  1. I am yet to (or about to) try an Octane booster So can not comment on this. Regarding the ECO Tablet, one of my friend's car has produced a check engine light after using 92 octane instead of 95. He said that after using the Eco pill the check engine light has disappeared.
  2. This is something I have never done so far. In order to add the Octane booster the fuel tank needs to be near empty levels right? How much should I add if I am filling the tank with the cap of 59 liters ( Assuming the current 5000rs fuel restriction is not in effect).
  3. Do we even have the luxury of choosing anymore (95 vs 92) ? 😩
  4. Most of the running repairs (Mechanical) are done at home by my trusted mechanic who lives next door. for routine maintenance/Services I go to Midland Auto PVT limited in Gampola (been going here for 3 years).
  5. Hi @trinityThanks for pointing this out. I specifically asked about the injectors when they were removed for clean up. The guy said they are in pretty good condition. With regards to the O-rings I will have this looked at again just to be sure.
  6. 3 years and almost 25,000km under my ownership. It is time for an engine tune up. The usual procedures were followed. Fuel injectors were removed/tested and cleaned. Throttle body was cleaned- I was surprised to see the load of dirt/Carbon deposits. Air intake system was cleaned. Air filter was on it's way out so ordered Mitsubishi genuine air filter from partsouq (Part Num 1500A023). Placed the order 0n 28th Jan and arrived on 3rd of Feb via Aramex. spark plugs checked and car is still rocking with the original Bosch spark plugs set. One was on it's way out so all 4 needs replacing. This is a pending task for me. Finally the scan was done with no errors found. Overall it was a tune up done right at midland auto Pvt limited. The guy was tidy and did a fantastic job and I knew it when I saw drops of water coming out from the exhaust. Took almost 3 hours for the tune up. Cost for the tuneup+labor- 12,000rs. Air filter cost-9800rs (including shipping).
  7. My father was a huge Vintage Hi-Fi lover. And my house used to be full of HIFIs and classic Radios. Ranging from Technics, Kenwood, and of course Pioneers, I still own a Pioneer classic and also a collection of classic radios inherited from my father. I will share some pics later.
  8. It's a non branded Chinese unit. The one that I installed was the only unit available for lancers. I suggest you go for something like this which would be even more killer looking. It just flows with the interior nicely. Not sure of the availability so you might have to get it down. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32886068883.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.0.0.72f53081elTCBy&algo_pvid=f268b786-aa2c-49f2-8990-e358fd5280c1&algo_exp_id=f268b786-aa2c-49f2-8990-e358fd5280c1-11&pdp_ext_f={"sku_id"%3A"12000025009262340"}&pdp_pi=-1%3B192.5%3B-1%3B5789%40salePrice%3BUSD%3Bsearch-mainSearch
  9. I contacted Chamara motors/Stickers kandy, They did not have the panel kit in stock so had them brought it down for me. They did the installation and IMO did a fantastic job. I was there from A to Z and they are pretty much professional at what they do. As far as the fitment goes the panel did not line up properly like how the factory OEM kit did. This to be expected from most aftermarket kits I guess. But nothing to complain about.
  10. Oh really? then it's worth the wait.
  11. Try Partsouq too. Recently I got down a genuine Air filter from them. Placed the order on 28th Jan and arrived at home on 3rd Feb through Aramex. Very impressive.
  12. Yes correct, I think DSP gives a much more realistic sound when adjusted. when OEM unit was there I could not crank up the volume much without vibrating the windows. Now I could actually hear deeper bass levels and different smooth sound quality with less vibration. I used apple music "lossless" songs for testing. FM reception is more or less the same with the old unit. I will share a pic of the reverse guideline. Yes, Originally I was looking at this. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32886068883.html?spm=a2g0o.cart.0.0.1fb23c00PMlS5O&mp=1 This would have been even better with 4GB RAM+ 64 GB however the cost turned me off a bit, (around 75k). Even though the installed Panel kit was designed for Lancer ex we had to do some work to properly fit it in. On two occasions we had to remove and install again. and one Air vent was giving a big headache as it would not suck in to the panel. So this became a 3 hour operation and finally was able to integrate to the way I want it to be.
  13. I do not encounter any lags in day to day operations. However installing apps are taking longer because of the low RAM. as soon as I switch to reverse gear it turns on the rear camera. Honestly speaking I do not think this can be compared with prominent brands like Kenwood or pioneer ( which have become Chinese anyway). I do not have anything to compared it to except the OEM unit. and OEM versus This - I am loving this because of it's features.
  14. Thanks, I actually found the sound quality to be far better than the OEM kit I used to have. I am getting deeper bass levels and overall sound quality is pretty great. I am afraid this is a Non-brand Chinese unit. I got 1gb RAM version because 10.1 unit was only available in 1 GB. if you are going for it look for 2gb-4gb units for a far more smooth operation. but will be expensive.
  15. Head unit Upgrade Bumping my own thread for this upgrade. My trusty old Bluetooth connector stopped working and wanted to replace the connector as quickly as possible. I was missing the phone connectivity in the car. Needless to say I had second thoughts. “Why don't I upgrade to an android head unit?" Before you say cheap Chinese knock off, yes "I KNOW". However it gets the job done for me. I am a total whore for music and sound quality is far more superior because of the added DSP + Equalizer functionality. After about several days of using the unit I thought to myself "why haven’t I done this before? The Panel kit was not a perfect match and had to do some ground work to properly suck it in. Overall it was quite a nice upgrade from functionally + aesthetic standpoints. I am enjoying driving with it. Unit is 10'1 inch with all the required bells and whistles. The old kit was carefully packed using bubble wrap and put into a well-earned rest. Cost for the unit + Labor- 43,500Rs
  16. Guys, Trying to order a spark plug set through Partsouq. Why am I seeing "Europe use only" option. There's no difference right? @Hyaenidae @Davy @trinity
  17. Great. Thanks for pointing this out. Maybe it is time to restart the thread.
  18. Good one but might not be ideal/practical for majority of the users. I think the best approach would be to avoid these shaky fuel stations. May be we can use this thread to report those fuel stations.
  19. Guys we should be more concerned about this. I also experienced reduced performance after pumping 95 from the fuel station of my neighborhood. Quote from the article "After pumping petrol from the Kottawa filling station two pistons of my car and three pistons of my friend’s car were damaged. There weren’t other issues in those vehicles. If this had happened to one vehicle it would have been because of a defect in the vehicle" - Asanga Bandara, Racing Driver https://www.dailymirror.lk/opinion/Shaky-deals-and-misdeeds-in-the-fuel-industry/231-228937
  20. Hi Guys, I am pretty sure this has been discussed before and I guess there are no right or wrong answers. However would like to hear fresh opinions. Nitrogen vs Air Which one do you prefer and why? Do you feel a difference between the two? What are the pros and cons of each? What is the best option for Low profile tires? One of the prominent individual in the industry once told me to use air instead of nitrogen. However I have been using Nitrogen for the most part of my ownership and there have been instances where I had to use air to top it off due to unavailability of nitrogen. Is this healthy?
  21. I think this is a legit Evo X GSR, I remember seeing this on a quick site for sale sometime back for around 6.5 Mil ( before the Pandemic). The Interior 👇
