  1. Thanks you ghostwriter, Pleasurer to have a comments as a townace user as well as a modern car user. Yes. Agree with you. Diesel engines, 25 years old, Old technology too many things are there as drawbacks. We has a Shell model van with 54-XXXX. It was a monster. We sold it 12 years back. Very Reliable. After we bought it, we faced too many issues at just after buying it. But we fixed all most all the issues, radiator, power steering, injector, ball joints, suspension, except transmission, engine. But after 1 or 2 year no major issues came. We ran it for around 10 years running 60 km per day. We used to transport many things including coconuts, cement. No engine tune ups. DS40 oil, parts are extremely cheep, No expensive sensors. Then we switched to viva elite. But I am will to drive reliable Shell model van compared to Viva elite with the Rattling diesel power. But no ABS, air bags. It the most serious problem.
  2. Hi Mr. iRage, Thank you for the very detailed explanation. I am thinking of having 4WD version. 4WD is a premium option for me. And agree with your points. Nest the high ground clearance will make it further robust. Thank you once again.
  3. Hi all, I am going to sold my Viva-Elite and buy a Toyota townace lotto van since our family is larger now. Q1) Please give me points to be checked before buying which are especial to this Toyota town ace lotto. Q2) And I noticed townace CR36 is more cheaper than CR27. 4WD is a good option and people says CR36 maintain is costly. Could I have an idea of extra cost in numbers, and repairing period of 4WD suspension system? ( I am willing to pay extra cost for 4WD option :) ) Thank you your attention
  4. hi all, my jeep wheel drums are wornout beyond max diameter limit. Where can i buy them? What would be the cost? Any alternative vehicle matching to 4dr5 drum? Is there a way to refill it? thank you.
  5. hi all, I need to troubleshoot my 4dr5 jeep brake system. I decided to isolate all brake Lines one by one. I found there is item to do it. Called as brake line end caps. Anyone knows a place to buy theM? thank you
  6. hi all, Thank you for all your valuable replies. And pardon me late reply. Now the problem is in a new stage. And it is terrible. :D. I replaced all the slave cylinder washers. And master pump as well. Master pump had original Nissan washers. So the internal suface is almost new. Slave cylinder are old. But not having considerable gaps. But the liners are terrible. Some are worn out closed to metal. Some are almost new. Some liner ends are having welding marks to increase the liner total length. I bleed system in all corners several time to verify it. Filled new oil. Adjusted the cylinders to minimize gap between liners & drum. Observation: almost no brake paddle goes halfway very softly. And remaining half gets harder step by step. brake works while rapid paddling. (after third paddling) Any suggestions? Steps to be followed to narrow down the problem? Is there a method to isolate each wheel's brake duct? ( To narrow down the problems)
  7. Hi peugeot407, It is Drum. I will have try. Thank you for your reply Is that extra free brake paddle movement coming from air bubles or slave side free space ? or both? Thank you.
  8. Hi TheClutch, Thanks for replying. I have some mechanical back ground but a newbie :).As a exampe, I am doing the whole electrical wiring for above mentioned 4dr5. And now it is in the final stage. I mentioned above check list to make someone give me a clear solution. I included all the test cases coming into my mind . My major concern is Brake paddle goes down halfway without much effort after engine shutdown. Remaining half is harder. And going down to the bottom.. Is it acceptable ? Thank You
  9. Hi All, I recent a bought a 4dr5 jeep which was in a garage without running for few years. I hand over a well known 4dr5 mechanic. He told he replaced all brake washer, nozzles.. He tested the brake he could managed to brake with locking wheels (Assume he is not a giant :D) . I noticed a change in brake while I started to bring the vehicleNow brake is in a very very dangerous situation. I am afraid to take the vehicle into road . I controlled speed from the gear. And could came very slowly. And it was the very first driving moment of the vehicle. So I do not have a idea about before the repair. Anyway I do not like to go to above mechanic because he is charging too much (Brake repair 6500/- with brake nozzles, washer replace, no replacing brake pads) and he is dishonest. Any way I would like to troubleshoot it myself. Symptoms : Brake paddle goes down halfway without much effort after engine shutdown. Remaining half is harder. Brake paddle become loosen after engine start. I could hear the air flowing sound while braking. (After engine stopped). - I assumed vacuum works properly. Brake paddle becomes harder after for each paddling after engine stopped. I assumed vacuum works properly. Brake oil level keep constant. My conclusion : Remains air within brake oil ducts. Any ideas please? I need to find the root cause. How to check the vacuum system functioning? Thank you very much.
  10. Hi All, I recently bought a J44 4DR5 Jeep. It is not having power steering. And I am willing to keep it's original features. I need to upgrade tire because they are worn-out. Jeep had 15" size rims with radial tire. Later I bought original 4DR5 Rim size 16". Now I am having both 15" & 16" size rims. I found only CE#T tires available in 6.00-16 with bar threads( Calling as Jeep Katta). No way to find out 7.60 15" Tires. My Questions Is there any issues with using 6.00-16 tires, instead of 15" size? (Braking, Stability, Comfortably, Noise....) Is there any other way to find tires with higher width?(Like 7.60..). I had attached a image bellow. It 's spare wheel is low width tire. What would be the usability of similar kind of tire ? And sizeof the tire? Thank you

  13. Hi all, I recently bought a 4dr5 j44 jeep. I am a newbie to 4dr5 . Currently, only head light, staring and heating function are working. I started to dig into the wiring problems. I started to remove not working wires. The wire harness is a full of mess. Following points will point explains the situation. I could found Grounds are taken from 12 places. Not having relays(Even head lights :O). 8 connections are coming from Ignition key barrel Seems it is in terrible condition. Is there a place to buy a wire harness ? A complete or partial wiring diagrams for 4dr5 jeeps to DIY? Thank you very much VishwaR
