  1. @jwenn is ur punto an Indian one?
  2. BTW Asanka, The parts and repair manual will be really useful in future
  3. LOLC did the Indian Punto. You can take it to Wheels Lanka in Peliyagoda (former Euro Motors for Italian Fiat Punto) they will look in to that..
  4. The manual punto KN-95** was there for repair. Not in a good shape though. There are some dents on the fender and the front bumper.
  5. Hi Crosswind.. I put my car for a full paint and there was this K*-266* car.. same car as mine.. with leather interior and with panaromic roof.. but it was in a bad shape though
  6. Yep it's a common problem with all the cars in sri lanka. Better take it to the agent wheels lanka in peliyagoda. It's the best way to fix it
  7. Yup.. True enough.. I spent more than 400k on this. The milage was 65000 now it's 100000. Did some major repairs. But still worth it. Coz it's such a nice car. Most of these cars are not properly maintained. After that the repair cost is high. Better to check the history of the car by anyone who maintained it.
  8. I actually don't know a place. But it's available on eBay. Most of them are used ones. There is a serial number which should match. It will cost between 15 grand to 25 grand. Mine was replaced but not functioning properly
  9. It's not euro motors now. GP is serviced by Wheels Lanka peliyagoda. They will do the service. The rear door problem is with all the puntos
  10. Euro mortors is pretty expensive. Take it there and call that guy and tell him to look in to that matter and ask him to tell what the problem is. He is a really busy guy. You should call him.
  11. There are many versions of punto. The grande punto is the 5 door hatch back one. As far as i know grande punto production was stopped in 2009. After that they came up with punto evo. The new facelift version is just punto and its a 3 door hatchback.. i have not seen the new version in SL
  12. Yep.. sometimes on bristol street and sometimes duke street .. why?
  13. I'm driving almost 90 km per day.. from seeduwa - narahenpita - colombo fort and way back. I use the highway from ja ela and heavy traffic on baseline road and towards colombo. Does 11 most of the time. Use economy mode and less power on the pedal. This will increase the efficiency. My maintaine guy said the fuel consumption cannot be increased by tuning up the engine. It will increase the pulling power and quicker response. I couldn't check outstation consumption still..
  14. Bought it on january this year. I wasn't aware there were only two GP s with panaromic roof and leather interior ..
  15. <blockquote class='ipsBlockquote'data-author="VVTi" data-cid="269470" data-time="1417702425"><p>  <br /> I sure do... <br /> When did you buy yours? </p></blockquote>
  16. Yep great guy.. u can see how stubborn i was if u read this from the very first.. can remember someone bet 6pack of beer that i would go for a japanese .. ha ha.. vvti u owe me mate..
  17. Diesel fiat gives less trouble .. they fixed the hydraulic clutch issue. Actually GP petrol version was a failure and most of the cars were recalled and fixed the issue. Sri Lankan market was very less and the agent back then couldn't do it. The info was given by the guy in euro mortors. With proper care the life span of the hydraulic pump can be increased. Just one year back; i wasn't even aware of GP..
  18. Nop.. its red though. Kind of little modified, with carbon fiber touchup and racing strips. Turning in to an Abarth..
  19. I've seen a brownish goldish one.. that's a nice car. If ur used to a diesel one, i think diesel punto is a good option. Its trouble free.
  20. The maintainance cost of diesel is far more less than the petrol one, and its more fuel efficient. I do my service every 5000 km and cost me 10,000 at euro mortors. Other than that changing of transmission oil and selespeed pump oil can be done every 25000 to 30000. For the transmission oil u can use mobil. but for the pump u SHOULD use tutela cs speed oil. Most of these issues has occurred due to using of other oil types for the pump. I think the pump will cost u almost 125 k at euro mortors. But u can find a brand new one if u search online for about 80-100 k. When i bought my car it was not in a good condition. I replaced many parts and now it has come to the hydraulic pump. I think i will have to do it in nexr year. The main reason i bought my car, coz it has leather interior and panaromic roof. Right now the tutela 1 ltr oil will cost 13000 at euro mortors. But i get it for 9000. Still it's more cheaper in europe and planning to bring some. Other than that the repair cost is same as a japanese one if u use original japanese parts. By the way, what color was ur bravo?
  21. As far as I know there are only less than 5 bravo's in sri lanka.. its a cool car.. Well fiat GP doesn't have a gear box issue .. The issue is with the hydraulic clutch unit. Grande Punto has a manual gear box. The hydraulic clutch is operated by a 'salespeed' hydraulic pump which will change the gears adjusting the pressure. The salespeed pump is pretty expensive. This problem only exsist with the petrol ones. In the diesel version this issue was fixed. If ur not bothered go for the diesel. It's a turbo engine. There is no permanent solution for this. There is a temporary solution but it's not costly. Proper maintainance of this pump will increase it's life span. Use only tutela salespeed oil for the pump. Its a must. other than that there is a issue with the electronic power steering system. It's not common though. Parts are available. I have my guy who will manage to find any part for the punto. So far i don't have any issues. Any part is available online ; only if u can find a way of getting things down here. Personally I'm in love with this car. It's so thrilling to drive this. Switch off the eps and its magic. I can recommended a guy for u, but can't expose details here. It's not powerful as the bravo. GP has a smaller engine. Hope it's ok with u.. Did lot of research on this car before i bought mine. That's how i managed to gather the information. Hope this will help..
  22. I have not seen it.. is it an abarth version?
