  1. Congrats Rupesh!!! Your car must have been damm fast to take down the fastest NA S2K in Dubai… wish we could see it go It’s great to see TIC powered cars doing well at international drag events like the one you took part in. I’m not sure if you already know this but two months ago at the Bombay drags a TIC powered EG8 with a B20 Turbo setup took down a moded STI7 and came first place. Tuned I Chips has come a long way and it’s nice to see a Sri Lankan tuner gaining international recognition!!!! All the best with your teg and keep us posted on any updates. Cheers Razali
  2. Good scene man let me know how it goes...i'm sure the 6sp gearbox will come in handy! P.S- Dont forget to steal a bottle of Arrack....
  3. Pilla i see your missing your civic I'm sure the drive to Hikkaduwa the other day made you miss it more!!!!!
  4. According to my knowledge some differences between the vi-rs and rs Both the EK3 and the ES3 came out with sporty sedans called RS however the EK3 was called VI-RS and the ES3 was just called RS (no vi name for it) The VI-RS has a d15b 3-stage vtec engine which produces 130ps while the RS has the D17A engine which produces 130ps as well The D17A engine is not considered a proper VTEC as it doesn’t change cam profiles like the d15b found in the EG8’s and EK3’s thus it has a lower redline and better low end torque and is excellent for day to day traffic running but dull when it comes to straight line perfoamnce pretty much similar to what u find in the corollas and sunnys. The VI-RS with the D15B has crap low end torque but excellent power up there all the way to the red line (7600rpm) and with simple mods like intake/exhaust it makes a world of a difference in power. The es3 rs has a shorter 1st and 2nd gears compared to the vi-rs but is a sitting duck when it comes to 3rd as its bloody long. The ES3 rs has factory defects and its market is not that great at the moment for ex the steering rack has issues, the EPS malfunctions, the crank sensor is supposed to blow and the dash rattles like a bitch. I would say the ek3 vi-rs is a much better car than the es3 rs.
  5. Yes they do and its the same multimatic gearbox that comes with the VI-RS.
  6. virs and vi have the same gearbox.
  7. You can fit the EG8 wheels into the EK3 gearbox housing no issues.... I'm not sure of the cost but you basically need to locate a EG8 VTEC gearbox or someone who has one but vtec gearbox's arent cheap and not easy to locate these days. Do you own a VI or a VI-RS?
  8. This mod can be done two of my friends did it to their VI-RS's and it made a huge difference. The ek3 final drive is meant for highway crusing but lacks in quick acceleration (compared to the eg8) also you might want to get the 1 and 2 gears of the EG8 as its closer.
  9. Go for a EK3 VI manual its the best combo for fuel econo and power plus it has more options compared to the brandnew EXI's.
  10. BMI tested the FD2 in July 2007 and was completly amazed by the perfomance of this 4 door civic, for those who are intrested you can download the video "Type R returns 2007" from a few torrent sites. Here is one of the tests they did http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rXwapwrHgIU...ted&search=
  11. Hey guys check this out!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eml1sD5z3KQ
  12. If i'm not mistaken Razmi's hatch was a EG4 and Zacki did the ECU's for both projects!!!!
  13. The ES3 RS which has the D17A apparently doesn’t change cam profiles like the d15b vtecs found in the EG8 and EK3 thus u don’t really feel the VTEC kick in. This is another reason it has a lower redline compared to the D15B and is made more for low end torque and fuel economy.
