelerate it won't budge me over 40-50kmph range. When put on paddle, will it have a sudden jerky movement on all CVT based vehicle? And also when it slows down, will it give a jerky feeling when about to stop? All 3 cylinders started to miss and car won't go over 20kmph. If I try to go over 20kmph, it vibrate so bad.
  5. OK. Here is the thing. I know I'm a stupid person for doing such thin without any proper research. But anyways now things are happened, I would like to ask your help guys! Earlier this year I bought a KEI car (Daihatsu Move - Toyota Pixis Space rebadged) clocked around 20k(which is obviously tampered with the mileage). After 2-3 months, I found out car is jumpy. So the mechanic recommended me to do a transmission fluid change. he used a generic CVT fluid(BG brand if I'm correct) (Remember, I don't have a knowledge of anything regarded to CVT transmission/oil grades etc...) But after 1000 or so kms, the jumpiness is till there. Then I showed my car to a place in Old Kottawa rd, who says they are experts in gearboxes. And they told me the CVT oil is not the recommended one and want to replace it again. They recommended to use Suzuki Green 2 (which is surprised for me since this is a toyota/daihatsu). I asked 2-3 times and they said the oil brand won't matter and I then they removed the sump and cleaned filter and used green2. So now I have driven around 5000Kms from the initial oil change and still the jumpiness is there and when I let go of accelerator and hit it slowly again, there is a jump. When I deaccelerate without using brake, when it comes around 10kmph, I kindda feel the little jumpiness and sluggish-ness. And it's hard to accelerate. Gears are not changing properly etc... This being so hassle for me, I started doing research. Then I found out the recommended oil which can be used is Toyota CVTF TC. Asked from Softlogic Automobile and verified it too. Then Last Saturday I again removed the sump and changed the oil with the recommended one. Now, I see a lot of improvement. Vehicle is accelerating. But, the problem is jumpiness is still there. It's not bad as earlier. But definitely it's there. So what can I do? I know that I was an idiot to trust these "maka bass" and let them change the oil as they wanted. But I'm being a guy who has 0 knowledge in motor mechanic knowledge, it's inevitable. Is my transmission system is busted or is there anything that I can do? Also I would like to mention that last week my Bnew spark plugs (Denso) failed at me (only 3000 or so KMs used it. It seems I was scammed with that too.:/ ). then I replaced them with NGks and did a tuneup. Please help me guys.
  6. The problem in my case is, my vehicle is stated as 658CC. But in the book, it's mentioned as 650CC. Not 660CC. So will it be a problem when selling the vehicle?
  7. Me neither. But wanted to get clarified.
  8. When registering an unregistered vehicle for the first time, is it normal to have rounded numbers as engine capacity? Assume the actual CC is 658CC which is mentioned with the vehicle and CR to have 650CC as the engine capacity? If these two has such difference, will it be a problem in the long run?
  9. Hey, Thanks again for the comforting words. This being my first car, I'm really concerned over this. I have no prior experience over this sort of issues. Anyway, I'll be putting this to c*rchecks and getting a report. So if all checks out, hopefully I can get the deal done by this week
  10. OK. Checked 4th vehicle. All 4 vehicle I checked had the same issue. Is it something common? Getting really worried. Because the car seems in a great mechanical condition. Is this something repairable?
  11. Thanks a lot for everyones valuable input. Now I'm thinking of keeping extra 50k-75k in case of emergency. Time to find a good specimen then
  12. Wow! That was fast. I never expected to someone reply this fast. This is really helpful. Any idea if I have the issue with steering rack, how much will it cost? And the next thing is, if we are to buy a car from out of Colombo, there is a possibility that these owners won't be willing to take them to a place like carchecks all the way. In that case, anyone with good knowledge (a good garage bass) can do the inspection? Thanks again for the detailed reply.
  13. Hello Demio owners! I'm looking to buy a Demio as my first car. I'm eying for a 2008 manufactured one. Most of them are close to 80k - 100k clocked. What sort of issues that I should be looking forward to spend my money as initial repairs? Any methods that I can check above issues? Is there a way to check if the gearbox is in good condition? (Kind of worried about this CVT maintenance issue - if the car has a CVT gearbox) I have checked 2 cars so far. Both have corrosion in top part of the body where the backdoor connects to the body. (Please see attached image). Is this something normal that I shouldn't worry and go ahead, so I can do a fix later or should I avoid this? Is this a common problem? Your help on this matter is highly appreciated.
