Were EP200s better than the OEM tires (Yokohama ADVAN)?
  2. Never seen a Genesis in SL with me eyes
  3. Thanks K, I did a brief research on the oil change intervals - couldn't find any source that says conventional engine oil should be changed every 3 months, even if the car is run under severe conditions. From where/whom were you advised to change engine oil every 3 months?
  4. Wait - so is it recommended that the engine oil should be replaced every 3 months? (Mineral) I'm using Valvoline premium conventional (Rs. 4150 for 4L canister) and replace it every 6 months regardless of the mileage (I never hit 5000Km mark in 6 months) My owners manual recommends replacing engine oil every 6 months if the car is run under severe conditions.
  5. This is really, really confusing. Valvoline says their Maxlife ATF is compatible with trannys which call for Mazda M-V. http://www.benzworld.org/forums/attachments/w163-m-class/1708857d1450226627-transmission-fluid-maxlife-atf-rev-2015.07.23_20151215125131.pdf
  6. Yeah that pretty much sums it up. It seems OP let the makabass fill his tranny with wrong ATF. Aparade
  7. So what's the verdict, did OP used the wrong ATF (Mercon-5 instead of Mazda ATF MV?)
  8. Press the "info" button till it shows "setting menu" then press and hold it for 2 sec
  9. Changing the fuel consumption display unit The display unit for fuel consumption can be switched. The distance, speed, and amount units are also switched to match the selected fuel consumption unit. 1. Press and hold the multi-information meter switch for about 2 seconds or more to switch from the setting mode screen to the menu screen. 2. Lightly press the multi-information meter switch to select “AVG UNIT (fuel consumption display setting)”. 3. Press and hold the multi-information meter switch for about 2 seconds or more to display “AVG UNIT” (fuel consumption display unit setting). 4. Lightly press the multi-information meter switch to switch in sequence from km/L → L/100 km → mpg (US) → mpg (UK) → RETURN → km/L.
  10. There is no U turn offence mentioned in dada kola AFAIK so maybe the cop was telling the truth
  11. What if I be a cheapskate and use my leftover car engine oil (10W30, API SN, 6 months lying in the container) for my 125CC Bajaj? (Bajaj recommends 20W40)

why are using such a high viscosity oil?

      Jor-el

That's the viscosity Bajaj recommends, dunno why

  12. Honestly yes and I support the revised fines as willing to see a safest road (2) However I would've preferred if speed limit is 80-85kmph outstation, 60kmph in city limits
  13. How long do you guys let the engine idle before driving off (cold starts)?

Well its not totally useless. Its so you don't rev the engine and generally drive like a mad man, till the cold engine indicator turns off...not as good as a proper temp gauge of course, but still, better than nothing...

    3. Magnum

      Magnum

Yep as Kavvz mentioned its to indicate if the coolant has warmed up

@Jor-el The Vios does not have a temperature gauge, it only has a blue led to indicate a cool engine, and a red led to indicate an overheating engine.

  14. The first one's a GT it seems, the GLX/GLS has 10 - spoke 16 inch wheels The wheels on the Allion are also 10 - spoke, or my eyes are deceiving me
  15. Nope, just noticed Mitsi LanEX and Toyota Allion (S package)? both have the same wheels
  16. @Davy how did you touch-up the door sils? I have some clearcoat scratches and I'm gonna try a cheap polish I found on eBay... is there a better way to get rid of clearcoat scratches?
  17. There's the sound! yes, your findings corroborate mine, the sound is there whatever the temp is, the sound cannot be distinguished/stops when the engine is ON, couldn't check the last one tho. Glad to hear it's a common noise Lancers make (strange, my CS3 doesn't make this noise) so I assume there's nothing wrong with the car. Please share the mech's opinion of this sound thanks for checking it out for me!
  18. Thanks, will wait for your report it is not as noticeable as the sound of the video though. Can't hear from the driver's door position with the bonnet open... had to lean towards the engine bay
  19. Similar incident : http://club4g.org/board/problem-reports/54642-electrical-buzzing-humming-noise-coming-engine-bay.html Unfortunately the video doesn't work http://projectlancer.net/forums/topic/5398-buzzing-noise-from-engine/
