Its quite a common occurrence on the Starlet groups unfortunately, recently there was a GT for sale that was completely restored and completely built (TD09 Turbo, D2 Brakes, Fully Built Internals and WEPR everything) I think his asking price was somewhere close to the 3mil mark (Bone stock Glanza range) and he got haha'd to oblivion. 

But I can see how the other side to this argument exists as well 

The issue is...in a market place like Sri Lanka, most of the people liking or disliking the advert would be brokers and their goons..and then pundits who don't even have a bloody license and just graduated off their chilin-chilin bicycle. So...there is a good chance that good cars get ridiculued out of good descriptions and prices just so that these morons can push through their dressed up junk.

Most probably a faulty sensor in the seatbelt latch mechanism or just loose wiring under the seat. I had the ABS  light up in the dash due to moisture under the seat

Seat belt light, especially on these older cars, is not anything too serious. 99% of the time it is a matter of the sensor going bad or the cut off on the belt lock going bad. Usually happens because dust gets stuck etc....if the car has pretensioning seat belts...then again it could be with the sensor and cut off switch or it could be one of the sensors or  the entire pre-tensioning system.

Had the same situation, I think the sensor under the seat has gone bad. It miraculously fixed itself (not sure what I did though)

Alternatively: Embrace it, paste that sticker that says "No Airbags, No Seatbelts We Die Like Real Men"

Me too but only if it was me who put that 250k kms on that odo, starting from zero mileage 

Haven't managed to do that but am getting there, slowly but surely.

In my case it would be highly unlikely scenario as i would love to change cars every 4-6 years

No surprises there, the number of cars offered for sale keeps dropping - consequently, prices go up and up

It should do more or less around 8-10 in city limits with average traffic. My Manual VTEC did around 11-12 in city limits. Depends on how u drive though.

i would say newer cars interior and exterior bits ain't solid as it used to be back in the day.

Yeah...Manual are fun to drive....but depends on the car as well....it can be very unfun to drive very fast of the clutch is too heavy and the shifting is clunky and hard, especially in rush hour traffic.

This can also cause back problems if one has a sensitive back or other issues.

I'd rather go in the bus than driving a manual  

@iRagetrue thats why i never wanted to upgrade my clutches in both vehicles to performance ones. I love driving the manual in traffic  may be i dont belong to this universe #rofl

That's why i miss driving a manual so badly now 😢 

And it's an absolute certainty that each and every one of those has been thoroughly used by at least 10 guys by the time you get your hands on it

Too bad! Had you put a shape and compromised (really not even a compromise, you won that round, what more do u want...) you'd be driving around in a Presea right about now! 

@Kavvzyou are right. I'm single, waiting to be a sugar daddy. If I bought that presea, all the excitement of finding a presea will be gone, and I will tend to sell it soon after I buy it you see. 

We have an aspiring 'Sugar Daddy' on our hands now do we....Whoa!  

you know at one point you have to stop purchasing preseas if u follow your equation right??

purchase abused car and restore it. atleast you'll save one car which would end up as a parts car in someones junk yard

@PerfMadlove to. But now the car market prices are batshit crazy. Even an abused car goes over 17 laks. Sigh. 

Buy an abused car and restore it...that way you can restore it to the level of quality you want and can trust the work that has gone in to it.

Only a very few cars have good build and maintenance histories...so 99% of the so called perfect cars that you will come across...you will not know what has been done and how. This is the risk in SL because there are so many cars dressed up for a quick sale. 

@pug306xsiupgrade as in number wise. same car only. for me even from HQ-6493 to HQ-6494 is also an upgrade. That is why I sold my presea for 5 laks more than the current market price. Buy it or leave it. this is my price. And someone bought it not a cent was reduced. So when you are living in SL you have to use the Sri Lankan mentality. This is not America. 

but machan it's difficult to quantify upgrade. Cos  HQ-6493 to HQ-6494 could very well be HQ-6494 was built earlier than 6493. But yeah that's how the SL vibe goes... 

@matroskaexactly. Sad story. That's why when I advertised also I advertised as 2004 car. cuz our folks only cares about the registered year and the number plates  But there is nothing different in a 1998 model presea and a 2000 presea. Even in a 95 model and a 2000 only the lights and buffer are different. engine and interior options are all same. 

You want an abused European car so you can post 199 status updates a day about things going wrong with it - you can start a thread if you prefer - "PL's misadventures with XXX"

waste of money. If im u, i would have bought it  rather than wasting my time and money hunting for a car. I got fedup searching one for 2 weeks after selling my previous car.

But common i know you love roaming around searching for cars so NO COMMENTS
