  1. Yeah, they did charge extra 2000-2500 for that. But I'v been watching it throughout the process ( Because I'm so particular on what what they do to my vehicle), and they did use the water gun after spraying off some chemical. And I normally do my services at C*rePo*nt Pannipitiya where it's spacious and less crowded than the Thalawathugoda branch where I did this particular service. and not that much satisfied with their respect to the vehicles at that T'wathugoda branch. And thanks again for all your ideas. The reason for not to do my services at T*y*ta L*nka is that sometimes they use SAE 5-30 for hybrids, when they run outta SAE 0-20 oil which is the recommended oil for hybrids.
  2. Hi all, I own a Toyota Aqua. And I do my regular services at C*rePo*nt. Last time when I took it there for the service that guy who changed oil requested me to do an engine bay wash saying that area is so dusty. Upto that point I only allowed them to use the high pressure air (Because from the place I bought the car asked me not to wash the engine bay as it might cause further damage). The reason that serviceman told me was that due that dust it might create an unnecessary heat in the invertor and may lead into early problematic situations. Also he stated that they use a special chemical instead of water. So I allowed them to do so. During the process I saw them using high pressure water. Since I was in a hurry to my workplace I was not able to ask them why they used water as well. So my questions are 1) Is it okay to do such an engine bay wash especially for a hybrid which is filled with complicated electronics? 2) Will the dust really remain as a causative factor for heat generation in the investor (like the dust layer acting as a heat insulator) ? 3) If it is necessary to do the wash how often should I do it (I know this question may sound stupid as it depends on the amount of dust collected. But I mean generally is it necessary to do it like I change oil in every 5000km's. I use solely this car for driving within the Colombo city) Thanks in advance!
  3. Recently I bought a Mitsubishi Montero V98W, which had been previously bought for the permit, where the all the accesories were fixed from Un*t*d M*t*rs (with all the bills and all) except for the roof rails. The previous owner was reluctant to fix it as they want to drill the top and fix it. So today I called Elc*rd*, there also they are following the same procedure. So does anyone of you know of a place where I can fix those two bars without drilling the upper surface. Thanks in advance.
  4. Actually the "rattle" which I'm referring here is kind of a noise which comes after the engine starts off, not along with that starting process. And it comes only in light acceleration, neither when the engine starts off while it is in the idling position nor in hard acceleration.
  5. No no that's something else right which occurs when ICE kicks in. What it had meant was that the rattle which comes from the clutch due to the jerky movement in itself, that's what i got. Anyway correct me if I'm wrong-not an expert in this arena.
  6. Thanks tcfern1 for your idea! Today i came across in a hybrid forum in SL that a person is having the same problem as mine. He had done an engine tune up even at T*y*ta L*nka. But even after that he had been facing the same problem-just that noise. Then what TL people had told him was that sometimes the clutch between the engine the motor tends to make these sort of jerky noises due to the shifts in between the two power sources, and told him that it's all normal.
  7. Hi, This is my first post on Autolanka. I own a Toyota aqua 2014, which i bought a month ago. By that time it had done 14000km. From the day since i bought the car i noticed that there is sort of a rattling sound which comes from engine compartment when the car shifts from EV mode to the engine powered mode in moderate acceleration. This scenario doesn't take place in hard acceleration. Btw apart from that sound there is no any other noticeable issue like warning light appearing or lacking engine power and so and so.Any idea on this issue? Your thoughrs are highly appreciated. Thanks in advance!
