The AT210 / 211/212 series came on the same platform as Carina & Premio starting production from 1996 - 2001. carina's came with a 1500 TI & TI my road version which came with better interior features & a power button on the auto gear console. The SI came in the same with a 1800 cc engine. Carina also has a sports edition with a high compression 20 valve engine which is known as the carina GT. Premio's/ Corona come with two types of engine's. 1600 & 1800 cc and it has two versions as the E grade & G grade.( Correct me if I am wrong ). Th ese main have interior and cosmetic difference. ( * Petrol Versions Only)

The Mitsubishi Lancer MR ( MIVEC ) 1589 CC High Compression 1999 model, seen a very very few here.

I have used one for a very short time ( Auto Version 1999 ) . It comes with a 6 cylinder 2000 cc BEAMS Yamaha desgined engine. There is no much you could do to increase its fuel consumption unlike the basic / fuel system clean/ change spark plugs/ use genuine air filter ect. Colombo City with A/C four passengers it does around 6.5 - 7.5 KMPL and out stations ( on O/D ) 9 - 11 KMPL. This is the maxium considering our fuel quality !

Hi, did'nt you have any other option rather than thinking of an korean automobile. well there's a friend of mine who uses one who almost curses it every day. It is a 2001 YOM and a 1500cc auto. The fuel consumption is around 7 kmpl which is equalent to a bigger luxury car. Well spares are'nt a problem b'caus most of the ford and mazda engine parts are compatible. You also may find some errors with the automatic gears . You could easily fetch one for about 1000000 - 1100000 . Paying any thing more than that is an utter waste. Advise you to go in for a japanies , starlet / march / AE100 / FB 14 / Lancer Ck 1 which are more reliable have a resale value and fuel efficient. Regds, Dharshan

Try and negociate the maxium on the price. See that the body is in perfect conditinon. The two door model has longer doors and make sure that the doors do not have any dents. more the dents they have they look shape less . Drive it on an rutty road and check the suspension. If it make all sort of sounds u will have to do a suspension overall which includes the replacement of shoks , shok holders, shock boots and the lower arm bushes ect. The rear suspension is not much complicated and does not need much attention. Take it on to a highway and drive at around 80 km and chech whether there is any stearing shivers. If so it may be a week stearing rack. If You could get it for around 740/= it would be realy worth for money , b'caus it's a 300 number. These models were equipt with satandard AC / PS & PM only. Power Stutters were optional. Both 1000 cc and 1300 cc are available in manual and auto versions. A two door of this range will be around 775000/= -- 900000/= depending on the options and the number plates. 2. 1997 to 2001, K11 which comes with a face lif bonnet and a better dash board. Air bags and ABS are standard and most of the cars are full option. Both 1000cc and 1300 ccare available in manual and auto versions. Hi , I had a mazda interplay 323 1500cc which had a total fuel capacity of 46 liters. ( ref 94' mazda car spec) . The first light indication comes when there's about 8 - 10 liters left. How ever it depends on the surface you drive the car b'caus if its driven on an uneven surface ( rutty road ) with about 10 liters the petrol tank floter does not give a propoer reading and will send a pluse to the fuel light. ( With about 10 liters left if you drive on a strait road the light may not indicate, but if your climbing up hill the light will indicate once or twise b'caus the car is not level. How ever in mazda's the reserve fuel capaciyty is around 7 liters. When the petrol come to this level the light keeps on indicating continiously what ever the road circumtance is. Thanks & Regds, D

Hi, The same problem was there with a 406 of a friend of mine. It was repaired by a technician who's work shop is situated near the gangarama temple. ( the road adgoining the temple which leads to mobitel head office ). I advice you to take it there since the agents will rip u off. !
