  1. I'm having the same exact thoughts @iRage. I actually plan to go for Cedric/Crown/Mark 2/Benz(90s e-class models) cars. The diesel variants of these are very efficient, I'm sure you know. Like you say, it seems like the prices will never return to normal given that our country situation is on a downward spiral with no proper brakes. Even though the prices of these models have doubled, I feel that if I don't buy one now, I might lose millions when I try to buy the same model next year. This IMF factor has been on my mind, but I think now it's a gamble more than anything else
  2. I am planning to purchase a full size sedan. The models I'm looking for have doubled in price or more when compared to the price in 2020. There is a talk of car prices decreasing dramatically if the SL gov go with IMF. Is this something that can happen? Or in your opinion, do you believe that car prices will only continue to rise and it's better to buy one sooner rather than later? And if so, would you recommend a diesel or a petrol? (just a reminder that petrol right now is 300~ Rs a litre and will only continue to rise. And these cars don't do better than 10-12 kmpl even in the best of conditions) Appreciate your thoughts on this.
  3. I understand what you mean entirely. I don't condone bribing. But the term that comes to your mind is somewhat correct.
  4. Absolutely I agree, I don't plan on cutting off the B pillar and be done with it. I 'm planning to install the body of the hardtop to the sedan entirely. Cutting off the pillars and strengthening it with our local baas wouldn't exactly give the same experience as the factory released hardtop does I'm just worried about the legal aspect of it
  5. Hi @iRage, thanks for the detailed reply. Actually this car comes in both hardtop and sedan versions. the interior is the exact same. I wasn't thinking of cutting of parts of the frame to accomplish it. I do not want to go into details as I don't know if this forum allows discussion of such matters 😉 Before doing so, wanted to know if there are legal issues with this conversion.
  6. Hi, there is an original 90s car which is a four door sedan. The book is original and everything is 100% legal right now. I wanted to know if it is possible to convert it to a hardtop. Is this prohibited by law? If not, does this require updating the book or relevant authorities? There is a hardtop version of this car and I love the styling of it. Any advise would be much appreciated.
  7. Haha this is true! Might have to push back the hunt for a good car by a month due to the Corona Virus. Thanks for the advise brother! :D
  8. Hey Mr Cat, Great to have such a response! This will be my daily driver. I'm good with these age old cars since my father always had cars belonging to the 80s-90s period. My brother is also an expert in cars as he is a superb detailer. The only problem is I can't find a good e30. The conditions are so bad that it will be a massive waste of money and time. The ones I saw were hacked and some were modified to the point where it's no longer an e30 lol I actually drive the Y31 regularly and I enjoy the comfort and the royalty the car brings (if there is such a thing lol). But let's see, if I can't find a good e30, going with the Cedric most probably since these two are the best cars I can get for around 1 mil
  9. Hi CNX, This is what I hear mostly for the past week I seemed to have found a good one. Will have to check it this saturday. If that doesn't seem satisfactory, I've decided to go with a Cedric Y31. There's one in mint condition. So either the E30 or the Y31. Let's see. Thanks Guys for the responses!
  10. Hi, I'm a BMW E30 enthusiast and I'm in search for a good condition e30 to purchase within this month. I've seen some cars and their conditions were so bad that one car's doors wouldn't even close properly. Does anyone here know about any E30s that might be available for purchase? There are only a very few cars listed online and most of them are in very bad condition or modified to the point where its not a BMW e30 anymore. Also do you think is it a good idea to have an E30 a first car when it comes to the repairs and maintenance. I've been warned multiple times by car guys who never had a BMW. Any leads here would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance!
  11. Hey Davy, Thanks for the response. I didn't know that. I went through the ads listed as well. Nothing interesting for the project at the price point I have. But thanks for the update
  12. Good day All, New to the forum here ;) I'm looking to purchase a car manufactured between 1960-1990 for a full restoration project. Would love to see if any BMW e34 (1984) are available. Even a Datsun b210 is okay. Original book should be available. It doesn't matter if the car is in very bad condition as I plan on working on it from ground up. I'd really appreciate if you could let me know what cars are available. Thanks in advance!
