Something I did which no one knows. Since 2014 since Preseas were advertised in sites, I used to keep a database of preseas, their mileages, number of owners, the car numbers, colors etc. in 2019 I had a database of close to 150 preseas in SL. Sad to see 90% of the preseas advertised again after the first time I saw it, doesn't match with the mileage I have in my database. All are tampered. I lost this file last year, however, I have all the details of it in my mind, so I sort of know personal details of a lot of Preseas in the country. Its sad to see the current owners think their car is the best knowing that some cars has a tampered mileage of over 200k
-
True that. Its really difficult to find a car with untampered millage. I m someone who would love to maintain and purchase a car with actual millage regardless of how much it has been driven.
To give an example, i sold my lancer having it clocked 325k KM and my City with 223k KM on the clock with full history from year of YOM. And the owner didn't think twice to purchase it has he haven't seen such a car with full service history including millage. -
@PerfMad same here! People usually tamper the mileage because normies run away from seeing high mileage numbers
But people like me love high mileage cars because they are legit. Our 406 has almost 333,000km on the clock and it's like a badge of honor among the ocean of the so called "90,000 genuine mileage" cars.

Suddenly its raining Preseas today on ad sites. All these days there were nothing. dafaq is going on?
-
@VVTiI remember that car back in the day when I was looking for Preseas.
-
When it comes to car colours. Out of these 5, what would be your first, second, third, fourth and fifth preference? The colours would be Black, White, Blue, Red, Silver/Metallic colour
-
Can you only do 1 one day transfers within 6 months? and to do another 1 day transfer you have to wait 6 months?? thats what the RMV site says. Is it the case?

@PerfMadI also had the issue of the license expiring, so I checked when handing over the book. There is a form you can fill and get it endorsed by them, which allows you to get the license done.
-
@Supra_Naturalyes. I got it the same day as there was only 2 months to renew the license but since the places were locked down and i assume i have to go to maligawatta (which was under lock down area) to collect it since the book is still in transfer process. So didn't want to take a risk of getting infected, and decided to take it online just to be on the safe side.

Yeah I think I finally found out what I should do. I will be changing preseas every 2 months or so, so that I can keep searching for preseas, as well as drive different preseas at the same time. No matter how good the presea I have would be, I always after sometime feel its not good enough, I wanna own someone else's presea and easily get bored with mine. Just like I get bored with girls. So this is what i should do. Damn why didn't this come to my mind before???
-
Sort of found a Presea. But reluctant to buy it cuz after I buy it what if there will be a nicer presea advertised? I want to try presea's of every colour now. So maybe Il keep changing preseas' every 2 months so that I can do the whole colour spectrum.
-
still inside my head I dont feel right cuz i know its the same car @PerfMad
-
Finding a woman is also like finding a Presea. All what's left available is cheap chassis damaged ones with many previous owners. One with lesser number of owners and good in shape don't come cheap and gets sold soon.
-
None of the Presea's with english numbers advertised are up for sale. Yesus. There are no english numbered Presea's in Sri Lanka for sale? Which year are we living in? 2099?
-
Aiyooooo. I forgot to take out my car sunglass holder I bought from ebay, when I sold the car. Shik! It was an expensive one. Shik!

This car obsession is a pissu thing noh?
-
@HyaenidaeI might have told when I was upset over something else maybe. When im upset i don't love anything

Refreshing the 3 car ad sites with the keyword 'Presea', every 5 minutes. Is it just me or anyone else does this when they are looking for a car?
-
is it just me or anyone else feels that, when you are looking to buy a car, its just one certain thing that attracts you to a certain car?.. Like maybe a number plate, maybe a tire, or maybe the seats that completely attracts you to buy that certain car and not the entire car as a whole?

@KavvzI believe if there is something to happen it will happen no matter what. If the time is right to die i will die.. So corona wont stop me from anything.
-
Oh boy....well the issue is, none of us live alone. Well even if you do, there will still be some appu or someone cooking or someone cleaning so, you'll be getting them sick along with yourself (hopefully not). Anyways, not my call. Just saying what I'm doing these days and that is: Staying home as much as possible...

Selling the previous car on open papers was a bad idea. The new owner has already knocked the whole of the front. Not sure how many he has run over. I gave it for open papers because he said its for his wife he is buying and RMV is closed so don't date it.

He can insure the car under his name . No need to wait until the car gets transferred. We have used a car for 8 years on open papers but still managed to put an insurance. Transferred only like 2 years before we decided to sell the car
Cz initially bought the car planning to sell it within a short period of time, but Ammi decided to keep it for along time and she couldn't get it transferred back in the day(since she was lazy to get it done by herself)

Ok guys I really miss a car right now. Seeing my garage empty and all that makes me wanna buy another Presea. But really not a black one this time, I got irritated of black because I got fedup washing it when it gets dusty soon. So yeah. I'm looking for a White Presea again!
-
Goodbye Presea, you were a good kid!

@matroskawell, when you think of it, I actually started to miss the presea again 😕 Went to colombo in a cab and came back and I'm like urrrm.. I think I need a car, and why not another presea
-
Giving away the Presea if I get a very high offer over 2.1. If it doesn't meet my expected offer, I won't sell it. Why? Because I'm bored with my life and keeping it only cause I've invested a lot on it. I will either way sell it when Covid is over to fly for Music concerts. I don't love cars anymore.

@PreseaLover Everything degrades over time my man. There's a good chance for your love for music concerts to last as long as your love for cars did

-
You have no idea of the new 'Colour change process' at RMV you guys... went 2 times and still couldn't get it done.. I don't think I ever will... unlike those days, you cant get it done easily now. if you ever decide to change colour or any modification to your car which requires book update, might as well forget about it cuz they wont approve it unless you go there 4,5 times and kiss their ass. I will separately create a new post for the new process for colour changes and modifications.

To me...the problem lies in you and everyone else who goes through the system.
When you take your car for a color change (or engine swap or any other update change approval needed) what they do is a technical inspection on the car. You need to pass the technical inspection for anything to be approved. Your car failed the technical inspection. Period. Mind you these inspections are mandatory for all cars in many other parts of the world on an annual/periodic basis.
you failed the inspection because there were defects on your car. Instead of fixing the bulb and the oil leak you offered a bribe....so your car was still in a questionable state and instead of fixing it you opted to make the inspector richer with that money; just like every other guy who goes there.
So tell me....why would these guys ever do their jobs right ? Why would the the country ever change ?
-
I went home and checked in the weekend... The bulb was working and there was no oil leak.. the oil stains were from a previous repair i guess.. he saw the stains and told there is a oil leak so i believed the f**k... when he said the bulb was not working, i didnt really check infront of him, i blindly accepted what he said... my fault so what to do.
-
Which goes back to my question....why would these guys ever want to do their jobs properly when they can make a quick buck by just faking it ? If they did do their jobs properly the guy would be properly qualified and would actually know what he/she is doing and would have realized that the oil stain was old.
Sad state of affairs....as i always do....I blame the education system for this....
