  2. Bro, try contacting Hussain 0776267414, 0777721262 or 0770707696
... He should be able to help you out to certain extent.

Heard he's a Mitsubishi used parts dealer and his outlet is supposed to be very nearby to the "Watta" in Panchikawatte.

Supposed to be capable of fetching anything as he has his network of mechanics in the vicinity.

    Good luck ...

  3. banda is not there anymore his son or grandson Shantha  running the place.. i also went to him for repair my carb but didnt work.., then i found the contact details of Ranga from another thread.

This so called Shantha is supposed to be Banda's son & operates from the same location in Grandpass (aka Kosgashandiya) as I've heard.

His contact number was 777317021 (not sure whether still in use)

  4. Hi,

I have a 4G12 lancer Wagon, The plastic timing belt cover is bit out of shape due to heat and some places have some small damage areas. Is there a place where i can find a good shape timing belt cover for this model ? i live around Kadawatha and i herd there are some places around gampaha, but still couldn't find the correct place. And i looking into another option of repairing the existing belt cover by doing fiber job. Will it be possible and is it OK to do so ?

    Thanks in advance,

    Gayan

Machang, not sure about places around Gampaha/Kadawatha.

But you may try contacting this guy named HUSSAIN 0776267414 0777721262 or 0770707696 who is supposedly an expert in Panchikawatta dealing with old Mitsu stuff. I called him recently to look for an inner wiper arm for my 1987 Colt (4G13).

This contact was given to me by forum member Davy who is restoring his 1978 Lancer.

    Cheers B)

  5. Hi Guys

trinity, you'd find some contacts plus loadsa info / review here at

  6. Hey Davy, I spoke to that guy & unfortunately he said I would not be able to get a 'wiper inner arm' set for my ride anywhere from Panchikawatta :( Lets see ... I've got no other option but to keep on hunting for one somehow

thanks for the contact mate, cheers !

  7. Croozer,

Thank you for your appreciation. Can you please tell me what kind of parts you’re looking for? Right now, I’ll give you the places I have in hand. I’ll be going to the workshop on Saturday, and the guy working on my car will be able to give me more info on where he purchased parts for the engine and so on.

For all windscreen and rubber beadings, door moldings: (I found all the beadings for my Lancer here)

    Gunaratne Motor Stores

    249, Darley Road, Colombo 10.

Found some really valuable emblems, moldings, wiring accessories here:

    Nandana Auto Motives

    259, Darley Road, Colombo 10

This is a guy from the scrap yards in Panchikawatta. USEFUL! (He will find you any reconditioned/used part where you can’t find anywhere else. I got the front disk brake set, a steering box, complete wire harness from him)

    HUSSAIN (077 6267414, 0777721262, 0770707696)

No. 441/4, Sri Sangaraja Mawatha, Colombo 10

I guess you didn’t have any problem in finding parts for your engine. They’re everywhere! :D

That’s about it for now. I will find you the rest ASAP. Stand by. :)

    Hey Davy,

Thank you very much machang, some really useful contacts as I see.

Btw is it LP Gunaratne? Heard they do a pretty good job - anyway I was to pay them a visit as both my rear door winders are screwed up & also I need to ensure that the beedings are all good & smooth.

Well as you said my garage guys didn't have much issues finding engine stuff - in fact I replaced all 4 pistons with new ones.

My immediate requirement is to hunt for an "inner arm" for the wiper/s. AFAIK they say its impossible to find one but will need to adjust a compatible one. I will defa contact this guy soon & will try my luck. Davy, thanks once again mate, cheers!

  8. Nice to see someone with the passion for modifying an A72 Lancer. I myself have a 1979 Lancer A72 V (Station Wagon) and I've been having it for the last 15 years. I have just finished restoring the engine completely with the addition of some performance mods. :) I was able to find ALL the (new) parts for the 4G33 engine at Panchikawatte.

I also did a disk brake conversion and now it's undergoing a steering restoration because of a worn out steering box. I can gurantee that you can still find any part (engine, body, interior etc.) in Panchikawatte. In fact, I was amazed after seeing the number of Lancers bought to be scrapped. Some still having usable parts. So keep searching. :)

Good luck with your modification. Start slow, and turn her into a beast! :D

    Hey Davy,

Great to see your patience, dedication & the enthusiasm during the restoration project.

By the way would you mind sharing with me as to where exactly in Panchikawatta you were able to spot the items.

I almost spent around 8 months to completely restore (engine + body) my 1987 Colt Hatch & still am stuck with few stuffs here & there.

Appreciate if you can gemme' some contacts down there, cheers!

  9. +1

    Congratulations & keep it up!!

An individual accomplishment deserves equal or better recognition than a team effort.

[Just for the record -- there was a 'World Champ' in Sri Lanka by the name of M. J. M. Laffir. [The First & ONLY world Champ to-date] I'm sure for most of you it wouldn't even ring a bell. He was the World Champ in 'Billiards' & got the fastest 850 + break whilst achieving same. But IMO he didn't get the recognition he deserved. Brought it up - just to state the same would happen to this guy too :( ]

    Bravo mate :grinning-smiley-003:

  10. Guys can anyone advice me of a place to get hold of an 'inner wiper arm' for my ride?

The specs would be Mitsubishi C11/C12.

Been stuck with this towards the end of my restoration.

Some suggest that I could go for something similar & get it custom adjusted to fit!

Does anyone have had hands on experience on this kinda adjustment?

Appreciate any tips & advises - cheers !

  11. Hey, thanks guys. Would greatly appreciate if any one could let me know how to get in touch with the Miniature Model club of sri lanka (MMCSL) and do you guys know where to buy diecast models here in SL.?

Hope u guys enjoy the pics

    Simply amazing collection mate ...

  12. Yup, don't go over 13GB cuz the speed drops down to 256kbps as they say. But not exactly true, the actual maximum speeds you normally would get after 13GB is around 80kbps. :o

And if you're not using too much data, the Impatience connection is even cheaper, cuz for 10GB last month, I was charged only 760 Rs. with taxes. :)

Heard they are no more releasing the 'Impatience' package for new customers & will continue only with the existing ones

  13. Recently I have seen 2 suzuki vehicles, with 1 red and 1 white light on either side of the rear license plate (together with full complement of parking, turning and brake lights at the two sides)

it's certainly not brake lights (was driving behind and noticed they didn't come on when the brake lights did), so is it one extra reverse light + one extra parking??

(there are other cars with 2 bulbs on either side of plate, e.g. new Premio, but they are the same color (Red))

    Sifaan,

Even I was wondering about same mate, cuz seen a few 80' Mitsubishi Colt's (especially Hatchback's) with same red/white additional lighting.
