  1. How come salt (NaCl) is an ion though?
  2. What is the difference between those two? How does it affect the cooling system? Almost all battery water bottles sold in SL say "distilled water" on the label though
  3. You can use distilled water upto 1l (for 20k+ kms my Lancer still havent lost 500ml) mine has a 6l coolant capacity, the coolant concentration recommended by Mitsubishi is 30%-60% according to the workshop manual, so adjust accordingly to your coolant capacity. You could buy OEM coolant from UNIMO too
  4. In that case a customary look-see would suffice (fluids, air pressure, brakes, battery etc)
  5. IKR? And he managed to utter that with a completely straight face! Astrologer be like: Me be like: New owner be like: Biker guy be like:
  6. Time for "The B@tmobile" thread with plenty of pics!
  7. Hey that reminds me of my last car selling experience- So I advertised my previous car for sale alright, the first buyer who agreed to pay the asking price was a queer one - he didn't even take a good look at the interior, much less a test drive - he just fell in love with how good the exterior looked- "brand new wage thiyenne mahaththaya!" was what he said. He was right - I know a thing or two about paint protection (wax, people, wax!) - so the very next day we travel to the bank, do the paperwork, he deposits the agreed amount while I fill out MTA forms and stuff - while all this is going on in comes the protagonist of the story. The buyer introduces the newcomer to me as a close relative of his - a professional astrologer. He had calculated the best auspicious time for the new owner to get in the car (or hand the key over- I can't remember which) so anyway, after a wait of more than half an hour we do the deed on the auspicious time - the new owner wanted to take me home, didn't want me to take the bus, bless his kind soul! We were on our merry way when he suddenly remembered he needed a photocopy of some document and we kept an eye for a "communication". You see where this is going now dontcha? Le wild communication appears - driver slams on the brakes - a poor sod who was riding his CD90 too close rear ends the car - gets airborne - lands on the rear trunk and leaves one of his incisors on the trunk lid. We all get out - the very first thing the astrologer told me was "hondha welawata nekathata waahane paarata dhamme, naththan apey passen enne bike ekak nemey tipper ekak!"
  8. Woman-driver vs Collision avoidance system? That ain't no fair fight, that'd be like tryin' to cork a volcano with a coco-nut.
  9. Stock Yokohamas which comes with the Lancer make a heck of a din - sounds like a tornado coming your way if you happen to open a window ?
  10. Sedans are being killed off one by one... WHYYYYYYYY
  11. Apparently its made by Bridgestone in Europe http://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/Tyre/Lassa/
  12. It's more of a walkaround than a review, and a good one at that - their camera work is excellent and they cover the whole car, save for the undercarriage. It's too early to properly "review" the Raize anyway, let's give it a year or two so owners can post ownership reviews based on their experience of using it under Sri Lankan driving conditions
  13. Oooh, thanks for the silver me hearties! Wish you many happy and safe kilometers in 2020! May your engine run like butter; may your brakes stop you in time; may your AC keep you cool; may your paint shine forever and may you reach all your destinations safe, sound and with a smile on your face! Keep revvin'!
  14. Yeah the 3rd party workshop must have made the switch to thicker oil... you'll have to specifically request UNIMO to use 15W40 instead of 10W30
  15. I meant the viscosity: since UNIMO recommends 10W30 I'm guessing the first owner used 10W30 instead of 15W40? Maybe the first owner switched to 15W40 when he quit getting the car serviced by UNIMO. It wouldn't matter switching to Val from Mobil but I think it'd be better if you continue with 15W40 since it has been used for years. I guess UNIMO would suggest you to switch to 10W30 - it's their recommended viscosity for the Lancer
  16. I'm no oil expert but I don't think switching the brand once or twice would cause much of an issue, I've heard doing it often could lead to sludging 'cause different oil manufacturers use different additives even if the specs are similar Do you have any idea which oil was used before 5 years? what was the reason for the switch to 15W40? I've been using 10W30 (conventional) starting from the first service as per the recommendation of UNIMO, I'm guessing yours was using it too (atleast in the warranty period).
  17. Oh, so you mean that wrong engine information was entered manually (we already know that the engine information is wrong because the 4G63 engine wasn't used on either of the cars) and the "Lancer CS1" part was taken from a drop-down menu? Feels like we're getting a tumble in the messy soup you mentioned
  18. Evo X has a 4B11 engine, not a 4G63; CS1 has a 4G13 engine.
  19. And entered wrong engine information too?
  20. How come it's the opposite? Mazda didn't say it's a male animal about to jump on its prey did they? ?
