  1. Hi Crosswind, I'm sorry for the delayed response, your insight was definitely the answer I was looking for I would go and do the needful as you have mentioned, the 25-year restriction will be the reason if I can't get it approved. I'm not sure how well it will work out but I'll take my monk cousin with me, usually, religious status has an effect on the morale of a person. Thanks once again for your response. Regards.
  2. Hi Crosswind, Thank you for the extensive input, yes as you have mentioned my dad wants to resurrect the car to its original status , unfortunately, the car was registered in 1991 for a diplomat I can understand the scepticism here I can post pictures of the car in case anyone wants to verify my legitimacy, also I'm a new member here and I talked about a rare bird. I'm really worried about the 25-year limitation but I have seen old Austin's, VW's and other classics get conversions and swaps these cars are 40+ years from registration. I can get the bill for the engine, CR, RL and the request letter as you specified. RD28 is sought after by Luxury car diesel conversions I guess, my mechanic said this can be easily sold off for 100k if I can get it up and running. Thank you for your intelligent analysis. If you can guide me on how I can proceed with the total process of converting it inbox me.
  3. So there is no way it can be converted back to Petrol, is it?
  4. It's an RD28 Patrol engine , Going back to stock RB20DE
  5. Yes Tilvin now the rego is 325 - previously it was 17 - when it was a petrol car
  6. Hi AL, Dad owns a beat up Cefiro A31, It was converted to Diesel by the previous owner he wants to restore the car to the original state the car is 27Y old, the Diesel engine doesn't run anymore. Revenue licence and insurance are up to date along with the ECO test. Advice me the process to convert the car, thank you. Regards
  7. Hi iRage, Thank you for the detailed analysis, I really didn't think as deep as you have mentioned above. It's forums and members like you that I can really appreciate on receiving feedback from. I hate the fact that I will be turning my car into a Frankenstein hack job, and will go with an engine swap with the pop-up light setup like the above. I will be posting my work by hopefully by December vacations. Regards.
  8. Hi Twin Turbo / iRage,I'm not planning to make a monstrosity actually thing is I'm going to only use the RZ-1 ChassisSo yeah I might venture into illegal waters. My contact said the book can be updated in RMV for around 2-5 LKSOr end up fabricating this with a ca18DET
  9. Hi AL, I currently own an RZ-1 with an e15t engine, the car is in bad condition I got it for 450,000LKR from Galle. I have an opportunity to get down a 200sx 1987 with the chassis for 450,000LKR the car is only 180,000 (250,000)LKR YEN FOB (Quoted by a reliable importer) The cars are quite indistinguishable to many, except for the pop-up lights in the front. Advise if I should do the Swap would there be legal implications, Can it be done as a modification in the book? the engine would be swapped to ca18DET Regards.
