  1. Yep NCP61. Anyway I let it go coz I agree its too shady + open papers...
  2. Nope its a 2002 model with 1.5L engine. This was the only 1.5 I found. All the others were 1.3L
  3. LOL I have no idea. I tried few times to correct it but it still looks like that. Its a Toyota Ist
  4. Yep that's how it was on the book. Thanks for the advice man
  5. Ah sorry my bad its actually 1NZ engine. But it didn't look like the number is scraped though
  6. Guys, I went to see a car but in the book and also in the engine bay only the engine series number was there (1KZ) not an engine number like 1KZ-xxxxx. As far as I can see the car is pretty much straight. What would you think about this?

    Shelter For My Car

What I would suggest is to go and have a look around in some metal scrappers. These people buy stuff off of government auctions and sell them much cheaper than in the Hardwares. I bought an entire detachable 2 car garage that was used to be an air port utility hanger for just 5000 with the bolts to put it together. They had more of them but it was in Kandy.
  8. Nice shot.. Err.. this is you jumping into the car park??
  9. Thanks for the info machan. Adding to that, if someone is looking for one of these cars you want to avoid "Alpha" model. It's way down on power and vibrates like a fruit blender. He is a friend of a friend of mine. Owns a large spare parts shop in Kandy and restores a car or two for fun and sells them. When I went there he had a Red sera that was in a pretty bad nick and a sweet 2 door Honda. I will share his contact no with u if he doesn't mind
  10. Thats true mn. Today I found a guy who sells specifically these kind of cars and he told me that for some reason there is much higher demand for 1st gen cynoses than the latter one. Also underneath its pretty much the same car where loads of mechanical parts are interchangable. (Correct me if I'm wrong) Its a known fact that certain ppl overprice there cars. Thats what led to this idea of CAR VALUATION
  11. I've been looking to buy a Toyota Cynos for a while now and found something very peculiar. There are two models of this- 1991 and 1996, but prices of both these cars are roughly similar. (Around 1.1-1.3m) The obvious thing to do is go for the newer model, but is there any inherent fault in the new model? Why does both these models cost the same? Anyone got any idea? Thanks
  12. I have read somewhere that there were few v8 series 2's built to export to US for military use in the 70's. Not sure about the authenticity of this
  13. I agree with Don and Watchman especially considering the fact that there aren't many unmolested S2's floating around in the market. But I haven't decided that if I can live with this. As for the engine it had a 2l straight 4 petrol engine and a 4 speed gear box, which he still has and agreed to give me with the sale. But it has a crack in the block and I don't think it would be usable anymore.
  14. Thanks guys It's a shame that this old hector will never get the recognition or care it deserves, because of the new plates.
  15. Guys, I found myself an original petrol S2 Land Rover that originally came with 8 Sri plates. But the guy who owns it recently had it converted to diesel and had the number changed to 325- Is there any way to get the old number back if I convert it back to petrol? This car has had a lot of character and with this number its all gone
