  1. Did you purchase this car.? I have heard most of reconditioned GP1 and Vezels have 40% to 50% Usable capacity (when the time register in Sri Lanka) so 7 years old GP1 definitely has half of that percentage. Then 25% usable capacity is normal for 2011 car right? (If previous owner didn't replace the battery). I think presently all GP1’a in that range with original battery. if anyone buy GP1 these days have to ready for battery replacement in near future.
  2. I don't know why people always expect this kind of high fuel figures from cars and always lie about their cars fuel figures. Like Crosswind says Maruti and nanos will give you close figure. Nissans can never come to close. I can agree with mcs627 From my own experience the only car give you best fuel figure is 2nd Gen Toyota Prius I owns a one few months back and it gives 15+ in City and 25+ out stations. Sometime it was over 30. if Toyotas fuel calculation system correct it will be amazing figure. But like matroska says it was 2007 and price will be over 30 lacks ( in Sri Lanka;s Tax system when cars getting old and wasting price getting high) No Depreciation. People can buy a car use it and abuse it as much as can and when repairs comes dressed up it sell it for higher price Amazing. (Specially magical Toyota's). So never by old Prius for that amazing fuel economy.
  3. I can't believe Suzuki still have this issue on their cars. From my experience on Suzuki Racks most of time fault is with steering column (Intermediate Shaft) see my previous post on this In this case as thirtyone's post it will also with steering column (Intermediate Shaft) my experience with 2003 Suzuki Cruze but on 2017 Swift?. It will definitely steering column (Intermediate Shaft). on the tie rack wears it self it can be replaced or repaired but it will not solve the noise you have to repair shaft also. in my case as above my previews post shaft replacing didn't solve the problem. few weeks later noise came back and i have repaired it again. I think this is their manufacturing fault.
  4. No. The inner CV joints of Chevrolet Cruze are different than Suzuki swift. Although Swift and Cruze same car the only parts different is this CV Axle. Outer CV joints are same but not inner ones. Unfortunately you can't find brand new inner CV joint for Cruze in Sri Lanka. If you lucky some one one import it . Japanese used ones also very rare to find and available in whole axle if found very expensive due to unavailability.
  5. Thank you very much for your explain. That mean some cars will give problem and some aren't. I have read lots of reviews regarding Honda Fit GP1/Honda Jazz on the web. most of them says Honda Fit is a very relabel car. They didn't even mention this error may be due to this only occur on JDM cars. You are correct most of Sri Lankan hybrid service persons aware of this problem and they all says it has oil burning issue. It will cause price reduce of this model. Thanks
  6. I have brought on for Toyota Prius from place called Rex.... Motors at Colombo. You can search its advertisement at ik...... website as smart key. cost is Rs.4500. But i think its also too expensive for just for plastic housing.
  7. One of my friend also planning to buy GP1. This Means All Honda GP1 cars in Sri Lanka has this probelm? or only recalled chassis? But it will be possible as all GP1's has same product line engines and also it was a designing problem? Please Consult me
  8. Is some one know are Honda Fit GE6(non Hybrid) and Honda Fit GP1(Hybrid) same car? Is GE6 only difference it doesn't have hybrid Battery? Are other parts (Body, Engine, Suspension,Interior is same) so the GP 1 spares will compatible with GE6. I have searched the Forum buy couldn't find the answers. If anyone know in details please knowledge me. Any idea highly appreciated.
  9. This is very true. If your car is Swift Jeep Model with M13A engine. There is nothing wrong with your engine. 7-8 in city and 12 outstation (with AC) is what you can get maximum from this car because I also have one.
  10. Hi Is anyone know about Nissan Note Car in Sri Lanka. (Not new Epower one) I am interest about old 2005-2007 versions. I have search the forum but not much details found. How about spare parts and body parts? Web details indicate it has Nissan Tiida Engine. So the engine parts will not be a problem. I want to know is it wise to go from Chevrolet Cruze to Nissan Note? Is Note better than Cruze (Pros and Cons)? Any idea appreciated.

  12. In the city heavy traffic with AC 8kmpl is absolutely normal for Chevrolet Cruze maximum will be 10kmpl. Outstations will do 12 to 14kmpl depend on driving style. I think nothing wrong with your cruze since you have already done engine tuneup.
  13. First of all I am not an expert. But as a cruze owner i can give you my experience about Cruze. There are few humming noises I have resolved in my cruze. Important thing is you get noise after few km’s drive. When mine has same issue the problem with the bearing fixed on the right side axel (between gear box and inner CV joint). If it was worn out you will definitely get humming noise. (Noise will come after 5 minutes 10 minutes drive. not at the start)) so check it as first step. If not Then check both inner CV Joints and both front wheel bearings. My cruze gave humming noises from all above parts and I have replaced all of them.
  14. Download this manual of Suzuki ignis from following link. I think 90% of data compatible with Chevrolet Cruze. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nmy78ec477a5q8p/AAA5EnQTZskQjAUPJOCH90aia/99500_80G00_01E?dl=0
  15. Yes last few days Only forum didn't load properly. I have tried SLT ADSL and Fiber Connection. Both failed. Now its fixed.
