  1. The car is still advertised on i**an(dot)lk for LKR 5,550,000. It's a 2015 model, gold color Axio Hybrid. I'm not sure whether the price is fair because, according to the original sheet, there seems to be a chip on the windscreen. Probably not easy to spot with a normal inspection one does before buying a car.
  2. I emailed him the correct certificate. He basically said that it was the supplier's fault. I don't really trust that since he should have done due-diligence before opening the LC. Didn't want to take that any further...
  3. I was trying to buy an unregistered Axio Hybrid after seeing an online advertisement. I asked the seller to send me the documents, including the auction sheet. I already had a login to a Japanese auction site and found the real auction sheet with great effort. It turns out that the auction sheet the seller sent me was FAKE! They had even changed the lot number on the sheet so that it is not easy to find the real auction sheet. Both sheets are attached. It's a gold colour Axio Hybrid, 2015 model. Please beware!
  4. Hi all, I'm planning to buy an Axio Hybrid (unregistered or registered) that is already in Sri Lanka. Can you guys recommend a place? I have seen many Axio Hybrid advertisements from some car sales in Kohuwala Dutugamunu Street area. Do you think buying the car from such a place is a good idea? Do I have to be aware of fake ODO meter readings, accident repairs etc.? If so, how can I make sure that I don't fall for any scams? (I recently moved to Sri Lanka so don't know much about these things)
  5. Thanks @matroska! That's very helpful.. Actually I'm buying the car for the utility, not as in investment. But I don't want to be in a position in a year where the car has depreciated a lot and/or I find it hard to sell it.
  6. Ha ha.. Good point! But in this case, I'm sure that I will sell this car within a year or so and go for an upgrade when I'm comfortable to get a vehicle loan. But I can't stay without a vehicle for that period, so need to buy a car for the short term. I guess it's not unreasonable to think of the reselling value under these circumstances?
  7. Thanks.. Actually I was thinking of an Axio Hybrid, because I thought it would be easier to sell later. Do Allions/Premios have a better second hand market than Axios?
  8. Hi all, I recently relocated to Sri Lanka after living abroad for some years. I want to buy a car for something in between 4 million - 5 million (could push it to a bit higher value with some effort). A used car would be okay. The one thing most important to me is the reselling value (less depreciation). This is because I might decide to sell this car next year and go for an upgrade once I've established my income in Sri Lanka. I won't be using this car a lot. I thought of asking you guys for suggestions since my knowledge about Sri Lankan vehicle market is very out dated. Thanks in advance :)
