Chinese are going to take over the automobile industry for sure. Tesla who was considered ground braking is shying away from the promised small EV and moving to Taxi cars as the competition is too strong. Then comes Chery with this small EV SUV. Looks like a Mini G Class / Jimny but is fully electric.

Interior Specialists? Every time I go over some bumps my seats squeak quite loudly and there is a massive rattle of a nail undone coming from inside the dashboard, anybody got any suggestions I could go to? My usual mechanic just said "turn the radio up"

2C Turbo - Yay or Nay?

@matroska YAAAY in a CT210 😁

I used to recommend Perodua's particulary the Viva Elite to people asking what to buy for around 3 Mil. But not anymore. Now they're hitting the 4 Million mark
-
@matroska nothing on the outside, no strange noises or anything like that but the knock sensor is retarding the ignition timing quite a bit it seems. This is on a 100% 92RON tank

@matroska And the price difference between 92RON and 95RON has hit 98LKR/l
Considering permanent switch to 92RON, some Knock Retard comparisons between the two and if there's not much of a difference, I'm gonna switch to 92RON.

What's with the sudden influx of spammers? Can't we have one or two more moderators to get rid of them?
-
@Gummybr maybe it helps with search engine optimization or something if these spam posts are considered back-links

Gearbox seems to refuse to go into Drive without being warmed up now, it has gotten considerably worse in the past year, quick investigations suggest that it is time to rebuild the Gearbox, there's a place that offers 6 months warranty and has the repair kit for it. That's 75k (25k of it being the damn fluid) gone

Have any of you guys used this new engine oil brand "KIXX" ? Think it's any good? Carries API labels and is listed on API engine oil licensing database
-
@PerfMad Nah it's for my Japanese Lancer, used to use Valvoline premium conventional (100% Mineral) But now that it costs 15k+, why not spend the same amount and go for a semi-synthetic r8? I'll update if I feel any different after the switch, but I'm hoping there won't be a noticeable difference

Any idea about how much it will cost for a cut and polish these days?

When manufacturers state a fuel tank’s capacity, is it up-to the auto cut-off valve or right to the brim?
-
I'm 90% sure it's upto auto cut-off.
This is a question which perplexed Sri Lankan bikers for a long time; every google search said that the capacity of their tanks is 11L but every shed managed to fill 14-15L when told to pump it to full. Turns out Sri Lankan full made fuel leak out of the filler cap once side stand is on and the bike is tilted; manufacturers' full had taken this to account. 11L was the max capacity which didn't make fuel leak out of the tank when bike is supported by the side stand.
In the same vein I think the fuel tank capacity mentioned on the owners' manual is the max you can pump without risking liquid fuel getting into the charcoal canister. Maybe there is an additional idiot buffer of 1-2L, not sure about that.
