Toyota Lanka are replacing the Air Bag detonator of several models that came around 2008(Corolla 141, etc), which is free of charge. Check with Toyota Lanka whether your model needs this replacement as well.

Read a very recent news article about a Mercedes G-wagen that went up in flames in the parking lot of a mall in UAE, killing 2 toddlers in the process.
As horrifying as it sounds, I'm curious to know whats up with these modern euro luxo barges going up in flames every now in a while. Inside Edition did a video a long time ago, on several BMWs going up in flames while being parked.

Must be all the worst case design and environmental parameters piled up on a single vehicle, RIP poor souls. Even during parking, some components consume current for keeping some functions alive. Probably one of the capacitors on the power supply PCB tracks inside an ECU failed as short circuit mode(very rare, usual failure mode is open circuit) and caused a mighty spark.

Why those DFCC owners are all alike? All of them are thinking that they own the best SUV in the world.

Guys, How come the Alto Lapin hasn't hit the shores that much? Looks nice and the interior is pleasant. Much better than the boxy one. Also I feel like lowering it and “do some upgrading” would do wonders

Mitsu gets its roots from Planes,Ships,Submarines and Tanks during WWII,whereas Toyotas from weaving machines. Mitsu,Subaru are the only car manufacturers which have their own Heavy industries in the same group (Mitsubishi Heavy and Fuji Heavy industries) Maybe that has a role with rigidity of the structures?

So a chap spends like 7mil on a car, with 1litre engine capacity + turbo, still confused about gas mileage and in the end complain!
I mean what are you trying to achieve here?
Impress the neighbor? Feel big?
Why not use half of that on a thirsty SUV, or a tad bit older premium car, and spend a bit more on fuel! and peace of mind
-
Exactly! finding a proper maintained second hand car where only new/original parts have been used is very difficult, you don't normally know what you are getting into. Also people don't have extra time to spend in garages for mechanical updates. The alternative is to sell an arm and leg and get a brand new , and expect some peace of mind. Because of the tax update,1 L new models have come to similar range like 2nd hand regular models. A 5 year old Prius will be 8 years old when the Lease is over, and more difficult to sell than a 3 year old Civic 1L turbo. I personally prefer a non hybrid with a proper engine than the new 1L,but not everyone has time and motivation to spend on a car after buying (even for gas!?)

yes you can get original from accident vehicles for much less, not cheap Chinese quality. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/2016-Audi-A1-1-0-TFSI-CHZ-04C145702Q-Turbo-Charger-Actuator-/112836717736?nav=SEARCH

1L brand new:no major maintenance is needed at least for some time,if the turbo leaks after a couple of years, just replace the unit(normally less than Rs.100k in eBay).A 1.6L 5 year old will have more regular maintenance to be done(suspension,tyres,brakes,paint..) no matter how rock solid the powertrain is.Downsizing is a trend in engine development, allowing to get similar performance of a bigger engine, with special technology to address reliability issues. 1L engines are in use for many years in other markets, only time can prove the suitability to SL conditions(1L should be better than the Kei cars)

hmm,not sure how buying an old car should give peace of mind. The likelihood of failures in a brand new 1L turbo should be still less than a 5years old 1.6L vehicle right? Besides in some cases agent warranty is available. it's sooo difficult to find a good workshop these days and even more difficult to get the job done on time. Very few people want to spend their limited off-time in Service stations, let alone repair workshops.

Is it me or does it look like Mic*o staff have taken to A.L to do some marketing???.

Back in the day, AL was a place where we Petrolheads came for insight and advice on our motoring prospects / daily runner etc and glance new builds from senior members and experts,
Now its become a place where internet heroes come to exercise pora talks and mask down at least the one or few good threads still running.
-
I recall some older / senior members of the AL Forum telling paying full insurance premiums is a complete waste given the way they shim away stuff and you end up begging them. Well today I learnt it the hard way
The jokers at SL I******* Quoted Rs. 750 to remove align and refit a Nissan Leaf rear bumper.

Its about time admins check threads before they are posted. Someone had created multiple threads advertising fake stuff. On top of that some people open threads without searching, there were 2 new Hiace threads recently when there's already a thread with loads of discussion.
