  1. had a similar issue in my FD 4 at the very same mileage. stafford could not diagnose any issue since this came time to time.
  2. most likely the MAF. had a similar issue with my BJ5W and turned out to be MAF. replacing would be better than trying to clean.
  3. thanks Vishkid for the advice and connecting me with the old thread .even though it does not answer my questions, gave an idea on whats happening with other models and brands. thanks. appreciate if anyone could let me know a specialized KIA/Hyundai repair shop.
  4. yes i do have the manual and what is mentioned above is correct. so i guess what the agent claims is correct. my worry is the amount of money they gonna charge for this.any other place who is specialized in Korean vehicles?
  5. dear all, i drive a KIA sportage 2011 petrol version and currently 60k on the clock genuine mileage with agent maintenance records from day one. this model has a sealed type transmission and the agent recommends to change the transmission oil at 60k because driving in Sri Lanka falls under "severe"driving conditions. otherwise the manual says no need to change the transmission oil. today i contacted the agent to make an appointment for the transmission oil change and the appointment i got is on july since they take only a limited number of vehicles for tranny oil change since it needs to take out the whole tranny and takes 3 days. on top of that the cost is approximately 80k !!! 80k just to change the transmission oil? or the lady who was talking to me over the phone is smoking some really good stuff these days? have anyone heard of this sort of a transmission oil change? any ideas or any other place that i can check this again? appreciate your replies. thanks
  6. ok.. this is for all of you folks.. a very good friend of mine used a bj5p special edition 2001 YOM with all 4 discs, tiptronic, white meter panel, nardi steering and it was an awesome ride and i had a special edition hatch 2000 model manual with only front discs but everything else was the same. both had ZL-Ve VVTI engines. i personally felt the handling and the tiptronic box was very fun to drive and had a decent pick up. mine was manual but i felt the tiptronic box was much better recuse mazda manual shift was very stiff compared to my previous hondas. both were maintained at Maxxna motors and my friends tiptronic was running fine up to about 100k milage and then started giving issues. the biggest issue was delay in shifting and not shifting at all sometimes and this was rectified by Maxxna citing it was a pressure leak from the wornout clutch plates in the tiptronic box. then after months the issue came again and Maxxna again repaired it. that was back in 2013 and i heard the tiptronic box parts were hard to come by because these were limited editions and that was the first generation tiptronics of mazda familia. anyways he sold it in 2013 before the issue arise again and he confirmed the next owner also had the same issue again. also , as someone correctly said, my manual car's clutch cylinder gave up twice and repair kit did not work hence i replaced the entire cylinder. other than that it was a wonderful car to drive. hope this helps!
