HI, Automotive lubricant oils What do you all think about unmet needs with related to lubricant oil industry (Engine oil − Gear oil − Grease − Hydraulic and transmission fluid) and any issues that has not been addressed by lubricant manufacturers and distributors. Consider brands like Caltex, Mobil, Laugfs, Servo, Hyrax, Toyota, Castrol) (This is for a market survey and pls share your valuable inputs) Thanks

Thanks. I asked from them. They said it'll be around Rs5500 for service and additional for parts. A*W said they'd charge Rs9500 for all.

Vehicle Service - Maruti Suzuki Alto

No. Its not under warranty. Now 25000kms and 5 years. Next service will be after 750kms. Its Maruti Suxzuki Alto (2010) and fuel consumption is 11.5km/l to 12.5km/l in Colombo traffic. One of my friend said (He drives a Lancer CS1) that should be more than that for an Alto? can you suggest a better place to get a tuneup done? or Agents will do a better job?

Vehicle Service - Maruti Suzuki Alto

Thank you for your opinion. But sometimes I feel the pickup is not enough. That maybe because of 800cc engine. I'm not sure. How can I identify whether a tuneup is necessary.

Vehicle Service - Maruti Suzuki Alto

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. Yes. I read the manual and it clarifies lots of doubts. However I'm still learning about vehicle maintenance. I'm also thinking of getting a tune up done as it has never done previously. (25000kms now)

Vehicle Service - Maruti Suzuki Alto

Hi, Thanks for the response. When I bought the car its done 10000kms and all the free services done by A*W. However after that I got the services done by a local service center (Only Engine oil and filter, air filter changed). I'm really confused why some experience guys say it is not compulsory to change coolant, gear oil, brake oil since there are no issues with the system. Rookantha

    Noice Could Not Recovered

Dear Mr. Silvy, Found your email address in Autolanka forum. I'm also a member of the forum. I'd be really thankful if you can share your expert ideas on below matter. I own a Maruti Alto 800 (2010) and 25000km service is around the corner. I have never taken it to A*W for maintenance but thought that I'd take the car there (Rajagiriya Service center) this time as few have recommended and after reading posts in Autolanka. As my knowledge in this side is weak I'd like to get an advice from you. Hope you'll help me. In the manual it says to do the following after 25000kms. 1. Change brake oil (Never changed) 2. Change coolant (Never changed) 3. Change gear oil (Never changed) 4. change spark plugs (Never changed) 5. Do an engine tune up (Never done) 6. Wheel alignment (Done recently) 7. Change Engine oil (Done 20000km) 8. Change Air filter and Oil filter (Air filter changed 15000km and oil filter 20000km) What is you idea about above. Some say it is not compulsory to do all these right after 25000kms done. I've attached a quote from A*W which I was taken few months back. It say all together it'd cost Rs17000. But or last service I only had to spend Rs6500. Pls advise Regards Rookantha

Good Tyre Brand For My Alto Car (145 80 12R)

Hi, You are lucky that you could use MRF original tyres till 50000kms. I've only done 25000kms by my Alto and in the last week found that the steel cord of front right tyre is broken and comes out to the surface. So will have to change tyres. I'd like to know what is the brand you selected to replace MRF? and you replaced again with 145/80 or a one with higher diameter? I wish to replace my tyres with 165/80 or 155/80 and would like to know your idea? Thanks

    "fuel Shark" Fuel Saver

Hi, I came across this gadget in the web and would like to know your experiences and ideas about it. Does it really work? as the manufacturers say this is the way it works "FUELSHARK - HOW IT WORKS JUST PLUG AND SAVE! The components in your car's electrical system are interconnected with each other. To get superior performance from your car, it must have a clean electrical circuit environment. Many cars develop electrical imbalances over time due to the power demands made by various accessories and normal wear on batteries, spark plugs and other parts. To maintain optimum electrical performance and improve MPG, your car will run better with a stable voltage environment. The Fuelshark provides just that. It is a multi-purpose Voltage Stabilizer. Fuelshark's design instantly stabilizes your car's electrical system, resulting in better fuel efficiency and overall performance. By stabilizing your car's electrical system, one big benefit is that your engine's spark plugs deliver a strong even spark, resulting in better combustion. This can increase power and MPG, in addition to having cleaner emissions. This revolutionary technology provides consumers with an inexpensive way to save money at the gas pump and help our environment at the same time. Better yet, there are no installation charges. Just plug the Fuelshark into your cars lighter adapter and the blue light will let you know that the Fuelshark is working, and reminds you that you are saving money! '
