  1. Is that what you call them? this is similar to what I have..
  2. Where can I get pinch tab wipers in SL? or is there an alternative?
  3. not missing. Just had an awesome friday night and just got up... the previous ad (mine) is no longer there.. it's the yaris. these are not screenshots btw. I think AL allows users to re-use ads as long as the reference number is given.. which to me, is not a very good practice IMHO. btw. there is plenty of evidence in this instance, the car was (when in my care) maintained exclusively at Toyota Lanka. They should have the last service records done at 91k or there about... and hello ruslan!
  4. Sold my car recently by placing an ad in autolanka. when I checked today I see an ad for the same car, with the exact same pictures I uploaded, with the exact same text I used!! The only things to have changed are, the contact number and..... yes you guessed it.. the mileage!!!! They have brought down the mileage from 90k+ to 50k+!!!!
  5. guys do we have an update on this? is it safe to pump from ceypetco now? can i go back to pumping 90, as i am needlessly pumping 95 thesedays....
  6. there is some truth in this. when the vehicle gets crushed sometimes the seatbelt gets jammed. in the case where doors are also jammed and stuck removing the seat belt and dragging the passenger out of the car could be a problem. this becomes an issue when the vehicle has caught fire. in most developed countries, the fire fighters have a this scissor like devise which is used the cut the belt... but its all to do with percentages, 99.99% of the time seat belts would actually save lives as opposed to the 0.01% time where wearing them can be fatal. (ok, i just made up that statistic, but u get the drift...)
  7. in exactly two months from now, the 2nd hand market would have increased by 2.544537%. however in exactly 2 more weeks from that, the market will drop by 0.43863%..
  8. thanks guys for the responses..appreciate it!!..
  9. yep, pads are genuine.. btw. it's front - disc / rear - drum
  10. Guys, when i run my car for an extended period (e.g. driving long distance, driving here and there without giving it much of a rest) there comes a squealing noise from the brakes. this is a not the high pitched screech noise you get, but more like the noise associated when buses apply brakes. the noise disappears when after an extended rest (e.g. overnight) but it only comes when i run the car for about 3 hours continuously (it doesnt come on my daily office run). so i am assuming it comes when the brakes get heated up beyond a certain point. i took it to the agents (Toyota, during my regular services) and they said it was due to dust and cleaning will solve it. (the pads where fine, they said). It did help, but i am thinking that it was more due to the brakes being cooled off when being washed since when the car was taken for the next outstation ride the noise was back. the noise is more pronounced when i hit the brakes going down a steep slope.. since this comes only during the long runs and since the agents didnt seem too fussed about it, i tend to ignore the problem... any thoughts on what this could be? should i be worried?? thanks... P.S. The car is a conventional and not a hybrid
  11. A friend of mine (why is it always a friend of someone?, anyway..) got one down from Amazon or eBay..but it didnt last long. non of the reputed brands make those gadgets..they are all cheep Chinese stuff (unknown brands), which doesnt last.plus the FM transmissions are not that high quality either, a lot of noise gets picked up and amplified over ur car stereo. u can get a good set up with usb support for a reasonable price, or there are cheep chinese set ups which support only usb / sd / micro cards and radio (no CD) and costs only about 3k. they too will not last long, but at least you will not get too much noise like with the fm transmitter. u can get those in pettah....
  12. let me be more specific then...Lorries, Buses, Tuk tuks, tractors, bullock carts, elephants, and the hyper-milers
  13. when u say leaving @ 5, i guess u mean leaving Colombo? IF it's colombo that you mean, then you should get to Trinco by about 9.30 AM. I went there in March and that's the time it took. the last bit (from Kanthale to Trinco - will take you close to an hour). But remember, if you leave after 6, add another 1 to 1.5 hours to your journey, as the traffic along A1 and A6 (upto Dambulla) will be crappy with lorries, buses and Prius's hogging the road and with not a lot of space on the opposite lanes to overtake...
  14. apoo.. you are one of those saarter drivers with unresolved ego issues and an insecurity/inadequacy to boot. let me picture this...you are cruising along at XX Kmph and some peaceful driver who cruises at XX+ comes behind and naturally attempts to overtake you. All your psycho issues kick in and all of a sudden you start accelerating causing the poor driver who was attempting to overtake you to mistime his overtaking process and spend more time than intended on the opposite lane, risking on-coming traffic. and in the face of oncoming traffic when he pulls back, you must be gloating pretending that you "didn't let him pass"... or if he did pass you, you must be going behind him like a complete jerk honking, flashing your headlights attempting risky overtaking procedures etc and in short being a complete nuisance..in an attempt to overtake him...take a break what are you trying to prove and to whom??? you know mate, frankly, i prefer the 30kmph's over idiots like you.. next time i see a moron driving a prius along the kurunagala dambulla road, i'll know its you..
