  1. Thanx I hope mileage is genuine
  2. Yeah that's why I was thinking of a march K10 and to convert it to auto or to buy something like an older maruti and teach her to drive a manual car. I also think the second option is more practical but still I feel driving a manual car in this heavy colombo traffic is too much to handle for my wife
  3. It's has a long history mate, she not driving the axio. One year back I had a Corolla 141 and I bought her a March K11 as soon as she got her license. She was happily using it and we wanted to buy a newer car. So we agreed upon buying a FIT GP5 and so we did. The agreement was both of us to use it, although I don't like a hatchback. At the end I was the only user of it as my wife never drove it, telling it is too new for her to damage it. So I became the driver of the house with all responsibilities of taking children to school, classes , practices ,then smallest of shopping falling on me. With my work it was becoming harder for me. Then again we decided to have 2 cars and we sold the FIT GP5 and bought an axio. Following which we had to incur some unavoidable high expenses . So some money from the car had to be spent on that. Now I have only 600k in my hand to buy my wife a car, where an automatic car is not possible.
  4. Hi all experts, I m thinking of buying a manual car for about 500k and converting it to auto. Because my wife is having license to drive automatic cars only and she is scared of driving the Axio 141 which I'm using. I have about 600k in my hand and don't want to go for any lease or loan.I need some expert opinion on; 1. whether to buy a manual car and convert it to automatic, in which case what will be the most suitable car to do so and which model engine and gear box will suit it. ( I have one car in mind that is March K10 but don't have any idea which type of engine and gear box will suit it ) 2. whether to apply for a manual license for my wife and teach her to drive a manual car and then to buy a small manual car. Please advice me on this and all your expert opinions are highly appreciated
  5. Thanks everyone for your valuable advices. I m hoping to buy a smaller cheaper car for my wife,as she got her licence recently and doesn't want to drive a new one Anyway I 'll find the appropriate thread to post my questions after browsing through the forum THANKS
  6. Is there any automatic cars for this price range ( 600k )
  7. Thanx Is there any early signs which I can be alert on, that shows a 141 CVT gear box is in need of attention before it fails .Because I have a busy schedule at work and use the car daily, and I don't want to get into trouble on the road and arrange towing, find mechanics on a busy day.
  8. Thanks mate.It was under first owners name while used by the cousin and when I asked from the user about gear oil change,he never gave me a proper answer. What the Toyota fellows told me is they didn't wanted to do the oil change themselves,as there could be an issue as I was told. The car was registered in sri lanka in 2011 December. So is there any possibility before exporting from Japan they would have done a gear oil change in which case the mileage of running the car without oil change would be less than 86000 km
  9. Hi all I m new to the autolanka forum but used to read it regularly. Recently I bought an Axio 141 G grade with a mileage of 86000 km . When I went for the service at laughs they told me my gear box oil is not good and I told them to change it. During the oil change they told me this car has not done a gear oil change ever by looking at the seal of the sump which they told comes from Japan itself. Before buying the car I did an inspection at Toyota lanka and they never mentioned any fault of the gear box but they told me if the gear oil is not changed on time, even if you change it, due to new oil the worn out parts of the gear box will give trouble sooner than if the gear oil not changed. Anyway I did a gear oil change and now done about 100 km so far no issues. But what wasl told at Toyota lanka worries me. I WANT you all expert idea to know will there be any gear box problem even after I changed the oil as gear oil was not changed for 86000 km.
