  1. Hey Rather than looking for a gearbox replace, try changing the gearbox oil with a recommended brand for ur specific model.. Um not quite sure about the price as it may differ.. But i hope it should be not more than 10,000 .. please do check with the agents / or someone who uses the same model. May I know the Year of manufacture of ur car? Is it a CVT gearbox or conventional gearbox? If yours is a conventional gearbox, cost should be less... If its a CVT gearbox then oil cost should be somewhere within the budget i've mentioned..
  2. Hi To me it looks like gearbox pressure isn't enough during cold start.. It takes time to build up the pressure inside the gearbox.. However when was the last time you changed the gearbox oil? how much have u done after changing oil (if u did change the oil) and whats the ODO meter reading now? If you haven't change oil, then i would prefer changing the oil and see whether you face similar issue.. If it does then its time for you to go for a gearbox overhaul or replace with a recon Cheers
  3. Machan check ebay.. Check whether below link is a fit http://www.ebay.com/itm/13420-65D00-Throttle-Position-Sernsor-Fits-Chevrolet-Tracker-Suzuki-Vetara-XL7-/281777024490?hash=item419b382dea:g:EtkAAOSwu4BV06s7&vxp=mtr
  4. You are welcome and thanks for updating the thread with location and prices
  5. Hi Machan.. I have a City GD8 2004 model, i had an issue with the highbeam as well, and same as you root cause was switch has burnt really bad. However before replacing the switch make sure that you have used correct voltage bulbs (may be previous owner have increased it from 55-60 to 100). This is the main cause for such issue. If that's the case, either u can replace once with correct voltage / make sure to use relays. After that you can buy a switch. I found mine from Panchikawatta like almost 3 years ago or something around 7500 LKR. However the seller didnt wanted to sell just the switch as it came with whole steering column and it costed around 25-30k... But after having lengthy conversation he agreed to give it. but it took me like 5-6 hours to find a good one (as mine is like almost brandnew condition). I really cant remember the exact shop, but if you walk abit and ask from shops (stay away from kaakko) they will guide you to some resourceful places.. Im pretty sure tec motors must be having em, but should be within the limit of what u quoted.. I will update you on the shop if i get to find the receipt .. not quite sure where i kept it exactly.. However just give a call to Thilak on 0776330336 and see whether he has any (im not 100% sure about this no) but i have saved, and should be related to some seller who i bought switches for some reason :D) just give it a try and try ur luck.. Cheers
  6. Could it be due to a fuse ? Once i had an issue in my lancer where fan and AC works at times.. but sometimes it doesnt.. and later found out that it was due to bad fuse..
  7. contact no and location would be helpful.. also does he work on Honda vehicles ?
  8. Hi @asanka_rg In conventional auto gear boxes, some vibration in D with brake pressed all the way down is expect-able.. but if its bit excessive, then first thing you need to check is all you mounts condition.. And as per you its all good.. Just curious is this vibration comes only when the AC is on or when AC is off as well? is there any difference in vibration when its on/off ?? Also Do this vibration remains same in COLD start as well as when engine is in operating temperature ?? however doing an engine tuneup won't harm your car.. vibration may be due to carbon in throttle body/ blocked IACV as well.. So the best thing is to get a proper tuneup.. During the procedure make sure to check ur fuel pressure, clean throttle body and all related sensors + injectors and also check the condition of ur spark plugs and ignition plugs.. Regarding your humming sound, is it coming from rear side of your car? if so it could be due to worn out razors as well.. but this usually comes if u speed around 50+kmph mostly
  9. Machan the thing is no one is compatible of pin pointing the exact issue.. things we say are some tips to check before jumping into wrong conclusions.. if you are not equipped with mechanical instruments, either way u hv to go to a mech and get it diagnosed and done.. We as a community can do is to give you possible reasons which may lead to ur root cause.. Hope you can understand it.. u should perform step by step analysis and remove all identified suspected scenarios till you get to the root cause Anyways good luck.. Please do update us with ur results, so that it will help someone else in future cheers
  10. If it doesnt have a distributor the there are few sensors to measure the required inputs to get the idle values ,, therefore its better to get those checked like MAF and other related ones.. Also get all the coil packs and spark plugs checked , cz even though those were replaced, one of em could be the culprit as well.. And also if possible get your head gasket condition checked.. cz i once had a similar issue where i get a huge lag in power in mostly within 1500-2000rpm range and it was identified by my mechanic due to head gasket leak.. After replacing it issue vanished.. Since mine didnt come with a distributor as well (same as urz i believe) P.S : car is a not a nissan but a honda
  11. yup agreed.. unless you can borrow a compatible one just to plug in and check for free
  12. Could it be an issue with the sensors like MAF or IACV ? cz to me it looks like something is sending incorrect values to ECU..
  13. good point.. any idea what are the things carried out throughout the process ?
  14. When was the last time you did an Engine tuneup? better to get an engine tuneup done (if it isn't performed recently). And get your engine checked for any error codes as well as a startup..
  15. Hi machan My honda city 2004 model also had a timing issue (when its heated properly 2nd cylinder doesnt fire at all) therefore engine misses big time till i reach 1500 RPM.. Checked whole ignition and other related areas and found out that head gasket is the issue.. today my mechanic is replacing the head gasket.. probably i will get the car today EOD or tomorrow. I can give you an update (only if required) after the job..
  16. i had a 4G13.. However i prefer you do do proper tuneup from a good person like (Mr. Dammika fernando) and may be he will point you to correct path to resolve the issue. I sent coupls of my friends who had lancer carb models with poor idling and fuel consumption issues and they are really happy with the end result. And this fellow has alot of related leads to get things done related to carbs as well. Therefore I hope you'll be able to resolve the issue, or atleast find the root cause.. Cheers..
  17. Well you have the answer in your explanation.. If there is a fuel starvation mainly it idles poorly during cold start and during the first KM's u feel the power lag when you try to accelerate.. bcz these were few common issues even when i was using my lancer CB.. However issue vanished after cleaning the carb.. When was the last time you did a tuneup? if you are getting the required power during 1-2 gears, then its difficult to think that there is a fuel starvation issue even.. could be an ignition issue may be.. I'm sort of out of clues on this machan... over to experts who have experience on the same matter cz i just shared mine
  18. its not too late to pay a visit to the agent, as you have already spent quite a few bucks on this as of now..
  19. Fuel starvation ? or engine-miss ? do you have the following symptoms: - Upon cold start, if you try to drive the car, you feel bit of a power lag? and it runs smoothly after couple of KM's of when the engine is heated properly? - During cold start do u feel any engine miss?
  20. Hi Che guevara I have a honda city (cvt gearbox) car, and its behavior is similar to yours. And that is simply how its made, so there isn't anything to be worried as long as it doesn't have any pulling power issues or delay in moving in cold start.. Also regarding the idling it is normal.. In neutral it will probably sit around 850-900 with AC on probably , but once you switch to D position rev will go little low, but that is normal and its doing what exactly been told to.. So cheers mate and let it go from your head .. If you are still worried you can check with someone who is using the same model..
  21. Hi Machan First do a proper engine tune up.. During the tune up make sure that your, - throttle body and injectors are cleaned properly - Spark plugs are checked and has correct gap inbetween the tips - Plug wires are in good shape - IACV and other related sensors are cleaned - Fuel pump pressure and also check for fuel filter for any blockage.. - Better replace the air cleaner if its not in good shape Get these done first because no matter where you go, every garage will suggest you to start with this.. If you dont mind me asking, what the millage of your car ? Keep us posted on your findings.. Cheers
