  1. I have a Proton Gen 2 made in 2005. The car has been driving well until recently. About 2 months ago I had an issue with the alternator so I had to replace it. Now, for over a month I feel a problem while driving the car. The gear transition is not smooth. The car sometimes doesn't respond to the throttle as it used to. What could be the issue (I doubt it is a gear box issue). Any advice would be considered.
  2. I have a problem with my car battery. The battery does not get charged when throttling. Also, the battery goes down pretty quickly. I took it to a mechanic in Wattala and he told me that I'll have to replace my alternator. As it is not in a usable condition anymore. I own a Proton Gen 2 and it's 90A alternator. Can you suggest me where I can buy a second alternator. What would be the cost for this?
  3. I changed the fuel meter as suggested by a mechanic at Swedish trading but, the problem isn't fixed yet. The mechanic had no clue as well. Then, I took it to another mechanic and he said the meter should be calibrated. But, then, it was working for sometime even though wasn't accurate. But, now the meter has gone back to it's old state. I contacted the swedish trading but, then, don't seem to undertake anything related to Proton it seems. So, kind of thinking if there is a better place to show my car?
  4. Hi, I have a proton Gen 2 2005 Auto transmission car. The fuel Gage doesn't indicate the actual amount of fuel left in the tank. It always shows that the tank is empty and all of a sudden shows a random value which goes down again immediately. I tried changing the Fuel pump to see if that fixed the issue but, unfortunately the issue is not fixed yet. Can anybody suggest me a reason for this also, anybody who knows a good and reliable mechanic to fix this kind of issues. Regards, Pragash
  5. Hi, I bought my first car a couple of months ago. It is a Proton Gen2 2005 Auto transmission. The car has done about 75K miles and the exterior looks very nice. I would like to know if there is a reliable mechanic I can take my car to do any running repairs? Also, is there a dealer who brings Proton parts down from Malaysia that I can buy for a cheap price? Also, it is very hard to get appointments from Swedish Trading Company who are the agents for Proton vehicle. So, I'm seriously looking for an alternative place to take my car. Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers
