Do you have a recording of said hum? Is it continuous? mine does a sort of humming noise intermittently, when the AC compressor operates - UM said it might be my 7-year old belts slipping so I bought new ones, hoping to get those replaced on next service

Yes it is a continuos hum. Any major maintenance worries I need to be concerned about as I buy it? Also how is the fuel situ with this beauty?

I can be honest and unfiltered but not unbiased lol...

having driven both vehicles I'd trade a brand new Bezza for a 2011 EX in a heartbeat, especially if it has the 1600CC motor ( afaik 2011 and later EXs have it )

Hey bro. Thanks for the response. How did you find the fuel consumption in the 1.6 litre ex? I am hearing various stories. The Foreman at Unit#d Mot#rs said 14kmph? I find that very hard to believe. When I started the engine it had a humming noice. Is this normal?.

  3. Hi All,

Have always been a  fan of the Lancer EX ever since it came out. Didnt have the financial stability to buy one back in the day. AT this point in time, I have a Bezza 2018 and planning to trade this in for a Lancer EX 2011 _ I know its an older car but I have had the BEzza for 3.5 years now it will be 4 in October, I tend to get a bit bored after 3 years and start looking for different options.

How is the fuel? Maintenance? Is it advisable given the current situation in the country?

    Appreciate your honest unfiltered opinions.

  4. Yes, what we get here is the basic 1.0 litre model. Auto start stop is in the 1.3 litre advance variant which is only sold in Malaysia. Will cost LKR 6 million upwards if they were to sell the same here. So in summary I guess it does nt make a difference whether I switch to neutral or not apart from the wear and tear on the gear box?

  5. HI Guys, wanted some advice. I have used Manual cars all my life. Have occassionally driven plenty of auto's but never owned one.

I used to have a habit of switching to neutral when stuck in traffic but the sales guy told me that I should leave it in drive as it helps the Eco driving mode of the car.

Is this true? Any experience would be great to know.

Congratulations! As someone who virtually used a Perodua for several years I can vouch these little machines are very capable and provide great value for money. The agent is one of the better agents in SL in my experience. Awaiting your review on this.

Great to know. Yes i will review after two weeks. Thanks

COngrats on your new purchase. Please do update us.. I'm currently looking into the same vehicle. By the way which year model did you purchase + engine capacity ?

Hi, I purchased the Perodua Bezza Gxtra 2018 model. This is a 1000cc engine similar to the 2017 model. You may want to purchase it though prior to the anticipated hike in prices.

  8. Hi Guys

My car, toyota premio gave maximum 9km/l since i bought from first owner. After i read this forum, i went to meet Mr. Dhammika Fernando. He did a very decent job also his charges are reasonable and no unnecessary jobs done. Now it is giving 12km/l in traffic with A/C. Highway i noticed 20km/l.

    Who is this Dhammika Fernando?

Although the blank port cover  is there is the cabling/wiring there ? When you say push/start, are you just talking about the start/stop function only or the whole stupid "smart key" system ? Because if the wiring is not there, you will have to do the wire harnessing, sensors, etc...

The local Chinese ones are crap and then 90% of the people installing them are even crappier who follow no proper standards or care when splitting and joining cables, etc...so just stick with the normal key. Those smart key systems, even the factory fitted ones, are a total pain in the a**.

Used Toyota switches are cheap, but when you add the harness and the keys it gets quite pricey even though its used. If you buy the entire harness that saves the car cables from getting cut as it will be just plug and play.

Again...just use the normal key....it doesn't take much to put a key in a hole and twist. If you really really want one...just buy one with a smart key system from the manufacturer (nowadays the price is not that different and what ever the difference is you will have to spend on getting a crappy after market system involved and the risk of it going bad).

thanks for the feedback. Guess ill stick to the normal key.

Do you have to wait until it’s delivered or it’s ready to pickup? The reason I’m asking is when I bought my first Viva it was in stock, but when I bought the Viva Elite they said it will be delivered with in a month or two (plus they said “if we get an early shipment we will get you from that batch “). Sales team is really good at story telling. Finally I got my car after about 6 or 7 months and had to pay 1lakh more than the promised price. I don’t want to discourage you, just for your information what to expect.

Also please check the ground clearance of the car. Early days I had major problems with the Viva that came with 12” tires. It was improved with the Elite with 13” tires and still I took extra care not to scratch the bottom of the front bumper.

Thanks. Yes they said they have enough stock so there should not be a waiting line. Ground clearence is excellent with the Bezza more than most modern day cars. Thanks for your help :)

If Micro became the Toyota agent then you should avoid even buying a Toyota ? I thought someone else was doing MG oh well another brand then to avoid like the plague

HI why do you say this? Bad experience with Micro I am assuming?

  13. Thank you both for your valuable feedback. Yes, this is one of my main concerns as I dont want to be sold some damaged scrap from Japan. I will be purchasing the Bezza directly from Unimo (Fully Owned Subsidiary of Unit#d Mot#rs). Comes with a 3 year warranty or 100k km whichever comes first.

I test drove the Bezza and it is pretty comfortable and has a good suspension.

    Thanks for your feedback guys
