  1. Hi Guys - one of the original rear speakers in my car went off (I have disabled the front speakers).. So I bought new Original JBL speakers and installed. after sometime I noticed that when I press brakes the speaker stops for 1 or 2 seconds and then starts again.. Also when I adjusted the power mirror also it happened.. this doenst happen all the time, but occasionally when apply brakes etc.. now in that same side speaker (which blew off earlier) there is a distorted noise coming continously when playing the setup. Took it to the setup fixing guy and he said its because the kenwood setup I have might have a blown up IC and thats why the noise is distorted in one side of the speaker. Took it to an electrician and he said there is nothing he things wrong with the electrical side and to take it to the speaker fixing guys. So if the problem is actually not in the kenwood setup, i would waste money buying a new one, so I need to make sure actually its a fault in the player itself. Anyone has an idea?

  2. After having owned 3 different petrol car models now by Nissan (Presea, Cefiro A33, Bluebird U13), I should say there is no difference between the comfort level and pickup between the Cefiro and Bluebird u13. the U13 has the same comfort level and speed. The driving pleasure is more in the U13 though. So according to my perception I would rate the Bluebird U13 as the best, Cefiro comes second and Presea comes third. (This is in terms of comfort and speed and driving pleasure). In terms of fuel economy once again the bluebird U13 petrol does better on fuel, presea is next and cefiro comes third.

There is a old time guy and capable fellow who fixes these and also has spares and new units.  In some models, once you remove the gauge, the speedo and other needles fall out - hence take care as calibration is needed thee after. - Faced this with the Nissan as I tired to replace a bub.... Not like the Mazda ones

The location - In front of Kirulapone Police, there is a road, go on that road for about 200m, and the place is on the left side , just as you take a small hill, the road leads to baseline road.

He know his stuff and has been there for ages ---

Also a trend nowadays with crazy prices of cars - removing warning bulbs or pasting Instillation tape  over it - have come across a few ..... So take care  when buying .....

I thought you were flying off to the states and not buying a car here.

Bluebird ARX or Hardtop as they call it is a nice car, loved that design. As to the beige interior I have seen a few and a friend of mine had one when we were in school but not sure if it was a diesel. Congrats on the purchase!

it was the plan to fly soon, but plans got delayed or not happen. So didnt want to stay carless. Thanks mate.

    Congrats mate.

It is not that common the ARX in Sri Lanka, if i am not mistaken.

Do let me know the parts, got the same model ARX. I should be able to get them once we out from level 4 lockdown here in Auckland.

Oh im glad to meet a fellow ARX'er :) so you source parts for your ARX in NZ right so are there enough ARX parts in NZ?

Okay...will keep an eye out for one...funnily I cannot find the part number for the rear triangular badge. The front one is there (but it just says Nissan) in the parts catalog but the rear triangular one is not 😕- are both the same ? and what is meant by bluebirdish ?

Yes both are the same. Just like the presea r10 that had the same badge in the rear and front. what I meant by blubirdish is the triangular nissan badge that came only on this bluebird model :) there were so many ARX items in yahoo auction in february, but now not even a single item for arx available and very less u13 items now available in the auctions, which is why i thought Il tell you to keep an eye on one if you come across over there. I dont even mind that triangular badge with the actual bluebird on it instead of the nissan one (that came in the su14's)

Congrats...soyour frameless door fetish continues :)
she looks nice...give it a good clean and post up some pics :)
also..yes...please do paint it gun metallic :)

2 things I want to find. The bluebird emblem in the front grille (which is faded now) and the Nissan triangulish bluebirding emblem on the dickey which is also faded. If you come across these in Japan do let me know il pay you to get it for me :)

well yeah..not the odometer but the meter cluster....if you are referring to the lever position lights on the meter cluster. Could be the bulbs or could be the wiring from the lever itself (can get worn out over time). Worst case scenario is that the cluster circuitry is damaged at which point you either just need to live with it or try to get it fixed or replaced.

Cant live. If i have a car I need it to be picture perfect. Thanks mate. Il take it to the popular odometer dudes in SL to check.

  10. Guys in my bluebird u13, all the speedometers and the sensor lights are working but the gear shift display lights are not working. The complete gear indicator light column is pitch black even in the afternoon, I dont see the gear indicators at all. What might be the issue?

  11. I bought myself a U13 ARX today. I should say, though this has a 1.8litre engine this has the same pickup and speed as the Cefiro. You feel the car is heavy and very well balanced. Parts are very hard to find though. Had to almost kiss the ass of a spare part show owner to find me some body parts I needed as he had to spend 2 hours just looking for the parts I wanted. Worthy ride though

  12. @GaruPresea auto does 7.5 in City and 13-14 outstation - this is for Auto cars. Glad I have inspired you. However now the presea market goes between 20-25 given the current market. enough of parts since it has the same b14 engine. I'd recommend to buy though.

Keeping it period appropriate 👍. Battery drain could be due to the stereo or something else. Check the parasitic draw to confirm.

ok thanks. I think its due to stereo because i saw a light from the setup in the night even when the key is not put in.

Cassettes! Jeez! From where do you buy them? Don't they deteriorate over time rather quickly?

Anyways, you'll have to set the EQ, volume and will loose the last played if you use CDs. I hope you get what I'm trying to say.

If the stereo works after removing the display, then go for it. Also, is there an after market security system? That also will draw a current.

I have casettes with me i dont have to buy them.. these are over 40 years old now. what i mean by removing the display is remove the display and not use the setup at all because after removing the display the stereo wont work. So if the stereo wont work, there will be no battery consumption right? No security system also.. I removed the security system, dvd reverse cam all of that and threw away, as i dont like those new stuff in old cars. I want to keep the car stock and old.

Do you have a multimeter? Do a parasitic draw test to see what is drawing current. You can re do the parasitic draw test after removing the display unit to see if removing it fixes the battery drain. A temporary fix is to pull the fuse. Stereo system will reset if you do this. So you'll have to pair the phone again every time you put the fuse back and want to drive.

If you use the car sparingly, keep the negative terminal removed from the battery or install a battery kill switch that goes on the battery terminal. A trickle charger would be a good investment to keep the battery charged if you drive less than 5km/month.

phone why phone? I've never paired the phone. I'm old school. I use casettes and CD's :D I couldnt be bothered to do all that, so I removed the display unit itself. Problem solved then right?

I had the same issue in my car, but I didn't see any light coming in the setup. Only 2 days I could park the car, battery was draining out. I took the car to TL and they found that set up was the culprit as it was drawing a small current. Since it was after market fixture they refused to repair it and instead did some changes so that I could on the set up only after car engine starts. So, I had to tune up radio every morning and ran like about one week and fixed a new setup. Problem solved.

If I remove the display unit from the unit (its a single din audio player) then will it not consume the battery? (since you can separately remove just the display unit without removing the whole thing. I dont want to use the unit as I dont drive more than 5km's for a month.

  17. guys, in the night I noticed that there was a green light slightly coming from inside the volume button in the car setup though the car wasnt started. I checked closely and this light in coming from the inside of the setup.. a slight light, its like the setup was on (but nothing displayed, but a slight light was coming from the display too).. and after 5 days today when i started the car it indicated the battery and the car didnt start, so that means the battery is gone.. I'm sure the battery must have died because of this because its a new battery not even 1 year used. But How can the setup function without even putting the car keys inside for a light to display? what should i do for this?
