  1. Will you take a public transport (bus/train) if you are in a profession where you need to meet clients daily basis? When I used to work in Union place, I was travelling in a staff bus. I did not bother even if I missed it in the evening as some days I had to work till late.Edit: this was 10 years back. With the number of vehicles coming into Colombo, I don't even think of coming to city during week days. If I have to come for a meeting I'm happy to take a cab. No headaches to find parking space and no worries from lunatic drivers.
  2. Damn it. You take the car to travel 10km? For that you bought a Hybrid? Aren't there any office transport buses passing by your residence?
  3. Check if the head light is working & if the steering wheel is intact.
  4. Happens to me also. I have to reverse to take the car out of the garage. Before I select the gear, I hit the brak twice and reverse. Or else for sometime the break pedal does not work well. Stafford said no issue when I raised my concern.
  5. I agree with crosswind. I can remember him pointing this out some time back. I have seen some people (who are employed in BOI factories with concessionary electicity rates) charging the cars in office premises.
  6. If your parents dream was you to become a doctor by attending local uni, then my friend you have to serve at government hospitals. It was your wish to take up this profession. I will not say no to a doctor who has paid for his studies to migrate to another country for better prospects. Just chill, this is a temporary meassure. When we have sufficient foreign reserves, the government might re-issue permits. Just my 2 cents.
  7. Are we missing any other information? How can a Doctor own a vehicle worth 3 Mil (approx) with only the salary paid from the governmnet hospital? If the answer is inherited money, then why bother about permits?
  8. That cheap machine does not work properly.

Hi NRX. Is your ride a n16 or sylphy? Overall how is the car?
  11. I can remember my father bringing the company car which was bought from Indra traders all the way from Kandy to Colombo. Correct me if I'm wrong, Indra started from Kandy isn't it?
  12. Hmmm.... Used Google maps on iPhone few weeks back and voice navigation did work.
  13. Hi Isam, yes. You are correct. It needs an active data connection & 1 1/2 hour usage made the battery drain by 40%
  14. Yes they do. And it works perfectly. I use it in my Ipad. Only problem is the way the lady pronounce the name of the streets. Some times I have to halt the card & read it.
  15. Congratulations! You're a owner of a hybrid. Mate, I know cars, especially the types you own depreciate heavily. So here's a tip. After a certain point, when you need to sell the car by showing a lower mileage, make sure you reverse the car as much as possible. May be daily basis. Doing so you can turn the ODO meter back wards. Surprising eh? It works man like the EV mode example you brought up.
  16. Hybrid is not a solution for a person like you who travels 2 km daily. It's absurd. Take care of your battery. It will be ruined in no time. Any way good informative post for another person who is planning to buy a hybrid over a normal car.
  17. So you are one of those guys who needs to make so many mistakes to learn? My 2 cents for you is, once felt fishy, never pay a visit. That's what I did. Upto now I have never faced an incident of over charging, but have noticed less fuel pumped in different fuel stations. So I always stick to one.
  18. You can do a dry service (as they call in Stafford) any time without prior bookings. It will include oil change, oil filter change and air filter change (if required) then will have to book and wait for at leeeeeast 3 weeks for the usual under carriage + body wash due to this Vesi menia.... Even Stafford accepts this fact and the rattanapitiya new service centre is soon to be opened.
  19. Very strange. I have been using the service of the station from 2009. Before that I can remember my father had to use the same vendor as the company he was employed in had a credit facility with them. I always get down and stay near the pump until the job is done. I only get into the car to sign the card sales slip. Edit: Strangely the person who faced the problem and created the thread has not replied since 24th May.
  20. Every time after pumping fuel, I note down the amount, litres pumped and the KM I have run. I only use LIOC fuel station next to SBC Colombo 7. I can even see them swipe the card just 10 feet away from the car and so far it is the best fuel station I have been.
  21. Hi ramishka, guys at Stafford did not give me an error code. I cannot check the status of the battery as I do not have a multifunction steering wheel. But during a journey involved heavy traffic, the battery gets charged for about three minutes while the rpm is at 2. You are spot on about the comment made on starting the car. The IMA comes up in the display along with the red battery light. Stafford guys also said what you stated. The battery is not getting charged due to faulty sensor in 'motor rotor'
  22. Hey ramishka, need some advice. After my regular service at Stafford, I drove upto Town hall and stopped at a shop. When I turned on the car the It did so but with a quite a noise and the IMA indication came with the red colour battery icon. When it was scanned by Stafford, the IMA indication went away for few minutes but came back. They removed my ecu and plugged in one from there stock and went for a test drive. Since the indication did not come again they stated that the ecu is fine. But the advisor said it could be the 'motor rotor sensor' (correct me if I'm wrong) malfunction but he also stated this is the first time they met with such an incident. He told me to bring the car back ( in a carrier) if the IMA indication pops up as the battery will not be charged and it's not good to drive a long distance. Any thoughts???
