    hello guys,

I had the same issue. Driving at night and rainy days was like killing, I was driving like a blind person with a huge risk sometimes.

I was about to replace my windscreen. Suddenly found this place near Moratuwa. Took my car at night and he did a small part of the windscreen. Result was amazing.

Next day I took my car and spend nearly 4-5 hours. All wiper scratches gone. But small chip marks are there which no one can remove. And they applied a Nano coating to protect the glass from Rain (like RainX). Trust me, he did a great job.

The cost is 5k for the whole glass (it depend on the nature of scratches and size of the glass).

If you want to contact him, please PM me to get his contact details.

    Cheers !

Sent you a PM. Appreciate if you could share the details.

  2. Okay..first and foremost....if you had got the car properly inspected then all of the above should have been visible and would have been identified as what needs to be done. So ALWAYS get the car checked by the agents or a third party, especially if you are not mechanically inclined.
    1. Valve cover gasket and timing chain tensioner O ring...: You would have seen oil stains around the engine "body" on top...I suppose it is seeping right now with age...you would probably want to get that looked in to before the oil starts leaking quite badly and it becomes a big mess.
    2. Radiator support panel : How on earth did it get damaged ? The support panel does not get corroded that easily unless there is a leak in the radiator constantly dripping water on to it and/or the paint is damaged and exposing bare metal to get corroded.
    3. Stabilizer link....again..surprised that it is DAMAGED !!! I can understand the rubber bushings wearing out or showing signs of fatigue considering the age of the car...but how on earth did it get damaged ???
Considering 2 and 3 are you sure it has not had any frontal accidents ?
    4. Wiper blades need to be replaced...well...that means when it rains the windscreen would not properly get wiped thus driving in the rain would be a bit of an issue in the rain [emoji3]
I have to ask....are you sure this car has only 60,000km ? Did you see actual maintenance records from TL?  I have seen plenty of cars that have done far more than that and still does not show things like issues with the items 1 and especially 2 and 3.  If it actually has done only 60,000km then all I can say is that seems to be a car that has had a very hard life.
    My thoughts exactly [emoji33]

  3. Hi all,
Please suggest/recommend a place to replace the windscreen of my Kia Picanto 2005 as there are plenty of Wiper scratches. I tried a lot to remove them using different methods but didn't work.
It is very difficult to drive at night with this conditions.
I called Samarasinghe Wnndscreen and they said the cost will be 15k for a new Japanese Windscreen with fixing charges. Also said that there will be 10years warranty for the windscreen.
Is this reasonable? or there are more options?
And, I would like to know the performance of these windscreens available at Samarasinghe Windscreen. Do they similar to original windscreens?? What about the visibility specially at night and on rainy days?

Japan makes windscreens for Korean cars? [emoji33] [emoji33]

Yeah I was surprised as well. May be they had too many Kwids & Renaults on their plate on that particular day and didn't want to waste their precious time on this.

And the service adviser advised me to visit them for any repair as they are the people who are specialised in these cars :D

That was my first and last visit to A*W.

Useless fellows. That was my last visit too, 3 years back. Slowly worked my way to restore the Prim as close to factory as possible. Nice to know my babe has a twin somewhere :D

    Thank you gents.

    @Davy no it's GA-17XX.

BTW went to A*W today for the service. Wanted to get a full inspection done as well but their response was "Our scanner doesn't support this particular model". And this is a car imported B/N by themselves.

That's funny. They were able to do a full inspection on mine 3 years ago.

I thought @dilrukds's P11 looks exactly like this, but I just remembered that his rims are painted black.

Won't happen. She's still with me

And ya this look exactly like mine. Imported by A*W too for SLT.

Just noticed. This had a sunroof but not mine.

  7. I drove next to a dark green Primera with black alloys bearing 300 or 301 plates today morning (Monday the 29th June). The car merged to the main traffic from the Kotte Road next to the Burger King in Athul Kotte. The car was in lovely nick. Probably the best Primera from that era I've come to see. If the owner is on AL, hat tip to you sir.

It was indeed a lovely sight to the sore eyes and weary nerves while driving among the idiots in the tuk tuks and the Leylands. :)

I assume its my Prim you're talking about, and I take that route daily :) Shes a 301 and still WIP. I'm doing my best to restore her to factroy spec.

Feels great to know someone who appreciates the time and money we spend to keep these gems in shape!

  8. oh .. Don already knows what is part number. But he is asking "the" part number. What is your part number that you are looking for?
    What is the part number?

Oops my bad... I'm looking for 23781-2J220 IACV-AAC VALVE

  9. I can also vouch for amayama. Alot cheaper than buying through the agent. They use EMS if you order from Japan and it'll silently pass through customs if you're lucky. Ordering through UAE is a different story. They DHL it and gets taxed for the "declared" value. But they are good at finding rare stuff fast!

Great now I feel like I should use it... I noticed that UAE prices are cheaper. But which is quicker and less hassle?

  10. Hi You can try amayama to get down the part you want from Japan (Since you know the part number already). recently i have imported a Cabin Air Filter (For Vios NCP42) tray which is rare and couldn't source it locally. Agents quoted me 6 weeks to get it down from Japan. but though these guys it only took maximum 2 weeks. plus it didn't got stuck on Customs. total damage was only 2000/-

PS: Mods, please remove the name if it against Forum Rules

Thanks for the suggestion. I will check it out.

  11. Dilrukds,

If you want to find the exact part number, try this site out : http://japancars.ru/index.php?route=catalog/nissan .. go to the second tab (model) and select your model, and you'd get the parts diagrams. Site is accurate, as long as you get your model right.

    Hope it helps.

Great site! Thanks! it even recognizes my VIN number. Although I already found the part number through Nissan FAST. I'm sure you guys are familiar with it.

  12. Ya have done a lot to bring her back from the dead, and planning to keep working on her to get her back to the way she was from the factory.

Couldn't find the exact part number on eBay, but there are similar ones for about $200. My mech is tracking down a recon too, not sure how that will end up.

Sure, will share some pics later when I get home...

  13. Hi All, Finally I got my account approved after a long wait, just in time as I'm stuck with a busted IACV on my P11 running on a SR20DE.

I basically recovered it back from the dead after seeing her neglected in some backyard, with a dead battery. To my surprise, with 230k on the clock, she purred like a kitten, and roared like a lion towards the read line, no hesitations at all, and I was hooked. :smilie_liebe9:

Now after few months and about 300k later, She looks all good with the new paint, brand new beadings, plugs, clutch and all electronics restored. There are few more things to sort out but finding a new IACV is my priority, since the rough idle is killing me. According to my mech one of the small springs inside it was broken and for now he put in a similar spring in but it's not 100%. It's working great at day time when just AC is on, but at night with headlights and AC all on, revs keep sticking at 1.5 - 2k for a while before settling.

I was looking for a replacement for sometime and still couldn't find a good one. I found few engines but they don't like to remove just the IACV for me. I Would be glad if some of you can suggest me few places to look or pull up some contacts to find one.
