  1. the lead Engine of this generation Civic is the Type-R,it's a complete new Engine development with Direct injection instead of Port Fuel,Turbocharging etc. Others below that are just population variants. True ,the sedan 1.5L is more practical, but those thinking its the best new Civic are misinformed
  2. You can live with the engin and gearbox problems of the new Hondas and Xtrails without manufacturers warranty?
  3. Haha, just proper sedan, not proper Civic. don't forget the 1.5L is far from the PROPER CIVIC you are talking about. It can come nowhere near to the REAL 2.0L 300+HP Type-R Civic Hatchback which is made ONLY in the UK and exported even to Japan.
  4. good it worked. BTW did you use the "improved" design Rings and follow correct fitting procedure from Honda GP1 owners manual which was mentioned somewhere here(so that the problem don't come back again, since its a design flaw)?
  5. your equation says, for X distance: Liters of fuel consumed by non hybrid = Litres of fuel consumed by hybrid + the Liters of fuel the cost of battery will buy ?
  6. based on rough assumptions. Petrol 1L= 130Rupee Distance per 1Rupee with non hybrid doing 15Km/L=0.115Km/rupee Distance per 1Rupee with hybrid doing 25Km/L=0.192Km/rupee Range advantage with battery costing 290,000rupee =0.077km/rupee Range advantage in Kilometers =290000x0.077=22300km in other words , by spending additional 290,000 rupee for the battery, one will get a range of 55680km instead 33350km with the same amount of petrol correct?
  7. oh boy, almost 300,000 bucks! are you first owner, what is the mileage now? did you save that much with fuel consumption? rough calculation shows about 22,000km to recover this cost.(additional 10km/litre with hybrid and Rs130/litre)
  8. The model-X Tesla has the best NHTSA safety rating in the world for an SUV. Are the Crash tests of Hybrid,Electrics done with these unstable Li-ion batteris on board? I doubt it,because otherwise at least one of the prototypes would have caught fire after the crash.
  9. and looks like another EV crashed and burned just recently, this time in the US. " The SUV became engulfed in flames after its battery packs caught fire following the collision, prompting Tesla to send a team of engineers to the crash site " http://www.thedrive.com/tech/19702/tesla-investigating-fatal-model-x-crash-releases-statement Looks like a very High burning temperature, more like scorched due to extreme heat than burning out. Thermal Runaway?
  10. wonder how many of our mechanics, drivers, highway patrol and rescue staff are aware of how to handle the specific risks of these batteries. Not only during use and an emergency, but also storage and recycling safely.
  11. is it a Tesla specific problem or related to all(Leaf,Prius,Fit)? At least the i8 recently did not burn after crashing(in to water ?)
  12. a coat on my Piston to make it harder? and also the Bore will become tighter and friction will be reduced? I like that! how can I get a free sample?
  13. starting a new thread with "Critical" in block letters? yes, totally agree with @ajm and @matroska ! Nothing but a little troll looking for attention instead of doing anything about it!

    BMW E12

Its no longer a real BMW,when they put a Toyota engine. There should be more vibration at high speeds, and the pulling power must be really insufficient for a car this big. Your heart will say to buy it,but the brain would say don't(unless you have some contacts in UK,germany who might be able to find a donor car for this).
  15. this is a new ca,so no one knows much. But fuel efficiency should be good, since horsepower figures are disappointing for a 1L engine. But its based on the widely used Toyota 1KR engine, even VVT-i. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Perodua_Bezza
  16. this is a well known topic discussed here when hybrids started coming about 10years ago.Forget about secong hand containers,I doubt even the batteries of all the Prias,Vesls and Ackas currently in use will be properly disposed of when they need replacing soon.
  17. did you write in English? probably they will think you are a trickster from Africa. Try writing a strong and polite letter in Japanese, then they might take it seriously.
  18. TSI=Turbo Stratified Injection for petrol and TDI=Turbo diesel injection for diesels. VW,Audi group does not make any non-turbo cars with IC engines since a long time AFAIK.
  19. really? could you name one European car that needs to do these stupid things at service? short question my dear friend, have you ever used a European car? @dilshant80 who is paying for the car,you or your mechanic friend? your mechanic friend knows japanese cars well enough to diagnose and repair the hybrid/gearbox issues of Vezel, xtrail and so on.?To me he just sounds like some frog in a well who is not willing to learn anything new, most mechanics are like that. Audis dont give any issues as many people are saying here, not in the first 3years definitely.they are engineered to cover 1000s of kilometres in one day over continents.
  20. No it wont. Even the service intervals are 2times longer than the Japanese ones. But you might need an extra bottle of oil in between the services, during the engine break-in period. you are spot on against the people who are discouraging your from buying a European car. The CHR itself is a good proof that Toyotas having a good resale value is a myth now, those who bought a few months ago at 10million are now forced to sell at 6million. The AE110 days are over, and people who bought aqua and Prius have a hard time selling because of battery worries. Not worth the buck and trouble!
  21. @gayanath as long as your workshops about "why people shouldn't service their hybrid at 5000kms and do it at 20000kms instead" are cost free, all is good. But there are some kakko who share the knowledge and information taken from this forrum in some other forums and workshops and charge a price for that ?
  22. so anyone put an order at the agent for the Q2? they offer manual or Automatic?
  23. ? @gayanath your car has the similar problem or you want to make an extra buck with this information at your next seminar about servicing hybrids in Sri Lanka
  24. A1 is a city car like the Smart 4, so you would find it a bit cramped inside with 4passengers. What about Q2, the agents are accepting orders now under the reduced prices? But the 1.2L engine and lighter body would make the A1 more nimble than the 1L Q2.
  25. no surprise there, European engines are tuned to operate at higher efficiency level to bring more HP with less engine capacity. On the other hand there could be things like oil consumption and needing special hi-performance oils that can survive the harder operating conditions. All European cars available until now lost about 1million resale value per year in the first 5 years of use. But it Would be interesting to see how the resale value of a low priced Audi would develop over the years. But since you are a person already asking the funny question Audi or Toyota, the latter which would give you better resale value after a few years would be more suitable .
