Haha IKR. Actually Im surprised my self. But I noticed that the RPM stays around 1.3 even when cruising at 60MPH. I guess since the engine is bigger, it doesn't need to work harder. Flooring is thel higanna killer mode(5kmpl, soo worth it)

Drove this last Saturday. IMHO the current A4 is the best in class when it comes to technology and interior.! The Audi Virtual Cockpit is a ripper.!  Driving Dynamics are a pretty average but. Its like a big sedated Golf GTi.  My mind says A4 but the heart keeps going back to the BMW 3 series. Trying to decide between the two..

I follow the philosophy of "drive a slow car fast"..in srilanka its very very hard to push the limits on anything above 1500cc. Nothing like driving on the edge! 

Also, I have seen people the japanese get north of 150hp out of kei cars and my objective is just half of that. Once I do get bored, I would move on to something bigger. Either a 660cc or a 1300cc starlet GT.

I also have a japanese moped with a 5hp, aluminum, fuel injected, liquid cooled engine of 50-LOLs-CC. And I was expected to get bored but suprisingly I've never been bored with it! But the power is hell lacking when you need to do some overtakes on the A1.

@Kavvz It's actually my Mothers UX. We got it when it was newly released. Baad idea. It is based on the CHR. Looks much better. But cramped,underpowered,lacks basic features unless you pay big bucks for option packs . Also it's not even close to a SUV/crossover. Basically a Hatch trying to be a SUV. 
 

Horrid 10 speed CVT. Loud slow and annoying. 
 

Also Lexus has the nastiest Infotainment systems. Clunky slow and hard to control.

@AVANTEThe X7 is a 3.0 V6.  Plus the M sport starts at 78k usd. Apparently thats the only x7 in south asia. So they have a huuuuge mark up on it. It started at 625 lacks. The cost was below half that.

Paint will also be done at the place I did my wheels. 5000 bucks and a gal arakku bothal motivated the painter to the point, he said he pay the money to get if done at a big box store if he screwed up. Will be done once I’m back in Lanka.

Hence why I use a sorta bush mechanic and a small time painter, 

they do only one job at a time, I pick the raw materials they use and the finish it fast.

looks classic. i doubt if it will get pedestrian safety approval in western markets due to the vertical front. I think that is why the old mini had to taper off the front grill.

but kei cars are not designed for Western markets...they are for Japan by Japan. 

In Japan the frontal pedestrian safety requirements are more to do with height and non forward pointy shapes and does not mandate a slant.

I know you said no econoboxes but the Swift Sport is a hot box. 125hp and just 1000kg to tug around. 0-100 under 8 sec. Perfect for our country roads except it's a bit too stiff. All this provided you could find one for sale. If not, a mint Glanza V if you are into hot hatches but I think it's too small for you. 

The Kia Cerato may be just a Korean econobox but its quick alright and looks smart.

For your budget you are probably looking at a stock 90/100 series Grande or something...but even then the good ones now fall in the the 2.5 - 3.0 mil bracket

How about a Nissan Primera HP12. Awful looks but that SR puts out 200 + BHP driving the wheels and that sweet 6 speed manual gearbox that just goes snickerty- snick. Sounds great too.

An EG would be a fun little ride too...only hitch is most of them have gone through a (or bunch of) ricer and has been mucked around with. There are several really good, pristine examples around but owners are not selling them and if they are they ask for top-end money. Call me ricer, but I remember around 2004 a green eg8 passed me while I was in the school van. Always had a dream to go to Italy in a boat and buy an “eg8 modified” after coming back in few years. But then the modified scene died down and I sort of drifted towards euros.

2004 was a lifetime away....the body modifications seen in F&F were considered cool. A decent proper body kit is fine...the issue is these kids just mounted on poorly locally done plastic buckets of varying shapes...cut springs...added cheap chinese rims...put neon lights all over the place, etc...

i Would buy the Every Van.. Good Grocery goer and hauler. watchout for the Rubbery bits.. since those Sale ayyas haven't have a clue regarding them.. Corrosion usually starts from Door bottom. Im in the lookout for a shit box as well.. but thought of settling down for a Kelisa and thought of performing a bit of elbow greasing to fix it properly. On the unreg cars - almost all that are there in sales  are Kei's - and the slightly non-mainstream ones. Nissan Dayz's, Honda NWGns, Daihatsu Move's tantos and whatnot. 

The issue is they buy a 1000cc car thinking its the best sheez out there, and they keep going on and on about fuel economy. Civic guys are stingy than the wagon R guys it seems!!

Well..over in Japan the Jimny XC seems to be going for about 1.8 - 1.9 mil yen (both from the Suzuki dealer and outside dealerships). There are a few with ody conversion kits (to look like a Land Cruiser and a Hummer) that are priced at like 2.3milyen...

There is a base Jimny Sierra for sale at 2.1 mil yen.

So mayybe we can get one under 4 million?

The Mira is OK - a bit under-powered but ok for an old lady. The cheapest would be the Kei Alto. 

Hideous as it may look something like a spacia might be something the elderly prefer as it is relatively easy to get in and out of the car. [P.S : I think it's pricier than the Wagon R - i don't know the price of it just a thought that it would be good for an elderly person ] 

The best looking one would be the EK IMO. 

Non Kei - I don't think you can get an unreg vitz for 3.3. A passo maybe for around 3.4... Axia maybe?
