  1. Quite good. Got to take it for a tuneup after running 1000km though. I haven't driven it yet but dad says it goes good. Still on the lookout for a DOHC 1.5 or 1.6 B series engine. The B6ZE would be a dream, but I need the wire harness and ECU as well since the old one is still a carb.
  2. Ok this is like yonks after the last post. But figured i'd bump this up. Got a 1988 Mazda and did a rebuild on the engine. My right leg is itching to floor it, but I'm grinding my teeth and trying to behave for the first 1000km. Did find this contradictory article though: http://www.mototuneusa.com/break_in_secrets.htm How much of it is real though I wonder. Had actually planned to swap out the engine but couldn't find a suitable one so went ahead with the overhaul.
  3. Thanks Twin Turbo. Yup I do plan to upgrade my brakes . Have already gotten the JDM vented disks just need to find calipers to fit. I've already bumped up my tyres and rims from 165/70/R13s to 185/60/R14s. Oh and its a BF so shouldn't be too hard to squeeze in a BG motor. Need to find some aftermarket suspension or at least struts as well. Bit tough since modding this car isnt so common. And I work abroad and don't get to visit as much as I like..
  4. @Nimz77 I havent been to Platinum Auto Spa yet, but I personally know one of the guys who runs it. A petrol head and has a good knowledge of vehicles and takes pride in his work. Can't comment on the pricing but I'm sure he maintains his quality. Another place you could try is this garage at the top of Hill Street Dehiwala. When going up from Galle road you will find it on the right near the split in the road. They specialize in quick paint jobs, cant remember the name though. Took a Nissan Bluebird CVT there and they did a decent job and matched the paint very well.
  5. Hey guys, my 1988 familia hatchback has seen better days and it's 1.3L engine has got to go.. Am looking for a 1.5 engine. The B5ZE would be awesome or the "Interplay" series. Would need the complete wire harness as well since the old engine is a carb. Appreciate any help or direction you can give, have asked a few people for help to look for one but no luck so far..
