  1. the luxury tax is on the amount which exceeds 3.5 million in the case of petrol non hybrid vehicle so say the cost of the car is 4.0 million. The tax free threshold is exceed by 5 laks so the luxury tax will be 5laks as the exceed amount is taxed at 100%.The 318is,C200s,Audi A3s,A5s,A4s are pretty much screwed as the CIF value is beyond 6million in most cases so that's an additional 2.5million++ ontop of the Engine capacity based taxes.
  2. nope u can't unless its a motorbike where L plates should be displayed.
  3. its not legal to drive alone with a temporary license unless its a motorbike with L plates shown
  4. 2 weeks after the medical u sit for the theory test where if u pass u get the learners permit on the same day.You have to hold it for at least 3 months before u can take the practical test and get the license.
  5. Your Clutch is on its way out consider changing it.
  6. I meant in the long run the primary intank fuel pump has to feed fuel to both the port injection(PI) rail and the secondary pump which is the high pressure fuel pump for the Gasoline Direct injection(GDI) rail so thats more stress on the primary pump. And since PI and GDI is used at low to mid range rpm and only GDI at high rpms, a GDI injector failure will have drastic effects on the combustion process at low to midrange rpms as it'll lean out the mixture as sufficient fuel is not in the combustion chamber. So a fuel system check up once every 40k kilometres might be a good idea.
  7. The eclipse has a quite complicated fuel injection system where they use both direct injection and port injection so could run you into problems if the system doesn't function properly and it won't hold its market value. The Toyota on the other hand has a less complicated fueling system and much more reliable and considerably cheaper to maintain due to the availability of second hand parts but It won't be outstanding in the performance(acceleration and stuff) when compared to the eclipse.
  8. if u drive in Colombo in traffic a lot stick to the 7500km service interval but if u do get to the chance to put you foot down often 10000km is fine use an oil with the VW 502 00 specification just check up on the compatible oils usually ranges from 5w-30 to 10w-40 fully synthetics the spec is usually written at the back of the oil bottle I usually use mobil 1 0w40 on my Audi A1.I used to drive an e46 318i with extended oil change intervals of 15000km oil it did fine no sludge build up or any other issue but given that the available Audis in the market are either 1.0 or 1.4 and turbocharged the stresses on the engine oil is considerably higher so better to stick to a conservative oil change schedule and do use original oil filters As for a place to maintain Vishwa motors is adequately equipped to handle your vehicle and D*MO Bosch Centre is fine as they both carry either ODIS or VCDS tool for VAG car maintanance.
