  1. Might be helpful to get some idea ( Car is manual tho' FB 15 2003) At 5th Gear with AC / head light on;
  2. Thank you mate. Yep most of the 2011 A4s experiencing this issue. Is this YoM should be avoided or is there anyone experienced this issue and rectified successfully ?
  3. Hi, Anyone experienced excessive oil burning issue in Audi A4s (before 2012 YoM) ? Agents told me that they have to perform special test to identify it. Thanks
  4. Hi Sorry for bringing old thread again. I am looking for an Audi A4 these days for my personal use and today went to inspect a car advertised here in Autolanka. But I faced really bad experience there and thought to share it here so othere can avoid such experiences in future. First of all I called the owner(say) and asked no. of previous owners and whether he is the registered owner or not. For me being a registered owner is vital because otherwise I can't get proper idea about no. of owners and it assured that car is not being passed hand to hand unnecessarily. He said he is second owner and car is registered under his name. Then I decided to go and inspect the car. Apparently car is in good shape. But then i came to know that the car is not registered under his name. Till that point he claims that the car is under his name and used it to attract potential buyers. I decided not to deal with such cheep people and this is good example to show the level of used car market in Sri Lanka. Actually i am not capable of generalized this incident but please be careful when dealing with such sellers. So you can save your precious time. http://www.autolanka.com/view/audi/a4/40573.html Admin please remove this post if it violates any of the ruels in Autolanka forum. Thank you
  5. No. The previous owner brought the car with around 28000 km. He gave me service record till 78000 km. And I brought it with 88000 km on ODO. ??
  6. Thank you guys. @Twin Turbo yep might be. But such actions are not acceptable from reputed place like that. ??? @Clark's son haha yes Bro. But the previous owner gave me the service records and he is a genuine gentlemen. So I believe ODO is okay. @Rumesh88 Yes. There is no noticeable oil reduction. I will revert it back in next service. Thanks Bro. It won't affect the engine for the next 5000 km isn't it ? ??? As always, support of you guys are really valuable. Thanks
  7. Guys, I am having FB 15 car with 92000 km on ODO. Yesterday I did my service at Nissan and they used Castrol GTX 20W50. Since this is higher viscosity oil, I asked the reason and they said it is okay for this millage. Previously I serviced from Pitstop and they used Castrol Magnatec 10W40. I searched the internet and found that GTX 20W50 is recommended for millage more than 75000 miles (121000 km). Now I am bit worried about using this oil for next 5000 km. Is it okay to use this oil till next service ? is there any adverse affect to the engine ? Thank you
  8. My bad Thanks for the info Bro. So the best option is going for the Exedy. isn't it ? Any recommended place around Colombo area to do the repair ? Pitst0p okay ?
  9. Thank for the reply. There are two brands " STD " and " Vaiken " (I am not sure about the spelling this how they spelled out) both are 10000 to 15000 rage.
  10. Guys I'm having Nissan FB-15 (2003) and clutch plate n pressure plate giving some problems and need replacement. Your ideas about following issues are highly appreciated. 1. I'm thinking going for a genuine Nissan spares, But as per A*W, only the clutch plate would cost around Rs 18000. In the same time I can buy "made in Japan" spares (full set clutch +pressure + bearing) for under Rs.15000 from outside. So is it really worth going for a genuine Nissan parts ? 2. Is Pitst0p good for such repair ? Or else any suggestions ? Thank you.

  12. Mates, Story in short. I did not buy that EX saloon car. It inspected by my relation (who knows about cars) and told lot of drawback. Gave up the idea. Then again searching phase started and found very carefully used FB 15 Super saloon. My relation told that it is well worth. So closed the deal and brought it to the home. I am very mush satisfied about the car. Thank you very much guys for valuable advices and specially The Don. What you have told is 100 % applicable when buying a used vehicle. @ Reckless - Yep sure. Will upload some pics.
  13. Guys, Thank you for your valuable advices and precious time. Went to see several cars (FB 15 and Carinas) and found good condition FB-15 Ex saloon (new shell). Like the car and decide to go for it. Really appreciate your support for buying my first car. Thank you.
  14. Guys, What are the additional features of the full option Carina SI (automatic) compared to the base model (same SI model) ? Is there any option called heated side mirrors or something ? I saw some having rear wiper. Is it also a optional thing ? Basically how to identify whether the car is full option or not ? Please help.