  16. Great info. This calculator shows best compatible tyre size for my existing wheels. Thanks.
  17. Thank you very much The Stig for your detailed explanation. That's what i exactly needed. Of course i understand the limitations. Yes comfort and road noise is my primary goals. So I definitely go for bridgestone ecopia or Dunlop. Thanks Hoonigan for your comment. I will change my tyers asap.
  18. Hi Experts I need some advice for my tires. I have read lots of threads related to this topic on the forum. But i need expert advice to replace my tires. When i brought my car one year ago it was fixed with brand new 4 tires. It was Chinese brand (BCT S600) and i knew previous owner fixed those just to sell the car. I am a daily runner average 40 km per day and now done 12000km. treads of the all 4 tires are totally gone and every time i visit to Tyre shops for check air or wheel alignment they says the tires are bad and rubber is very hard. But i know it can run further few thousand kilo meters. The my question is this is the reason for low riding comfort and high road noise i am experiencing form my car? The recommended Tyre size is 165/65/R15 but existing size is 185/65/R15 is this also a reason? Can i get noticeable difference if i replace the tires with good brand and correct size. also previous owner has replaced the original alloy wheels with Chinese brand ( I don't know why hell he was done it) is that make trouble when put correct Tyre size? Is this Chinese BCT S600 is actually bad brand? what are the good quality tire brands for my car. Car is Chevrolet Cruze. Advises are highly appreciated.
  19. This is old topic and i thought to share my present experience (also reply to asanka_rg) Do you still have steering rack noise on Chevrolet Cruze? I am happy to say I have resolved my steering rack daka daka noise last week. The issue was not with steering rack whole time it was with Steering shaft which inter connect rack to steering wheel. There is small play with steering shaft couplers and very noticeable loose with shaft joint (The joint which use for adjust the shaft). Problem found out by myself as this has been big headache to me as I have already replaced the whole steering rack few months back. To find the issue I drove cruze on potholes with my left foot tight to the steering shaft under the dash board and noise disappeared. Straight away went to the mechanic and replace the shaft. Very easy replacement just has to remove two bolts (shaft upper and lower) under dash board. Few used shafts found easily (removed from Suzuki swift steering column as they are same). I am pretty sure this steering shaft Play/rattle is a common issue on Suzuki swift and Cruze because I have replaced shaft twice. First one replaced also has play. Second one is OK. Another thing Chevrolet Cruze steering rack 100% identical with Suzuki Swift HT51 Model. every used parts shops mislead me except one place which I bought shaft. I have compared my old steering rack with swift rack they are same. When searching web for this issue I found following about steering shaft. http://www.ttora.com/forum/2-early-tacoma-tech/161689-diagnose-fix-steering-play-rattle.html They are suggesting put welding dot for shaft and repair but my mechanic says it will be risky for ECU and the electronic component and if you want to remove steering column first have to remove entire steering rack. Happy to say now my cruze not have any kind of noise from rack. I have attached few photos from my old shaft
  20. I don't know exactly. But according to the Spare parts venders and Mechanics it doesn't fit. for my cruze first i try to buy swift rack but spare part shop says it doesn't fir for Cruze and have replace with exactly Cruze rack. The price was Swift Rs14.000 and Cruze 16000.00 so far the following parts i have replaced and repaired doesn't fit from suzuki swift Shock absobers = doesn't fit Engine mount = doesn't fit completely different Outer CV joints = doesn't fit Steering Rack = doesn't fit Inner CV joint = doesn't fit
  21. did you solve the problem? I have exactly the same noise from on my Cruze. This is very mysterious noise to me. My cruze was very noisy before causing various reasons. I did lots of replacements to get rid of those noises. I have replaced all Shock absorbers, suspension mounts, outer CV joints, Driver side engine mount (Gel type), Front and rear wheel bearings etc. and got some improvement. Now the driver side inner CV joint give Taka taka noise when climbing hills with load. Still I try to find cruze inner CV joints. But this steering rack noise getting trouble me from the beginning and never went away. One mechanic repaired the rack ends and replace the bush (Tightened the steering wheel) noise went down for very short time and came back. Another mechanic says I have to replace the complete steering rack so did. It was very hard to find Chevrolet cruze steering rack. I was lucky found one and replaced. Few days after noise came back. Mechanics opinion was replaced new rack is also faulty. I went to another mechanic and he is still trying to find the problem. Noise is only coming when driving off roads. Any idea is highly appreciating.
  22. .vob files never play directly on DVD player. so car DVD also need full standard DVD Video disc. (you can convert and burn it through Nero Vision, Ulead, cyberlink power Director kind applications). Most of Chinese DVD players can show any major car bands as logo. so i think yours is Chinese one( Original Japanese ones has only Japanese language) if yours Chinese one .mpg files definitely play in your player. remember that when converting to .mpg choose low resolution option (as 352 x 240) MPEG1 (not MPEG2) otherwise high resolution .mpg will not play.
  23. Is your player original Japanese one? It will not play Videos from USB. (any kind of format. I have tried Honda/Toyota players) Original Japanese DVD players with USB support only play DVD Video disk only (you have to convert your videos to DVD Video Disc (which are playable in home DVD players) USB support only for .mp3 music files. Chinese car DVD players play USB movies but have convert video clips to .mpg format (Most of the players) some Chinese players will play .mp4 as they don't have standard for their technology.
