  1. Thanks for the quick reply @Twin Turbo. I have used the battery for almost 6 years now. Probably the battery's age is close to 7yrs. Any recommended brands if I have to replace? Did some googling and seems Yuasa recommended and the current one also Yuasa. Thanks.
  2. Hi, I have a Toyota Aqua 2014. When I try to unlock the car today idling after about a week the winker mirrors were extremely slow in opening. Also the cabin light was too dim. Then when try to start the car, it shows the "Check engine" indicator and won't start. I have not changed the 12V battery yet. I assume 12V battery is drained. Please advice what to do and what could be the issue. Thanks,
  3. I think you should consider owning a petrol-shed before buying a Nissan March
  4. I guess you can take a personal loan. There a is loan facility from N*B bank which you can pay up-to 7 years. Interest rate would be around 11.5% AFAIK. So your rental would be something close to max 25. I think you can afford a car. But think few times whether you really need a car.
  5. Will there be a color difference for a new car since there is no need to match for a faded color?
  6. I contacted the guy zaradiyel has suggested. He told that he can do a touch-up job & he'll give a warranty of 5 years for the paint job. According to him it'll cost less than 3.5k. Seems to be a fair deal.
  7. Thanks for your valuable feedback guys. I'll contact him Zaradiyel. I tried to do a touch-up job coz it is a very minor scratch. When I talked to the insurance guy, he told that "It's a very minar scratch. You might be able to remove it by doing a cut n polish & passed 6000 bucks as the claim." As some ppl told me it will cost around atleast 15k to paint the buffer & they hav told me to wait sometime for another damage in the buffer & do it. Thats why I was looking for a alternative solution for the moment. What do u guys think abt buying a touch-up paint from a good place like this & doing the touch-up & then doing a cut & polish in that area? I'll post a pic when I hv time. Thanks again.
  8. Hi, It's a pearl-white color car (toyota aqua) & there are several light scratches (max would be about 3mm) scattered over about 4-5 inches in one side of the rear buffer. I checked with a place who does cut n polish. But they said that doing a cut n polish would not fix those scratches as the scratches are deep and the best solution would be doing a touch up paint job. Is there a good place to do a touch-up paint job? If so how much will it cost? Thanks,
  9. I've installed a Pioneer dvd player in my car along with front & reverse cams. As I knw there is no need to cut the electrical lines (for Aqua but I guess with 2-din connectors you get all you need to do set a reverse cam). I've installed that unit from Micro-devices, Kadawatha for around 43k. I tried S** L#nK@ & Pe#co. But prices were much higher. Audio quality is good & bluetooth connectivity is really helpful. But as they have told me, u need to buy a separate unit to get GPS work which is around 10k for all branded audio units and then the sala satnavi chip for around 10k. But the chinese & thaiwan units comes with built-in support for GPS. I also recommend you to go for a branded one.
  10. Following link says that you have to pay a penalty fee of 10000/= (for a car below 1600CC) for the delay. http://www.motortraffic.gov.lk/web/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=91&Itemid=121〈=en

    Shelter For My Car

Hi Asrock, I've built a new garage one week ago. It was a steel frame with Durashine sheets, mounted to a wall using bolts. So you can remove easily. It costs me around 37k. Size is about 16ft x 10ft. As I remember durashine sheets is 2.4 ft wide and costs around 190 Rs per feet. I had to buy 7 sheets. workman cost per sq feet is around 100 Rs. Hope this helps.
  12. Hi all, Thanks for your valuable feedback. I'll try to bring its price down (so at-least I would be able to put some more cash in spare-parts). Anyways I'll consider other options as well. What about Toyota Passo? Heard it does well on fuel & spacious .
  13. I have contacted 2 Colt owners who already sold their cars. They have mentioned that parts are available at Mitsubishi Agent. Thanks for your suggestions. But Vitz and Demio is not spacious as Colt and fuel consumption is not good enough as I've heard. I expect at least 13+ Kmpl in City limits.
  14. Thanks for your reply. As far as I knw its a very rare model in Sri Lanka. I have seen only 3-4 ads in the past 10 months. There was another ad for same model in two months back & when I contacted him he told that it was sold for 19.50. Cigarette burns are something similar to this. One burn is in the arm rest & other one is in the seat.
  15. Hi, I need an advice from autolanka experts regarding buying a Mitsubishi Colt 2007 model. I have gone to visit the car. It is in very good condition apart from 2-3 negligible scratches in doors & 2 cigarette burns in the front seat. Further there was a small noise from the blower & he told that he will repair it before selling. I have not gone for a test drive. I'm very much happy with its condition. Owner is asking around 20.50/= for it. Odometer clocks at 71000 kms and registered in 2011. I have search the autolanka forums for Mitsubishi Colt new models, but could n't find anything. So my questions are, 1). Does this model worth 20.50 laks? 2). Is there any easy way to fix cigarette burns in seats? 3). Will it be difficult to resell this model? Thank you very much.
